I found it! 01 Sept 2002    Captain Hook's Hideaway III  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Cache 8 of 11 for today.

Neat park area! Too bad we couldn't cut through though... water strategically placed.

Took: centipede
Left: Frog with squishy eyes, army guy, alien with parachute, and hacky sack, and of course signed/stamped the log book.

I found it! 01 Sept 2002    Two Simple Men  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

6 of 11 for today....

Found the spot without any problems and answered a few questions right there. Had to do some research later on just like the instructions said. We were a bit worried that we hadn't gathered all the information we needed before moving on. Ran into an architectural student who was familiar with the artwork also. Sounded interested in Geocaching. Thanks for the lesson.

I found it! 01 Sept 2002    Jerry & the Abolishionists  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

4 of 11 for today...

Very pretty part of downtown. Also took a couple minutes to realize where the star was located. Answers passed to Anton. Thanks!

I found it! 01 Sept 2002    Oh Captain! My Captain!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Cache 11 of 11 for today.

Ugh. More stairs. After 10 caches, stairs were not a happy sight. We mananged to use our last bit of energy to scale the stairs. Photo taken of cache, mailed to Anton.

I found it! 25 Aug 2002    Moose River Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was our first cache for the day out of 5. Great scenery and we were also treated to a train passing by.

Took: Harmonica & Trash (including someone's tennis shoes, so if you're missing any, let us know)

Left: Army guy, alien with a parachute, and a hacky sack, and of course signed/stamped the log book

I found it! 25 Aug 2002    Bald Mountain Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

Cache 3 of 5 today.

Talk about a heck of a workout!!! Especially if you were my husband with a backpack on and a 3-year-old on your shoulders! After huffing and puffing our way up, we got within 40' of the cache. Then it was up to me to bushwack a bit while my husband pointed me in the right direction. (Stable GPS is much easier to nav with, so we've discovered.) Found it with minimal difficulty if you don't count the walk up.

Took: Nothing but trash back out
Left: Alien with parachute, army guy, hacky sack, and of course signed/stamped the log book.

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Morningside Conundrum  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

VICTORY!! Was in Syracuse for the very cool 2002 Geocacher's Picnic and HAD to go back. Had been told by the owner that it was actually still there. What ended in failure after 2 hours before turned into success after only 20 minutes this time. Just needed to open our minds a bit. Not only was this a good find after our previous luck but it was also number eight of eight today...our new record.

Took: Giant Rubber Fly and Dragonfly
Left: Hacky Sack, Alien with Parachute, Army Guys and of course signed/stamped the book.

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Clark's Revenge  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

Well, this was the fourth of eight today counting the 2002 Geocacher's Picnic. Got pretty disoriented trying to match up that brocure with our map. Ran into another group named 7WINS and did some major bushwacking with them. Got pretty cut up in the process but finally found it....and the trail that goes right past it. Typical.

Took: Nothing
Left: Blowfish, Alien with Parachute, Army Guys, and of course we signed and stamped the book.

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Clark's Pulpit  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well, this was the fifth of eight today counting the 2002 Geocacher's Picnic. Yet another group find. GPS led us right to it and the photo gave it away.

Took: Clay
Left: Blowfish, Army Guys, Alien with a Parachute and of course we signed and stamped the book.

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Clark's Outback  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well, this was the sixth of eight today counting the 2002 Geocacher's Picnic. Not too tough to find. One member of the group we geocached with today actually came across it without the GPS.

Took: Stamped Our Book
Left: Our Stamp...Army Helicopter Stamp

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Clark's Cliff Trek  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Well, this was the seventh of eight today counting the 2002 Geocacher's Picnic. Got within about 20 feet and then spotted what I thought would be a good spot. We were right.

Took: Nothing
Left: Army Guys, Alien with Parachute, and of course we signed and stamped the book.

I found it! 13 Jul 2002    The Klondike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Nice area for a cache if you exclude the millions of deer flies. Even bathing in DEET didn't help. Took a self-portrait... (family of 4, Spongebob shirts). Took a children's card game.

Took: Children's Card Game
Left: Mayan worry dolls, Dragonfly, Fish Pencil Topper, and of course Signed/Stamped the Book
