How come the forums are so dead?
Based on activity on the "other" site, I know there are more cachers than ever out there, with more joining everyday.

There are also many new caches popping up.....

Good question. I suspect it's related to a feeling that there isn't much new to say about geocaching. On gc.com, the habit of directing newcomers to old threads became so prevalent it was given its own name: Markwelling.

We're here  :)  I am always seeing new faces as well as old in here looking around at topics in all the threads. If people find something that strikes their fancy they tend to reply. But at least having them here is what is important.  :grinnin

Yeah.....thats one reason why I'd like to see some activity over here.....The GC forums are just getting nuts....

It looks like a lot of the western NY old timers arent making any appearances in the forums here or at GC....????

I think the heat and bugs are scaring us all away....

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I'm starting to get paranoid that no one else is out caching. I hit Quinns new one a couple days ago and no one has gone out since....

"Do I smell..."???  ???

It makes me feel better that no one has hit mine in a while though...

I agree that the GC forums have become tedious at best. These forums have always been helpful and informative. I can't believe the negativity and backbiting over there sometimes.

:sick

Hmmm....Seems like down here in the Southern Tier, that there are a lot of cachers/teams out.

Rocky keeps putting out new caches, and I cant get a FTF on one to save my life...

Newbie on this site.  Just backed out all my find logs on gc.com, archived all my caches there, got a couple buddies to do the same, then moved my cache listings here.  Fed up with the powers that be at gc.com (seemingly arbitrary approval process especially) and looking for a new place to post stashes to find.  Hope I can hang out here and not cause too much trouble! :)

Welcome aboard :wave
Sorry to here of your troubles elsewhere, and you are certainly welcome to "Hang-out" here. We try to maintain a very friendly, open community type atmosphere here and while we do have a (few) rules are much more relaxed in many ways.

Be sure to let us know if you have any questions.
