There's a dashpoint that is very close (about 2.5 miles) to my home.

I'm thinking that, if it is accessable, I may leave a film canister with my mobile phone number on a piece of paper in it. So that any geodasher who gets to the point, and finds the microcache, can phone me.  Then, if I'm in the area, we could meet for a coffee in the cafe in the town.  If I'm not in the area, at least I can tell them of the interesting places to visit, if they have time.

I wont be making it a 'proper' cache, as it will be short lived, if it works at all, and it's really only meant as a bit of added interest to other geodashers.

I may see if the place is reachable tonight.  I did set out on my bicycle this morning, but had to turn back as I'd not left enough time for the trip!  I am definately even less fit than I thought I was.  Plus, I could have done with maintaining the bike first.  ;)

This isn't a bad idea...A micro cache will not hurt the environmement and at the same time provides a double reason for going to the next fellow.
Yardboy did this local to my area by leaving a "Wheres George" dollar at a dash point. Now thats the kind of litter I like to see!

I've placed the microcache, a film container with my mobile phone number on a bit of paper inside, at about 300 metres from the dashpoint.

So far no calls received, and no other logs for that dashpoint.  I'll retrieve the container at the end of the month.

Looking in detail at the map, this might be a good place for a proper cache.  There's a spring head marked and the woods have well defined footpaths.  No Llamas though.  :)
