After much debate with myself and also with others I have decided to start getting my butt in gear to make an addition of window decal's and maybe some other items to help spread the word about Geocaching and our family of members here at Navicache.com

What I have been doing the past couple of days is to figfure out just what type of Logo would best describe the sport and the website. If any of you have had a brain storm of what you would like to see placed on Cache stickers, static stickers, perhaps key chains and shirts, by all means express your idea's here or e-mail me.  I like to get opinions from the people that visit the site before I go to an outside source, after all, who would know Geocaching better than the people that take part in it.
Also if there is something else you would like to see added to the list of products let us know about that as well. :)

Sounds great. What I would really like is a good quality Navicache hat. Of the baseball cap variety. I had an inexpensive one made up but would really like a nice one. A good quality hat with an embroidered Navi-emblem. I made up a couple of sweatshirts too, & they really look nice with the navicache emblem. Bumper stickers would be nice. I like the static ones, but with tinted windows all the way around, I'd have to put an actual sticker type on the outside of the window. And how about travel mugs. I've got the Navi-mug, but something for the road would be nice. How about " I Follow Signals From Above". Sound too religious?

Bumper Stickers!, Decals!, Now why cant I have ideas like that?  :D

As for Gimpy's suggested phrase, we must think a lot alike, as I had bounced around a few possibles a while back and one was "I get my directions from above". May sound like it has some religion to some people, but hey, what's wrong with religion? I mean I religiously check for new caches in my area every day  :D Edited by PC Medic on --

"Do it with battery operated handhelds at NaviCache.com!"
"NaviCache.com?  Take a hike!"
"I found my way at NaviCache.com"

Should I stop? ???

I'd like a rear window, static cling banner or a license plate frame.

I wouldn't mind getting a few stickers.Something like 4" by 4" or so would be good. I'd stick one on my 4x4. You can then spot cachers vehicles when caching . You could even place some in caches etc... I'd even put one on my work vehicle. This would be seen a lot .

There was a similar post on the other site...g something....How about embroidered patches?  Navicache.  Patches that reflect level of cacher (not that we're competative or anything)   :wave

I could put a patch on my GPS case........  Patches could also reflect monumental accomplishments in geocaching....# of placements...ok Gimpy would get a really big one....# of finds...creativity   :D

Navicache stickers would be useful for me as well.  I would use them on the two ammo boxes which I've just bought, and intend to take the sticky labels off, which the Army applied, and repaint the box using Hammerite.

I was thinking of making a paper stencil and sraying white paint (the Hammerite paint will be black) over to inform people about what's in the box.  (You know the sort of thing "Geocache - Contents are harmless").

A sticker would save all of that.  :D

Same here. I have no idea what it takes to get bumper stickers made up. Expensive?  Anyway, I would certainly prefer to use a Navicache sticker on my ammo boxes. Obviously we're not talking mass quantities here. I’d only use about 5 so it probably  wouldn’t be worth it to have a bunch made up. If I get a chance I’ll do a search for bumper sticker makers on the Internet. What do you call companies that make bumper stickers? LOL

Love the idea. Navicache Ammo box stickers in a camo motif.

Ledgable but with darker gray letters outlined in black and a dark brown back ground. Non-glossy.

I'm off to the drawing board.   :wave  :grinnin

Actually the owners of the site should consider just signing up with Cafepress.com! You can get a multitude of different items made at no cost to the site...you just add a small markup to the base cost for the item.

Not too hard, and the site owner(s) would have virtually NO OVERHEAD or INVENTORY to stock.

We had actually looked into (and even tried) the Cafe Press approach in the beginning. Problem was that while there was no upfront cost to us, prices there were so high that you could not offer an item to your users at a reasonable price.

Perhaps I will take a look to see if their pricing has become any more reasonable in the past couple years.

As much as it kills me to say this....

Use Sam Walton's approach.....keep small markups and make the money on quantity.

Failing that.....

Try your local SignsNow or Kinkos for window stickers. I have had many made at SignsNow for under $10.00 I would suspect that asking them to make 30-50 or more at a whack would get ya a cut rate.

Check out www.makestickers.com

Pretty reasonable prices, and seem to be of good quality as well.

I may order a couple samples to see what kind of quality we are talking about here. Would prefer 'clings' as I won't use a sticker myself, but some members have voiced an interest.

I would like to see cache stickers, as Roadkill suggests Camo, darkish colors, and low/non glossy.
A window cling or bummer sticker might also be nice, but cache stickers first... please? ???

Is a bummer sticker what you get when you can't find the cache?   :;):

I would be interested in T-Shirts and bumper stickers.  Most important though is that price AND SHIPPING be reasonable.  I hate finding cool things at reasonable prices but having to pay through the nose for shipping.

We are in the middle of working up an additional Logo for Navicache thus we wanted to wait a bit before having shirts made up. Once we have the image in place we will have shirts back online for orders.   :)

I am actually looking into some different vendors now. We of course want to have a quality product, but at the best price for those interested. I will try to keep everyone posted as much as possible.

We had the shirts until just recently. Before reordering we are looking into different vendors so that we may be able to offer them at a lower price.
