I was just out to Las Vegas and drove out with my good caching partner, CodyHollowFarm, to Arizona to grab a Virtual (GS) so I could make it 3 new state cache in for the trip (NV, AZ, and CA).  I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a GS Virtual at the dam.

After getting home, I was checking around and found that NC had a webcam cache there that didn't require actually being at the dam, so I could still do it.

The requirement was just to get a picture of a convertable passing over the dam.  It took some patience, but I finally was able to get a the pic I needed.

The cache was webcam race 2007 (Hoover-Dam).  Is anyone familiar with any other similar webcam caches on Navicache?

Thanks!

For the record, I did hear from hendrik (CO of the Hoover Dam virtual) that there are two other "web cam race" caches:

webcam race 2006 (Klagenfurt) - You actually need to be onsite for this one.
webcam race 2008 (speed camera) - One benefit to getting a speeding ticket.

Each of these are in competition with caches on opencaching.de, so check them out and help out a fellow Navicacher.

He is considering getting a late start on a 2009 webcam race cache, as well.

Still curious if anyone knows of any other "remote" webcam or other vituals - ones that are designed to be done remotely, that is.

We had a few webcam caches in my area a while back. I was thinking about trying to toss together a complex webcam idea to work in with this. just gotta fine tune the idea. :p

Cool.  I look forward to hearing what you come up with.  Be sure to post here when you get it out.
