Stopped by my Verdugo Park cache last weekend and was surprised to find that Will Wheaton had visited.  He’s the kid who was in the movie “Stand by Me”.  I didn’t recognize him from the internet logs because he goes by the name Grounds Keeper Willie but he signed his real name in the cache log book.  It was his first cache.

Up till now my only association with famous people was hanging out with Broderick Crawford’s son in high school. I know, you probably don’t know who he was either. LOL

If you're over 50 you might have a clue.

Yeah, I stopped by Wil's site (www.wilwheaton.com) a while back and told him it would be great to get involved in the sport as he seems to get into that sort of thing.. told him to stop by here and told Quinn about his site.. saw that Quinn left a message in his guestbook so nice to see it had some positive effect! He's also the young ensign in Star Trek: Next generations by the way!

There's been many a discussion about Wil on the other site.

Isn't there a movie studio out by you Gridley?  Mayhap we can get more Hollywood Techy types involved.  I have been considering e-mailing a musician about geocaching.  David Arkenstone.  Inspired by the Tolkien tales, his music is excellent to listen to while hiking......esp Middle Earth and Celtic Days.......his bio says that he loves exploring new places.....

Imagine G.Lucas of SSpeilberg on the trails.......ET with a GPS... :rotflmao

No, don't know of any movie studio here in Virginia but I've been going to Kevin Smith's website for awhile trying to float the idea of a comedic movie based on geocaching.. Kevin is Bob of Silent Bob fame.. "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", etc.

Kevin's site is www.viewaskew.com...

In the GPS model of the universe, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line...through creeks, thorn bushes, horse piles, whatever....

I’m really dredging up an old post here but for anyone interested, here’s the photo of Wil Wheaton taken with the disposable camera at the Verdugo cache. http://www.creekbed.com/images/verdugo/016.jpg

Did my first cache in four months this weekend. Spent an hour crawling through poison oak, scratched my eye on a branch, then discovered I had the coordinates wrong.  D’oh
