Geocaching is really taking off in New Zealand. I just couldn't resist being the first to post to this section of the forum. :)

Hello, Nemesis. So, tell me, what are "crickets" in the chat room?

As far as I know, "crickets" are people who enter a chat rooms and then leave almost right away (without waiting for others to turn up or reply). In this way, you can see that others have been in the chat room just before you, but nobody was there simultaneously. This problem can be solved by setting regular meeting times in the chat room. :)

Hey, New Zealand! One of my "gotta visit before I die" places.. after Japan, China, Russia, and Brazil!

Seriously, I'd love to visit there someday... 'course a steady job would help  :)

I was lucky enough to visit New Zealand's South Island back in 1986 to see Halley's Comet. It's a beautiful country and is on my list of places to visit again someday.

Of course I'll have to find a cache or two next time I go tramping around NZ!  :grinnin

Sooooo... ya all want to visit, but there's nobody here from NZ?

Wait no more!  I have arrived :p

Just found out about geocaching, signed up in about three places now- one specifically Kiwi.... I guess that's where all the locals are :)

I assume you mean http://www.gps.org.nz , definitely a bookmark to have if you are geocaching in New Zealand. But your opinions and experiences are welcome here, too.

After finding this site, I found there was only 1 cache in the whole country and that was not even a real one. So I have taken upon myself to populate " The Land of the Long White Cloud" with as many Navicaches as I can.

:D :D
