Hi, all,

What types of caches can be listed here? Are virts or locationless being approved?

Thanks,
- Team Og.

Yes Virtual caches are permitted. As for locationless caches, if you are referring to the type where one must find a specified object for example and then post a picture and its coordinates, no these are not being accepted at this time. If you are referring to something else (there appears to be many definitions for locationless), then let us know.

Locationless seem to have two major types right now.  Buxleys has identified the scavenger hunt type where you have no specific location you can find what you are looking for and you go out and get the coords.  Then the mapquest type (I forget what Ed called these) where you know or figure out the coordinates you seek before you leave the house but there is neither a virtual or cache there.  Things like the "county high point" fit this description.

If there are more variations I'd like to hear about them!

I adore locationless caches and wish we could make some more of them.

Thanks for your help!I have one or two scenic locations in mind to place a virt, and these locations wouldn't be helped any by a box full of mildewed junk.

No problem. Sometimes the location itself can be a treasure enough to make the find worth while.

By the way, this has got to be a record for a delayed response!  :grinnin

Just a suggestion, but take a look at < Key Cache > for an example of how to set up a virtual cache so that there's still some of the thrill of the hunt left for the last 10 meters.

Hell, being within 10 meters of that cache would be all the thrill I would need!  :grinnin
