The other site has a stat banner that you can use on a web page, do we have the equivalent here?

By the way Scout (since it's on topic for this thread) thanks for fixing mine, even though I'm sure my username has no capitals in it  ???

In 'Your Control Panel' add the following code to your Signature...

The Navicache stats banner is not site-specific. It can be used outside of Navicache. Give us more information about your problem using it on MySpace and I'll to help.

Can I change my user name some how?
 I set up my navicache stat banner but realized for some reason my stats only show up when I use all lower case letters.
I would prefer to have IndyLocator instead of indylocator.
How can I do this?
Please help. :withstupid

I was wondering if there was any way of creating a status box like one can at either tc.com, or gc.com?

Yes, see my sig. But I'll defer to Scout, the creator of it, to come in and explain.

This topic has been covered before HERE

Just add the code in my post there to signature section your 'forum' profile. Make sure to edit it to show your user stats of course.

I'm presuming that it does update automaticly?  What about linking it to a cacher's profile page?  So that when a visitor to one of the other sites clicks on it, they're brought here?

Actually, it isn't that hard to make one's stat box linked to one's profile page all one has to do is the following:

>A HREF="http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/MyNaviCacheHome.pl"<
>img src="http://geocaching.gpsgames.org/cgi-bin/sig.pl?user=Digital_Cowboy&txt=Live Long and Prosper!!!" ALT="Profile for Digital_Cowboy" BORDER=0<
>/A<

Just reverse the <>

And as ya can see from my stat box it is now linked to my profile page.

No. Your link will work differently for everyone who clicks on it. It'll take the viewer to their own profile, not your (Digital_Cowboy's) profile. I'll let PC Medic supply the URL you need for that.

Ok, thanks, at least (I hope) I was headed in the right direction.

To create a link that would take others to your hides/finds you would use the following
Code Sample
http://www.navicache.com/cgi-bin/db/memberdetails2.pl?MemberID=xxxx

replacing the xxxx with your member ID number.

By the way, we had two separate threads currently running on this same topic, so both have been merged here.

First question.. it seems my stat banner is broken. It shows to me that I have 2 caches hidden, but monday or so I added 6 or 7 more caches bringing my total up to 9 (I think). Stat banner hasnt updated here or at that other site to reflect that.
It will show where I changed text in the banner, went from "Do the Rock" from RHPS's Tim Curry to "DAR84", my plate. but nothing else changes.

Second question.. how do you find out what your 4 digit is? I thought I knew it was but it didnt work either. Or do I need to put a 0 at the beginning of it to make it work?

Thanks,

Diane

Though the 'Stat banner' is actually provided by Scout over at gpsgames.org, he does use a script we provide to access our database and update his info. Unfortunately we are having a sudden and unexpected bit of an issue with the script at the moment. hope to have it sorted soon.

Any idea how I find my number now so when the stats banners are fixed I can customize it better?

I know, I'm being a PITA but I figure it never hurts to ask. hehe.

DiS02, I manually updated your hide count. The automatic update is still not working.

Sorry, "long" names get truncated to fit the width of the banner.

Stats are updated only once a week. If your "found" was more recent, just wait. If it's older than that, let me know which cache it was and I'll look into it.
