I've used this site for about 6 months and recently tried to download some caches I marked for download. All I get on my computer from the download is a file called "DownloadMarkedCaches.test.pl" that seems to be a bunch of html code. I'm baffled.

madthinkers,

The problem appears that you right clicked on the link for "Download Caches" and saved the target instead of left clicking on the link and downloading the zip file with the cache information in it.  (This is assuming you're using a PC.)

Glad to hear from you, though.  Hope to see you in the forums.  Hope to hear more from you.  A few of us have been getting together in a bi-weekly Monday night NC Chat Room session.  Would love to have you join us.

actually I wasn't right clicking but your post gave me a cue that helped solve my problem.
I use a popular download program called Free Download Manager (FDM) that seems to, in this case, act like a right click.
When I bypass FDM the zip file downloads correctly. Not sure why this site and FDM interact differently than other sites but this is the first time I've run into this kind of behavior.
Thanks for helping me figure this out.
I like your site. It doesn't make me feel like a criminal, like some other sites do.

Glad it helped.  I'm just a basic (if somewhat active) Navicache user.  I never go to the Groundspeak forums anymore, unless I'm checking on a particular thread.  I got tired of the, "Someone asked that question three years ago and if you'd searched, you wouldn't wasted everyone's time by asking the same question again," replies.

I check this site at least daily, even though, there are only a handful of folks that regularly post anything.

Hope you'll consider joining our Chat Session Monday night.
