hi there! can anyone help me? I tried uploading the new firmware to my GPS 320 but my pc hanged and the upload was not completed. Now I cannot power up my gps anymore. Is there a way to reload the firmware? I tried using the tricks for the MAP330 but it doesn't work with the 320...

I have a Mag315, not a Mag320... but they are in the same family.

The good news is the Mag315 will go into expert software upload mode by holding the NAV and GOTO keys while powering on.

This means your Mag320 should also behave in the same manner.

It should display "SOFTWARE UPLOAD MODE ACTIVE".

If you see it, you can continue on with the firmware update.

Thanks. I tried the suggestion but when I press the GOTO and NAV keys while powering up all I get are screen flickers and then nothing... any other suggestion?

Try MARK and GOTO, in case your unit had firmware before the 3.0 series.

If this doesn't work, then hope the firmware loading portion was previously loaded and the screen display portion wasn't.

Put it in the expert upload mode (although the screen won't display it), and try uploading the firmware.

The best result would be a functioning unit, otherwise, you're no worse off than you are now, and will need to call/e-mail Magellan customer service for repair (or possibly upgrade?).

Good Luck!

George
