Posted by Rocky on June 02 2002,6:33 amWanted everyone to know that we very much enjoyed our 2002 Picnic. I think we would have to say it was just a little larger than 2001. It was so nice to see some of the familiar faces again and a real treat to put a face and personality with so many new cachers. Thank you to all who made this such a success.
Posted by Quinn on June 02 2002,7:26 amIt was made a success by every single person that showed up. The picnic was a group event and there was not a sinlge person who made it what it was, but instead a group as a whole. I am looking forward to the next one!

By the way...Yardboy! Gimpy brought a big picture of you that we hung on one of the pillars, so in heart you were there. Heck we even placed a cold one near ya.
Posted by Gimpy on June 02 2002,11:03 amHad a fantastic time. Great group of folks. Real nice to meet some of the newer cachers that weren't around yet as of last years get together. Kudos to all that were involved with putting it together & making it happen.
By the way, did anybody ever find HingeThunders cache? Sure were enough folks looking for it.
Posted by dgridley on June 02 2002,12:23 pmNice pictures! Looks like you all had a great time with a good turnout! Thank god you didn't have it here in Virginia yesterday as the temp was 100 degrees and HUMID!

and I tipped one to you NaviCachers at 11:30AM your time, 9PM mine.
Maybe next year!
p.s. Was there any WheresGeorge activity? Any of them show?
Posted by Quinn on June 02 2002,3:01 pmI didn't see any "Georging" going on but I am sure there were a few traded under the picnic tables.
Hinge Thunders Cache was found and his coordinates were correct! you just wouldn't believe me if I told ya!
Posted by Firemedic on June 02 2002,8:15 pmI gave one out to someone going to Europe. Switched one out at Brodies Box cache that morning.
Posted by Hinge Thunder on June 03 2002,12:49 pmI saw the pictures, and somehow, I managed to avoid being captured on film! I guess I will remain mysterious. Maybe, I need to wear a goofy hat?
Did anyone get pictures of the cache hunt? A before, and after might be interesting. I took one picture with my digital at the start when a couple people were searching. Haven't loaded it into my computer yet. I wish I had taken more pics.
Posted by Quinn on June 04 2002,3:42 amThink again Thunder... Kite wizard was kind enough to send me more picnic pictures which I added to the "NEWS" page that is linked on our main page... or you can just go here... < Navicache News and Picnic for Upstate NY. >
