Topic: Cache pages with sound

Posted by DxChallenged on May 09 2002,1:24 pmHey! So although I am far from techy...I just posted my first cache with picture and music.... I realize that a number of us have dial up connections (I'm one of those but it's really rather fast) so these additions can make for an extra long load time.
I posted our THE HOBBIT - BAG END CACHE on the 7th. It's a collaberative project with Mike Chim (he basically helped me cut and paste in the info...but man I must say it seems to so cool that it works and that I did it). So far we have posted 4 caches and this is the first with sound. It is a special cache as it goes with the Tolkien theme and also has a block from the Tolkien quilt project in it.....
So my question is do you like these sound ones? and how's mine
One other thing.....I put in exactly the same stuff on the other site and here........It all runs way better here! The sound is clearer and the picture stays within my viewing frame....Why do you think that this is so?

Took a while to load via Dial-Up in India & was choppy. At work (faster LAN connection), I had to quickly reduce speaker volume before everyone finds out I'm a NaviSlacker.
Did you see the other thread on "sound"? There's quite a few posts & ideas. There's the option of letting Page viewers decide if they want to hear the music or not. Imbedding the sound as an .mp3 or .mid would bring up MediaPlayer (or similar app) with an on/off switch and volume control.
