Just a tech curiousity. I placed a Navicache and made a typo in the coords. Once I realized it and updated the numbers, the page immediately displayed corrected links to external maps andaerial photos, but the map image didn't change. However it got a curious caption, something like 'map queued for update'.
Could you explain what is actually happening here? I'd hate to make you to manual edit the maps ... hope that this queue is for an automated process of sorts?
Also is it the normal situation that once a new cache is submitted, the external map links aren't pointing anywhere yet? It would give me a piece of mind if I can double-check that TopoZone is actually pointing to the precise location where the cache is supposed to be :) (typos happen!).

Yes our maps are generated automatically on a set schedule.

As for the external maps, part of this is due to the caches status. Until our database updates the coordinates are not available to the script to poll the remote site.

OK, got it about the "blank" external links on the un-approved cache page.
A related question, then:
Could the script be updated to append "&datum=WGS84" to the URLs of the Topozone links? 'Cuz it's trying to draw the crosshairs in the wrong datum right now :(

Done! :thumbs-up

I apologize for the over-sight on our part. Apparently at one point when working on the scripts we made a goof.

will this fix any previously entered entries?  I was fiddling with the location after I posted a Cache not too long ago.  I did not pay attention to the map, however.

Well I am not sure what you mean by 'fiddling with', but this will make all past and future cache submissions showthe crosshair in the proper position based on the 'listed' coordinates. So if you fudged your coordinates slightly (which is what I think you are saying) in order to get the Topozone map do display the way you wanted, then yes you will need to edit the page to show the proper coordinates.

It seems like it is omitting the datum from the URLs again?

Now the question remains why it stopped ???
