These forums are great and all the information about geocaching is here.  I have been checking these forums out for over two years and think it would be cool to have an off topic forum.  Geocaching.com has an ot forum but you have to pay for it.  ???   With winter coming up and geocaching slowing down a little bit due to the weather, I think it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.  I also know that the Navicache team doen't promote or advertise this site too much, so an ot forum just might draw more members here.

There have always been two forums where posts 'slightly" off topic from geocahing could be posted. This would be Misc. Information of Interest and the General Discussion forums. Do we want a free for all of totally non-geocaching topics started in these or any forums, no we do not. After all this is a geocaching related website and there are plenty of other places on the web for this type activity. Forums topics take up SQL server space and it can be used quickly if some control of topic is not enforced.

If you are looking for just general chit-chat activity perhaps scheduling a Chat session would be a way to see if others are interested.

What about starting a Yahoo group for our off topic stuff?
I could have one set up in 5 minutes.
