Speaking of caching with friends. One of my favorite caches was when the entire family went out and was presented with a very wide but shallow creek. In the 50's, sun shinning and it seemed that every rock that we had to step on was slime covered.........So we all took off our boots, tied them over our shoulders and crossed the creek hand in hand (hey either all would fall or none). The line of all 5 of us was really something I won't soon forget. And none of us fell
yeah...I try to bring the entire family.
The kids are all tweeners and some day soon they'll be caching on their own!
Nice! Pretty luck you made it sounds like a recipe for getting soaked to me, in fact I know people who probably would have bailed on purpose (well maybe not if it was 50) to get everyone else wet.
Fortunately you won't have to worry about that when you head up hear, unless of course you get really really lost.
Another thing I try to bring a long is a trash bag, 1) the obvious you help clean up the area 2) if a ranger or someone else stumbles upon you it helps geocaching look good
