Posted by 300mag on April 03 2002,3:18 pmWe are planning on going to the U.S during my holiday's.Around July 24 to 31. We will be visiting the medieval fair in Sterling near Syracuse/Rochester area. What else is there to visit around those cities? Yes we will also do a few caches too.
Thanks for all your good info/advice

Any/all of the Finger Lakes. And don't miss Letchworth State Park (and all the caches there).
Posted by Quinn on April 04 2002,8:42 amI agree...watkins Glen is very nice as well if you get that way.
Posted by Rob on April 20 2002,9:47 amIf you make it to the San Diego east county mountain area drop me a line (or anyone else on these forums for that matter). Be glad to put you up, no charge. Warning, it would be under primitive, camping type conditions though, still under a roof. (in the summer it's desert like conditions!) See www.robranch.com
Posted by YardBoy on April 20 2002,2:08 pmOswego, a college town with lots of shopping, is right next to Sterling & has a speedway.

You scared me there Rob, I thought you were going to send him to El Cajon. Descanso is a nice little town, and I'd kill for some cider from Julian.
It's actually embarrasing how many times I drove up and down 79 for no reason whatsoever. Just a way for a young man to clear the thoughts from his head.
I could use a hotdog from that little stand in Pine Valley too.
According to the Garmin topo, the "Easy Pickens" mine is located here: N32 40 32.7 W116 00 53.8
There's a "road" that runs near it so I doubt anything will be there but I'd be tempted to check out "Easy Pickens".
It's in the state park so trespassing shouldn't be an issue.

Found it, (on the map that is). Iíve been trying to get to that area for quite a while. I have a cache planned and prepared for the Jacumba area but I just canít seem to get away. Iíd better hurry because soon it will be a lot hotter. Blasted home projects; and then there was that weekend I had to do the taxes.
Spent a few hours on 79 myself. A good drive for clearing the head.
Posted by YardBoy on April 25 2002,5:19 amYou've done your taxes already?
On my biz trips to San Diego, I've twice GeoDashed thru Anza Valley, Julian (stopped for pie) & back down 79 to 8. It is a peaceful area (as appears the RobRanch garden).
It figures that this month, there's a DashPoint right in SD.
