|Do you like geosnobs? Those omniscient cachers who belittle and berate others from their pulpits on the "rules" of geocaching never fail to repulse me. There's a clique of geosnobs that reign over those message boards and their abilities to be sycophantic to their masters never fails to sicken me. |
God bless Navicache and its utter lack of the geosnobs.
I need a Navicache sticker or cap to go along with my Calvin Cache shirt. Must show my support.
I agree about the "geosnobs". I think we all know who we are talking about, without naming names here. They are the ones who have 6 million posts and about 60 finds, yet they go around actually posting the "rules" in their messages, as if they are the self-appointed overlords of the site. The hostility over there has increased. I don't see any of that on the state boards that I have joined, or here at Navicache. It's a much friendlier atmosphere to be in!
Me: yep, I have been controversial at times, even shot my mouth off a time or two, but I try to help out newbies and those with questions as best I can and actually contribute to this sport. I always try to come up with innovative and "cutting-edge" types of caches. I even went so far to organize an effort to place a Tribute Plaque at the site of the first-ever cache. Please don't think I am blowing my own horn here, I am just trying to point out that I really DO try to contribute to a hobby I love, rather than become a "Forum God". At times I have a strong opinion and I stick to it, and I don't take bu****** from anyone. I will treat others with respect and expect the same back. Ok, enough of this. Gotta go cache!
A new cache just listed? Get outta my way!
