I've been asked if I want to join a team, for which I feel honoured as I've only been active for a few days, and I wonder what the rules are about points previously scored?

For instance, If I create or join a team, do my points from previous hunts count (as I've only been active in one game, so far, this would only affect the current game) or will only the points that I score after declaring that I belong to a team count?

I can see points of view for both sides of opinion.

1. If my points count for past hunts in the current game, then one or other team will gain after seeing how bad, or good, I've been
2. If my points do not score then I might have waited until I'd joined a team to log them (not that this occured to me until after being aproached, I have to admit. ;) )

I'm not looking to make trouble, just understand what the acepted wisdom is. If my previous points do not score, then that's OK. I can see why, but I will then have to make more of an effort to prove my place. :)

Which is OK as I can't easily escape this weekend as my girlfriends grandson (too complicated to explain now) is here, and he's only 3 months old. So, I'm house locked until the week and I can get out and about for a few hours.

I have plotted a few more coordinates that I think I can get to, so I hope that I can justify my place on a team, but it would be nice to carry those points along as well.
:looking:

What do other people think?

The question has been answered by Scout very quickly.  :)

The score for the current game passes to the team, but any previous game scores do not.  Since game 6 is the first I've entered, that's not going to be a problem.

Cheers.

well-well-well...I see Morseman has joined with the enemy in Geodashing. looks like our work is cut out for us and we'll (buxleys Navicachers) have to start cracking down and grabbing more points. Thank god for yardboy and Gimpy! :D
With luck I'll be heading to Syracuse and Buffalo this week for work purposes and can take the GPSR with me.

Morseman's avatar...notice the eyes...either too many pints or beaten for joining "them".  I could have sworn that Quinn extended an invitation to join us some time ago in this very Forum.  :sneaky:

I don't remember reading an invitation, but then again I've been a bit distracted with other things, personal and work related.  ???

En Dash seemed appropriate to my alias, and when I received an email direct from one of their members, it seemed like a good idea.

Mind you, a bit of healthy competition can't be a bad thing.  Just think how you will be able to gloat when, or rather if, you overtake En Dash.   :)

Nope, can't find anything, other than a reasonably old thread which was started before I started geocaching, let alone dashing.  :p

I would probably have skipped over it as being BMT.

Sorry and all that.

For those interested I have added a GeoDashing Chat Room to the Navicache Chat Center.
As with the others you can schedule to meet others there by placing an announcemnet in the Chat Room Meeting Times Forum.

January dashpoints are already out. Once again, not a real abundance of points real close to home. :0o
