Quinn/PCMedic,

I've noticed lately that I have missed some new Navicache caches that I realised are not showing up on Buxley's maps....

I KNOW they used to show up on there.....I check it everyday for new caches instead of searching both sites...

Any idea why this is?

Hmmm, unless he has made a change and not let us know this should not be happening.
Can you think of any specific caches that this has happened with?

Yes.

This HelensHunt

Brought back to life

I see they are showing up on his map now, but I'm pretty sure they did not show up in blue when they were new. (I think the dots are blue for a week before turning red).

I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it happens again.

Thanx!

how do you find navicaches on buxley maps?  They all appear to be geocache.com caches.  Is there a seperate category for navicaches or are they mixed in with geocache.com caches?

The cache maps over at Buxley's list all geocaches. I know he pulls from both GC.com and Navicache (not sure if any others). If a cache is listed in the Navicache database, clicking on the marker will link you to Navicache.

What if its listed at more than one? (Is there a set preference?)

Then you get the GC.com site  :(

At one time, he was displaying whichever site had the earlier listing (or maybe it was the most recent listing). So, you'd have to check several such cross-listed caches to reverse engineer his system. Or, we could ask him. ;-)

Well actually if you click on the pin-point for a cache that is listed on both sites, you get directed to the listing on the Navicache site. :thumbs-up
I have just tested this to verify that is the way it is still working and appears to be so. It does appear that if you click on the link in the "Upcoming geocaching events and parties" text list on Buxley's, it will take you to GC.com .
