With all the cameras and logs in all the caches that have been placed, I'd like to see some new pics posted online here.

I enjoyed seeing the contributions so far.. how about someone stepping up to the plate and submitting new photos to be placed online?

I FIGURE THEIR MUST BE 50 CAMERAS OUT THERE AND NO ONE HAS SENT ANY IN ALL YEAR.
I WAS ALSO WONDERING ABOUT ALL THE WHERESGEORGE DOLLARS THAT ARE IN THE OLDER CACHES. SHOULDNT THE OWNER GET SOME OF THESE BACK IN CIRCULATION? WHILE THE WEATHER IS STILL GOOD MAYBE SOME OWNERS COULD CHECK ON THE CAMERAS AND THE WHERESGEORGE DOLLARS. JUST A THOUGHT, QUINN IS ALWAYS TELLING ME TO SHARE SOME OF MY THOUGHTS. SO THIS IS IT. THE REST I REALLY CANT PUT IN PRINT.

yup...thats my mother-in-law!
umm...Caron? when you use cap letters it means you are yelling. Not that I mind however and you can yell alllll you want, I was in no way what-so-ever saying that yelling is a bad thing, so don't put anything strange in my X-mas dinner :looking:  Those "George" dollars will always be good when found. The Caches will survive the winter in our area and the weather that comes from other areas as well. thus come spring you will see these bills being logged again.
As for the camera's the ones that I took are on the way to PC_medic for addition to the site, and if anyone else would like some added just e-mail them or contact us for a mailing address for scanning. Not sure why but I had two pix of Yardboy and my cat chewed on both of them. Funny thing was that he was the only picture that the cat liked to chew on, but they are saveable and will be added :p

I could be wrong but, sending pictures of Yardboy through the mail could possibly be considered a terrorist act   :grinnin

I THINK YOU MISSED THE KEY WORD, I M CONCERNED ABOUT THE BILLS BEING IN THESE CACHES FOR  6 MONTHS TO A YEAR AND NOT BEING CIRCULATED.AS FAR AS CHRISTMAS DINNER GOES I WAS GOING TO SEE IF ROAD KILL HAD ANY IDEAS.

The data base for Wheres George will still find these bills and also show the dates of logs even if they sit for over a year. Winter does have it's moments in certain areas and this is something that we just have to deal with. pssst...your yelling again. :D

CARON
I HERE YOU SHOUTING WAY DOWN HERE IN THE SOUTHERN-TIER!  SORRY BUT I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION UNTIL I HEARD MY NAME.

CARON SAID "AS FAR AS CHRISTMAS DINNER GOES I WAS GOING TO SEE IF ROAD KILL HAD ANY IDEAS".

IT REALLY WASN'T SO MUCH HEARING MY NAME AS IT WAS SEEING "ROAD KILL" & "CHRISTMAS DINNER" IN THE SAME SENTENCE.

I'M BOOKED FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER BUT I HAVE PLENTY OF VENISON. YOU BRING THE WINE - I'LL COOK THE VENISON. IF NOTHING ELSE WE'LL CAUSE A BUZZ IN THE NAVICACHE FORUMS.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

OK, have been working on new format for the Photo Gallery, and while it is not complete yet, it is now online and viewable.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Way to go, PC. I like the new format. Worked flawlessly for me. Pics from Quinns caches came out nice. Good job. :^:

OK guys. What would be the preferred method for getting you pics for the photo gallery. I've got cameras from 4 of my caches that I have to have developed. Should I get 2 sets of prints & send a set to navicache. Just scan a set & e-mail them off to one of you. Scan a set & burn them on to a cd & send it to you. Or just have the developer give them to me on photo cd & burn a copy of each & send off to you.Whats your pleasure. Going to have them developed this week. Should be roughly 80-100 pics, assuming they all came out as viewable.

Well, one thing I've found is, it's worth it to spend an extra buck or 2 for a decent disposable camera. The Sunoco ones seem to do good & obviously the Kodak ones are OK, but I picked up a few while in Vics pharmacy one day,(their own brand name) & the pics didn't come out too well at all. I forget what I paid for them, but I won't do it again. And from now on I'll for sure go with the flash cameras all the time. Got some good Quinn shots & in one of Yardboys, he even has a shirt on. Must have been chilly that day. :grinnin . Got some good Bob Bowter shots too. Where is he anyway? Roadkill & his group from work are there, as well as BlackWatch Clan. Haven't heard much from them either.Picture cd's are nice too. They have thumbnails of all the pics right on the cd's front face. Never got them before. Also got a whole bunch of new faces I don't recognize.

Gimpy...if you can make a copy of that Cd that would be great. If not maybe zip them up and e-mail them to me, this would work also. Do you have them listed per cache?
Posted by PC Medic on Mar. 07 2002,8:09 pm
Yes! Please remember to include a label of what pics go to what cache. Quinn thinks I am psychic and sends me pics that are not labled  :0
Posted by Gimpy on Mar. 08 2002,1:35 am
Yup. Got them seperated into 4 groups, 1 for each cache. I'll sort thru & pull out the ones that are not legible & get back to you with numbers & file size.

Hey Gimpy,

I think that we are in a number of your px.

Oh yeah......you can pick us out as we are the stellar looking family that is camera shy...usually 1/2 of us have our faces hidden.

Gimpy, do you have access to webspace or FTP space?

Emailing large files might be okay with these fine folks but I've always preferred to upload and send the URL.

Many mailboxes have a 3 to 5 MB limit and after they're full they start bouncing mail.

I just wanted to point this out, it might not apply at all in this case but it's one of those weird online-etiquette things that some people might get worked up about.
Posted by Gimpy on Mar. 08 2002,11:29 am
Yup, Choberiba. As soon as I get them sorted & loaded, I'll have them up on my site, < http://www.glstrong.com > , & then forward them to Quinn. And yes Dx, I was wondering who the large family was in a few of the pics. After the're up, let me know if they be you. :grinnin

Well considering they are loading fine on my end (IE5.5 , IE6, Netscape 6.2) you will need to be a little more specific.

For starters, what browser are you using, And what do you see when you go to this page?
I ask as you seem to have trouble on several pages that no one else has reported issues with.

I am using Netscape 4.79. No one I know uses Netscape 6.x. Everyone seems to think it sucks, including me. I tried it twice and gave up.

When I load the pages in netscape, the img links look like:
< http://www.navicache.com/galleries/mendon1cam2/mendon > 8b.jpg

Under IE they look like:

Netscape doesn't seem to like the %208, %201... etc stuff in the img names.
Posted by PC Medic on May 10 2002,9:06 pm
Now that I see the problem you are having I know what to do to correct it.

The file names do not contain the " %20 " that you refer to. This is actually put their by IE4+ and other browsers to reconcile spaces in a file name, allowing the path to link correctly. Netscape 4.7 (unlike 6) is not capable of doing this and will read a file name only until a space is encountered and then choke.

I will make the changes at first opportunity.

Netscape 6.2 sure looks pretty but you're right.. it does indeed suck! I'll stick with IE, just like the other 70-odd percent of the market...

You guys should try a real browser like Konqueror or Galeon!  ;0o

Back when RK still had real hair, I tried the Opera browser on a 386 with 4MB RAM.

BTW, Brian, asking for browser version, etc. is great HelpDesk technique.  Ready for a job in 100F. India?  We get "experts" trying to run multimedia, Java scripted pages on Netscape 2.x under Windows 3.1

Guess we all know what I do for a living now  :grinnin

By the way, we get those same "experts" here in 95F Virginia!
You would be amazed how many "Software Engineers" don't know how to get to Control Panel in Windows, or how many "MIS" people don't know what BIOS is, or how to get there.

Yes sir! Gotta Love em.

Excuse me, but I am one of those "Software Engineers" and I know where the Control Panel for my Windows are. It's that little hand crank thingy that opens it. Right?!?!?!?

And as for BIOS, thats spanish as in BIOS CON DIOS! :p

The issue with images not displaying in the galleries for Netscape users should now be corrected.

At the request of the ever patient  :grinnin  "Gamma Kitt",
Pics from the < "Crescent Hill" > and < "Wadhams Walk" > caches have been added to the Photo gallery.

Be sure to check them out!   :^:
