Buxley's Geocaching Waypoint (http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/) is very pleased to announce the addition of 925 (yes, 925!) new geocaching maps covering the entire continental United States in one degree increments. Each of these "tile" maps covers approximately 3,600 square miles--that's big enough so that eight pixels on one of these maps represents a distance of
about a mile.

You can access these tile maps from any of the US state maps. At least one tile map for each state (and more than one in large states with lots of geocaches) is outlined with a heavy gray border. Click inside the border to go to that tile map.

Each tile map has direction arrows around its border. Simply click an arrow to go to any of the eight adjacent tile maps. Just the thing when you're planning your next geocaching road trip!

Obviously these maps are brand new and, although I've spent a lot of time testing them, you may find something that's just not quite right. If you do, please drop me a line at edhall@brillig.com and I'll do my best to fix it
quickly.

From Seattle, Washington to Key West, Florida and from Presque Isle, Maine to San Diego, California we've got your maps!

Great stuff, Ed. Once again, you've made an invaluable tool for caching even better. Thanks. :D

Thanks everybody. I'm still tweeking them a bit. It'd be nice to let people zoom in anywhere on the state maps, not just inside the gray boxes...

Oh yeah, and Alaska still needs tile maps... (*pant*) There'll be a few of those!

I just had to look at the Key West map because I have a  cache there, the first in Key West. And I was surprised to find that several others have been placed there since then, including at least a couple that advertise themselves as being the southernmost in the continental United States. But check out the coordinates of mine compared to theirs and you'll see their claims fall short of the mark. Once again, if you don't use Buxley's maps and Navicache, you won't see all the caches!

I made a change to the state maps last night so that you can now click anywhere on the map and zoom in on the appropriate tile map. Previously, you could only zoom in on tile maps with the gray borders around them.

Everything seems to be working but, as always, please let me know (either here in this forum topic or at edhall@brillig.com) if you run into any problems.

Thanks!
