If you need to do it when you don't have access to the web, then what you are trying to do is convert degrees, minutes and decimal minutes into degrees, minutes and seconds.
The first bit is easy, just drop the decimal minutes, so N51 27.108 is N 51 degrees 27 minutes.
There are 60 seconds in a minute, so all you have left to do is convert the .108 to seconds by multiplying by 60, i.e. 6.48, then round it to however many places of decimals your GPSr accepts.
