I was just checking out their board, and there are a LOT more caches listed there than anywhere else (Russian caches, that is). Not that the average cacher would even bother, but I am planning on going back in the spring/summer, for the third time. Maybe this time out, I can legally bring my GPS with me.

There is a problem with the legality of a GPSr there?

Yes and no. There are conflicting laws, generally unenforced, some of which require that a GPSr be downgraded to pre-SA precision, and some exempting personal-use varieties of GPSr's from the precision requirements.
I always bring a GPS when visiting, but I also avoid using it in crowded places.
BTW you may not be able to get a taste of Russian geocaching since their rules prohibit posting of caches in big cities (same common-sense avoid-the-crowd, stay-safe-from-cops-and-muggles line of reasoning but perhaps taken too far).
So unless you visit small towns / countryside, you aren't gonna be able to find any geocaching.ru stashes!
