Seems I had an old Nextel cellphone case hanging around that would probably have made a great Etrex case as well... anyone seen cases for GPS units? They must make them!

I found some cases on e-bay over Christmas time.  But none seemed to fit the III+.  Then I came across "The GPS store".  Found a very nice case for the III+.  FYI my sister bought it for Mike for Christmas.  Then she did a cache in Shallote NC.  The cache was in the back of this store......Heading down that way the end of this month..........

Try a photo shop.  there's a lot of point-n'-shoot and digital camera cases that are about the right size.

Umm...Fry's (if you care to go there) sells GPS cases made by Garmin for the eTrex series.  They're neoprene and have a cutout for the joystick there.  I have one of the older cases I used with my eTrex Summit and it worked great (no cutout for the joystick so can't really use it with the new Legend I just got...)

Other places have them too...I've seen them at Best Buy.

I think pretty much any GPS site you visit should have them. Caron bought me a full size case with zipper and belt loop that can be used with the Gold or any of the Garmin line.
Cheap too!

Now if someone would only make a decent functional case for the Mag Meridian line !
And with a lanyard as Magellan forgot to include a place to put one  :(

My Meridian is close in size to my HP-48 calculator.  Maybe you could find a case for one of those.

The ultimate gps case isn't too bad either.  Check out www.gpsoutfitters.com

Doesn't that suck? I love my MagMeridian, but trying to have it at hand, but not IN HAND is a major PITB.

I found a case (in a Fred Meyer in Brookings, Oregon) made by CaseLogic that holds my Meridian in the larger back pouch, my PDA (Compaq IPaq 3635) in the smaller front pouch, my mini-maglite in the side pouch and business/geocaching calling cards in the small pocket on the back. All of that on a strap that can be suspended around my waist or worn over the shoulder... of course, my GPS isn't visable when it is inside, and I too would prefer a clip for a neck lanyard... but I guess I can't have everything (with me)...  :oo:
