Can you explain how the state, city and ZIP fields are filled in when a cache is listed?

On the cache submission form, only the "state" field is present. It is a pulldown menu for US/Canada and a free text field for elsewhere. There is no field for city or ZIP, but somehow those are getting filled in.

When you edit your own cache, the fields "city" and "ZIP" appear. From another forum, I'm told that you can't edit the "city" field to correct mistakes. Why not?

P.S. It would be nice if there were a preview button on the cache submissions.

On the submission form when you enter the coordinates for the cache they are compared against our U.S. ZipCode Database and this is then used to populate the ZipCode and City Fields on the cache listing page.

Is this a problem you have actually experienced, or just something that someone had told you? I ask because you should in fact be able to edit the "City" field should it for some reason be in error. If you find an occasion where you can not do this, please be sure to

I won't argue that with you and I know you are going to hate this next response  :(  , but I can tell you it is on the list.

It is a bug with the city lookup routine... it shouldn't execute when a city name has been entered. :(

It's on the bug list and we're slowly knocking things off the list. :)

You can now view/edit caches prior to cache approval. :D
