I was looking for info on the "pips", but couldn't find any post except for a welcome to "Mr. Pipps" from July, so I looked for rankings and found this thread.
I was curious as to whether the pips are based directly on number of posts or some more involved calculation. Currently, Hinge Thunder has 156 posts (3 pips) and Road Kill has 190 (4 pips), so I'm thinking maybe the cut of is around 175.
Of course, when I read PCMedic's original post...

Didn't realize so many paid any attention to what their "ranking" was, but reading some posts in a different thread seems some live by them.
...and looked at my signature (see below), I was a little self concious. Really, I just noticed one day that I'd entered the top 20 posters on the site and got a kick out of it. Since the forums are not very active, I've been moving up since then.
I do try not to post stuff to add to my posts, but also want to contribute the to the forums to encourage others to do the same. I visit the forums a couple of times a day and most of the time I do not post anything.
After reading this thread, I noticed for the first time that I am a "Global Maniac". CONUS (or continental US) Maniac would probably be more appropriate at this point, but I'm not sure how those are determined either.
All that said, I'm also still interested in how the number of pips is calculated.
