We just found out about Navicache but have over 1200 finds on GC.com. Looks like a breath of fresh air, potentially anyway...
I have copied 2 of our 30 something hides here and have a question about Travel Bugs, coins or anything else that has a tracking number.
If I found a bug in a Navicache, how would I go about logging it so it would not appear to be missing in action?
Thanks and we hope to get some other local cachers into this once we figure it out.

Let me start by saying hello and welcome to Geocaching with Navicache :wave

When you say 'bug' I will assume you mean TravelBug © which are Geocaching.com specific. Most here will of course mention in their log entry that they retrieved 'xzy' bug and will also then log the same over at GC.com.

We are currently working on several enhancements to the site and the addition of being able to more easily trach 'HitchHikers' is on the list of upgrades.

Well, we are in the process of adding some of our hides over here and wondered how a trackable would be handled.
If the listings are on both sites, there would not be a problem but a cache that is exclusive to Navicache would present a problem if it were to have a Travel Bug dropped into it.
Thanks for the welcome and answer.

This happens frequently and the cacher who drops off the TB simply notes this in the log entry. Not the perfect system, but till our upgrades are completed, it works  :thumbs-up

I'm a newbie to this site too, and am glad that there is a fresh group for logging caches!  I wonder if this may be the void where some of my TBs have gone?  I will keep an eye on this thread and look forward to seeing trackables here on this site as the MAGC runs a yearly travel bug race; it would be great to possibly run it here next year. :2cool

OK the slow kid from the group has come along too so here is my first question.

How can I look for a specific cache? I have to waypoint for it, is there a way to look it up that way?:(   MW

Not at this time. There will be a search by 'waypoint' option in the updated search form when it is released.
