Today I found yellow jeep fever. You can read the log there, but in short it took much longer than I expected but persistence wins. This makes my tenth navicache.com geocache.

Thanks. And it would be nice if everyone could maybe post similar caches if you know some.  :grinnin

Thanks for the reminder.  I'd seen this before and just saw one the other day, but didn't get a pic.  My challenge - see if I can log this by the weekend.

Do you mean, what other locationless caches are out there?  After reading your post, I was curious as well, but couldn't figure out how to search caches by type.  Since virtuals, locationless, and moving caches are still allowed here, it'd be nice to hunt for them, since they're a unique experience compared to the GS site.  I tried a keyword search of title and description in the advanced search for "locationless," and found a bunch that were archived.  The few that weren't sounded interesting, such as a locationless about quadrivias (street intersections where four street names intersect).  Another was about pancake events, wherever there's a good pancake dinner or church pancake event, or even a restaurant.  The qaudrivia one sounds cool and I'll be on the look out for crazy intersections.  I would like to try some locationless caches, so if you hear of any, let me know or post on here.  I'll do the same.

Thanks for pointing them out. I was lucky and could also do the Hover dam cache, but I will not be able to do the second and will not try to do the third of his caches. :)

I came down with a case of "yellow jeep fever" while in Baltimore today.

Check out what I found on Google Maps when I was getting the coords - I was too lazy to go back out to my my CRV to get my GPS.  Yes, it is the same jeep, in the same spot!

Wow, congratulations! That is a nice one.

Guess what I saw today ... yes.  :D It will be difficult from now on _not_ to notice yellow jeeps.

Still looking for Yellow Jeeps.  Last Friday, I attempted this arm chair virtual puzzle:

http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/displaycache2.pl?CacheID=60

I don't know what your feelings are about arm chair virts (I haven't done one before), but this was set up intentionally for it by Scout and it was a lot of fun.  It's a multi stage that can be attempted both in person and online.  Clever set up.  Prepare to spend a couple of hours if you try it, trust me.

My previous search for locationless caches used "locationless" as the keyword in the search.  Thinking about it, I realized they're also called reverse caches, so I did a search using "reverse" to keyword search the descriptions.  I found two more:

The infamous Four Windows virt:

http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/displaycache2.pl?CacheID=11289

This one requires visiting a virt in Germany first:

Thanks.  I logged the Four Windows cache and sent the e-mail.  The owner only has the one cache there and has never found any NC caches, so I don't know if I'll hear anything back from him.

Don't see myself in Germany any time soon, though.

I officially became the FTF this morning after our Easter Sunrise Service at church.  Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah.  Guess that's why we have them on Shrove Tuesday (just before Lent) and on Easter morning and NOT during Lent.

A shame that the title of this thread doesn't fit the primary topic of LOCATIONLESS caches.

I logged my first Navicache in over a year, Saturday with Pennsylvania History Markers by cybermir.  The marker does not need to be IN Pennsylvania, but does need to relate to the state, if it is located elsewhere.

I was headed to the Philly area, but ended up finding a marker in New Castle, DE for William Penn's first landing in America, as I pulled up to stop sign.

So, if you're interested in logging locationless caches, keep your eye out.

Quote
The History Marker you descibe in your log must either:
-Be located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
-Have an obvious link to a famous Pennsylvanian
-Have an obvious link to a place in Pennsylvania
-Have an obvious link to an event in Pennsylvania’s history.

Thanks.  There are a couple more NC virts I hope to claim the next time I make it to the Philly area, as well.
