I've noticed some quotes identify the quoted person and date/time of the quote, and some don't.

I haven't tested this, so the circumstances may not be right, but it seems to me that when you quote someone in the forums, the resulting post looks OK, until you edit it. Then the name, date and time of the person quoted disappears.

I will look into this, because as you can see here, you appear to be correct in your findings.

Your reply raises another question. Your reply contains a line saying "Edited by..."

I haven't seen that line added to posts I edit myself for some time now. What triggers its appearance or not?

Configuration Tables via Administration Console.
Not sure how I accidentally disabled that but, should be working again now. Still working on the other issue.

I was able to do those quotes at one time but I'm not sure how to do it now. This might be a good topic (or instruction text) for the forums "help" button.

The problem I reported in the first post in this thread is back again.

Reply to a post. Click "Add Reply" and all is well. Next time, instead click on "Preview Post" first. The quote is missing the name and date of the person being quoted.

I began looking into this when I saw your post and am still checking.
Forgot to acknowledge your post and did not want to think you were being ignored.

Hope to have a fix soon.

No problem. Take your time. It's not urgent by any means. Anyway, nowhere near as important as listening to the debate over who is geekiest: train spotters, stone spotters or bucket spotters.

Maybe I should declare that I'm a Morse using Radio enthusiast who likes visiting Triangulation points, finding caches and trying to get to within 100 metres of imaginary, and randomly generated, points?

Ermmm, no, perhaps not.   :rotflmao

Wll it took a while but, the quote issue is now fixed.

You should no longer lose the name of the original poster even after editing a quoted post.
