Greetings to All!

Quote (upinyachit @ Mar. 12 2004,6:06 am)
All of my friends and family members would like to know why I am such a geocaching freak.  I try and explain to them that I am a cache addict, and there is nothing nobody can do about it. :tungue2 When my family goes on a ride somewhere, they all tell me to be quiet and no geocaching talk allowed.  There has been times where our family has taken long road trips, and that's all I would talk about is Geocaching.

Geocaching is a natural extension of our hunter/gatherer survival instincts.

Since our survival no longer depends upon a daily hunt/search for food, those with strong survival instincts subconsciously transfer the skills to geocaching! :D

Don't get me wrong, my whole family loves to go caching, but I tend to go overboard with it.

Your hunter/gatherer instinct is very strong. :)

Quote (upinyachit @ Mar. 12 2004,6:06 am)
There has been times when I went hours out of the way to go find a cache while the whole family was hungry and thirsty.  I would tell them just a little bit farther, then we will stop.

Ahh... your strong hunter/gather instinct subconsciously over-rode your logic... it associated the cache with food... the faster you found the cache (successful hunt for small game), the quicker your family would be fed. :)

Quote (upinyachit @ Mar. 12 2004,6:06 am)
All of my family members have learned my ways, and they make me pinky swear that we are not going caching, even if I am just giving them a ride to school.  I guess I have an addicting personality and that's why I am more hooked then others.

Your wife should be congratulated in her choice of a spouse that would have guaranteed the survival of your family in earlier times! :thumbs-up

A 1/1 via the trail around the hill?
Nah... that's too easy!  Let's go up and over!
Why follow a trail when we can blaze our own? :p

Ahhhhhh, I get it...

you're talking chit about D being a caveman  :rollwink

I remember seeing the story on the Nerd Channel where 13,000 years ago the old chits migrated across the Bering Strait (from USSR to Alaska) and followed the Rocky Mountains down to Colorado.  The rest is history.

I was trying to help D. :grinnin

[next conversation in the car]

Mrs. D:  Now, D, no geocaching on the way to Grandma's house.
Kids: Mom, did dad tell you we were 2 hours late for school because we were trying to get the first to find at the new cache?
D: Ahem... all of you should feel blessed that I'm such a good provider... just ask the GeoRockers.
Mrs. D and kids: ???

[end conversation]

:rotflmao

I should admit that I may have the same malaise as D... our caching group has been out as early as 3 in the morning trying to get the first to find... only to read a log with the entry 'I was on my way to work.  Thanks for the fun.' by another cacher. :p

Get well!  Get that lung back into shape  :2cool

When I broke a rib motorcycling, it took about 2 weeks to start smiling again.

I broke three ribs and my lung collapsed.
I spent almost a week in the hospital and I am still having problems breathing.

I hope you have a speedy recovery. :)

Upinyachit is going to be out of the geocaching game for a while. :(   On March 18, 2004 I took a fall at work that seriously injured me.  I broke three ribs and my lung collapsed.
...

:( Does this mean you don't hear to hear some good jokes?  :p

Get Well Soon! :thumbs-up
