Not really much of a discussion topic, but something I thought worth mentioning. Mainly because while out hiking in a local park this past weekend I witnessed another hiker casually flick their cigarette butt off into the wilderness.
Now with the mild winter many have just had, and the drought conditions due to lack of rain in many areas (including here in S.E. Virginia), I don't think I need to tell you conditions are ripe for fires. I had to call in a small brush fire last fall while out caching and ee have already had a couple small brush fires in the area this spring (and spring has barely started).
Please, if you smoke.....learn how to field strip your butts. And even then, please don't throw them on the ground. Like any other garbage, carry them out with you to the nearest trash can! If if you see someone else toss a lit butt off into the dry leaves, by all means smack them in the back of the haed and say, "Hey Dipsh*t, pick that up!"
