Results: Geodashing Game 126 (GDBA)

"Instead of going out shopping on what is one of the busiest shopping
days of the season, we took a nice ride out into rural St. Charles
County.  After stopping for breakfast and before heading into the
rural areas, we stopped at this dashpoint.  It wasn’t too many years
ago that this was also rural St. Charles County, but St. Charles is
one of the most rapidly growing counties in the country.  Everyone is
trying to escape the established urban core in favor of everything
being new.  They think new is always better.  Anyway, I exited
Interstate 64 onto Winghaven Blvd where numerous shopping and eating
possibilities are located.  We wound our way thru shopping
possibilities and new subdivisions, then turned onto Cinnamon Teal
Drive.  The roads in this subdivision are named after different
species of ducks which probably lived here before the subdivisions
took over.  We turned onto Merganser Drive and then Peregrina Drive
which dead-ended in a small circle.  We pulled over near the north end
of the circle, about 100 feet from the dashpoint which was towards the
back and between two houses.  The houses all looked pretty much the
same, 1 story brick façade with an attached garage.  We were parked in
front of a house that had wreaths in the windows and greenery strung
along the rails and posts of the small porch. A wooden reindeer stood
in front of a small tree. Both the reindeer and tree were covered with
lights.  I’m sure it made for a pretty sight at night when the lights
are turned on. But we had other places to go and bid the dashpoint a
Merry Christmas."

That's Geodashing in Missouri with RogBarn

==================================

Game 126 (GDBA) of Geodashing was won by team "GeoTerriers." Honorable
mentions go to teams "Llama League" and "FinEst Dashers."

Individual honors go to Tom Arneson. Honorable mentions go to
geodasher, Meset, RogBarn and sandrats.

The game saw only 31 dashpoint hunts in seven countries (Estonia, US,
Finland, Australia, Germany, Belgium and a miss in the Bahamas).

==================================

A sampling of waypoints visited by Geodashing players this month:

on a Christmas tree farm in Oregon, a few kilometers from the Ankeny
National Wildlife Refuge, winter home of Dusky Canada Geese

in a forest in Estonia surrounded by brush that was dense like a
jungle and soaking wet from a cold rain

in a forest in Finland, near an old barn and a small lake

in flat lodgepole forest near a major north-south gas pipeline that
runs through central Oregon

in a tilled corn field in Minnesota

in a lagoon on the southern California coast called Agua Hedionda
(Stinking Water) near a small landing at the base of a steep bluff,
home of the Carlsbad Stand-Up Paddleboard Club

and in a dam on a cattle and sheep property northwest of Melbourne
("The dams were all full and there is plenty of grass and feed for
livestock")

==================================

Thanks to all the Geodashing players, whose many great reports are
quoted here, not always with proper attribution. Complete, original
reports are available on the Web site.

About Geodashing: Geodashing is a game in which players use GPS
receivers on a playing field that covers the entire planet. The
waypoints, or dashpoints, to be reached are randomly selected. The win
goes to who can get to the most dashpoints; that is, if you can get to
them at all! Each game has a new set of dashpoints making each game
different and unpredictable. For more information and to play, visit
