The NaviGeorgeing posts started up again in the WheresGeorge.com (WG) Public Forum:
The general consensus seems to be positive for the WG bills we've been caching all along. Personally, the easiest gift I can carry is a bill & most of you know that I "naturally" carry Georges. There's even a post in today's thread from the WG webmaster, Hank, and as they say in the Islands: "he run tings". Here's his copy:
I haven't had time to read all the posts about geo-caching with WG bills, but I don't really see any problem with it specifically.
BUT PLEASE NOTE: THIS DOES NOT MEAN that people can start saying, "well, this is almost like geo-caching, so it should be OK" or any other type of justification of circulation that isn't natural. I don't want emails or posts asking permission for exceptions to the rule.
I'll repeat again: GEOCACHING with WG bills ITSELF is OK, but no other variant, however close or well justified is acceptable. If anyone sends me an email that starts out "I saw your post about geocaching... and I want to know if what I do is OK..." it will be deleted. The answer is NO.
Where's George? and Geo-caching are both about having fun and doing something unique on/with the internet. If you take it so seriously that the "fun" part is entirely removed, and all you do is argue about what is or isn't acceptable, what's the point?
For me, part of liking WG is liking Hank's style
