Hi folks.  Hopefully this won't be against the rules.  I'm in the process of writing some new geocaching software.  I'm looking for people who would like to test the software out and/or give me suggestions as to things that should be included.  It will kinda be like EasyGPS and GSAK with features that I don't find in either.

If anyone would like to help...please let me know.  I'll get back to you as soon as the first beta version is available.

Thanks in advance,

Gregwa :D

So far I do not see a problem, providing it is of interest to the general geocaching community as a whole and it is not used to promote sales of a finished product.

If you wish folks to contact you perhaps enabling your email contact in your profile (though that is up to you).

Perhaps you could shoot me some more info HERE

I would hope that a new generation of geocaching based software would be of intrest to the general geocaching community as a whole.  If I'm wrong here, please let me know.  It might cause me to rethink the entire idea of spending months of my time in writing software that I THOUGHT would be of use and intrest to the geocaching community.

at this precise time I was planning on giving the software away (freeware).

As far as I can tell, it is enabled.  However, if for some reason I am too dumb to figure out how to set up the system, my email of all to see is gregwa@ricochet.com

Finally, I have been trying to email someone/anyone at navicache since the 14th of the month about the possibility of working with navicache on this posting as well as usage of site information in the program and as late as yesterday.

Please forgive me if I seem a bit terse at this point, but you (hopefully) and others can see why I might be that way.

If there are any questions about the software or my intentions, please feel free to e-mail me. . . once again, that e-mail address is

The answer (as this is a public forum) was directed not only to you, but to others that may consider similar endeavors. The 'geocaching community as a whole' as in not geared to work with just one particular site.

That's fine, it wasn't metioned (that it was free) and again just a way of responding in a public forum so others are aware of the guidelines too.

Well, not saying you were dumb, only you did not the email contact option enabled. By the way, enabling it in your profile would have added an email button in your post without your "email address for all to see". Also helps keep SPAM bots from harvesting a listed  email address from your post

Well looking at your username and email and checking back through emails received here, I am guessing you are the one I put in touch with Robin. If this is correct I received a response from you on 1/5 thanking for that info and wishing a Happy New Year, but do not see anything else since.

Not sure where they went, but If you like ...  please resend.

More than likely....YES!
I appologize for the way it seems to have come out.  However, a programmers work is like their child.  Hundreds of hours and heartbreak go into creating a program, even to the alpha stage.  Then you have the Beta stage and then hopefully release.

As to my being the one that you put in touch with Robin, you are correct.  I will resend again.

Thank you for your quick replys, and your time.

I don't see why you might be that way.
