|As cachers "evolve" in the pastime, and become members of the various caching organizations, the social aspect of the hobby takes on more significance. Certainly...hunting a cache(s) at an event is enjoyable, but the networking, camaraderie, and conversation that occurs at an event (any size)...is the glue that holds an organization together. I do not feel that cache hunting is necessary in order to have a successful event.|
I will echo Bill's comments. It's nice to be able to get together with other cachers, swap stories, share advice, impart caching wisdom and build relationships with others.
This can happen with or without a specific cache being placed for the event.
thanks for the chance to contribute.
