Groundspeak has retracted it's permission for "< GC4C World Wide Event - Laurel, MD >" because of it's "religious-orientation".

Of course, the cache page itself stated, "These events, are OPEN TO ALL and are simply designed to be a chance for all cachers to gather and enjoy a time of friendship and camaraderie."  I'd also made a change that they'd requested yesterday, but instead of coming back with another suggested change, they decided to simply retract it.

Of course, this means war! Maybe not, but the event is still listed on both Navicahe and Terracahing and I am moving full steam ahead.  If you live in the area, I hope you'll try to make it and enjoy the company of your fellow cachers.  I've also written to everyone that had already posted a Will Attend log and others to make sure they know that our event is still on whether or not GS wants to list it.  They are not the boss of me!  :P

< Navicache Listing >

If you have any comments you want to check the threads on this, you can check my posts on the following sites or simply reply to this - < GC4C >, < MAGC >, or < MGS >.

Needless, to say, this is looking less and less like a "world wide event" now, but I won't let THEM ruin our fun.

Happy Trails,

I guess it should not surprise me to hear something like this.
Perhaps the next time I get asked why there is more than one site I can reference this post along with others.

While I am no bible slinger, I certainly have no problem openly admitting my beliefs in God (came to close to meeting him recently :grinnin  ) The way I see it, if folks don't want to take part in your event so be it, but I approved the listing and leave that choice to them.

Thanks.  We hope you'll take some time to check < GC4C > sometime.  Glad you made it through your close call, too!
