I've started a new HitchHiker named "Shaky" on his way at the Blair Witch cache near Hemlock Lake, south of Rochester, NY. He's an interestingly animated Mr. Potato Head (actually, a battery operated massager!) that I rescued from a yard sale.  If you run across him, please give him a lift to another cache, and log his travels here.  But be careful, if you push his buttons he'll walk all over you!

"Shaky" IS NOW RESTING COMFORTABLY IN SOUTH DANSVILLE, that is unless we push down on the top of his head, then he makes a eTrex under heavy tree cover, in a deep gully look calm.  I think he will be traveling this weekend to a new home, we will be sure to keep you POSTED.

Shaky went with me this morning as I had to replace my "West  Pike Fire Tower USGS Marker Cache", due to a bear attack.  When he saw what that bear did to the plastic cache container and the contents he really started to shake.  I quick shoved him in and closed the lid on the new, hopefully bear proof, 50 cal  amo can cache box before he could change his mind.  If he gets rescued soon I am sure he would'nt mind.

It appears that Shaky has taken a "Giant leap for Potatokind" from Rocky's West Pike cache to the Deer Lick cache in southern PA, courtesy of "Jamsbaer".  Maybe he's heading south for the winter!   Thanks to Rocky for letting me know!

Since Shaky's been cooling his heels in the Deer Lick cache since September, when someone finally visited there, I asked if they'd noticed him.  Apparently, he wasn't there!  I'm afraid he may have been kidnapped, although so far there's been no ransom demand.  An APB has been issued, but the local authorities don't offer much hope in cases like this.  With luck he may escape his captors and we may see him back in circulation soon.  We can only hope. :(
