I found it! 21 Feb 2006    yellow jeep fever  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Throughout my caching I have taken numerous photographs of Yellow Jeeps, but have never claimed one. Well, it is time to finally log this historic scavenger hunt.

Thank you for establishing another fine game. I appreciate it.

I found it! 12 Jan 2006    Pennsylvania History Markers  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Meriwether Lewis prepared for his journey with Mr. Clark in Philadelphia. In addition to the disc at the mint, the PA Historical Society erected this historical marker at Logan Square outside the Academy of Sciences.

I found it! 26 Feb 2005    Swamp Thing  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

As I approached, there was a couple on the observation deck. I moved slowly in stealth mode. Each step creeked, but they did not hear me. It ocurred to me that I might be walking on frozen swamp. But then thought better of that, even if I was correct. I spotted the likely location, but it was then the couple descended from the deck and headed my way. I took off my orange hat and waited for them to pass. I am pretty certain they spotted me. Oh well . . .

Sure enough, the cache was where I suspected it would be. I was expecting an ammo box from Mr. Snat, but it was a sizeable locking plastic container. Opening it I saw weathered contents. Again, not quite what I expected. Some of the pages of the logbook had fallen loose. But I began reading. This cache had been placed three days before I began caching. It is not often that I find a cache that old. Swamp Thing was actually on my closest list back in the old days. Now, it has been a long time since this has been on my closest To Do list, but it was nice to find it anyhow. The area was beautiful today with the snow along the swampy river area (Passaic River?). The logbook is a Who's Who of New Jersey caching, save the South Jersey folks. It was BassoonPilot's 112th find. Conner25 was in there. Lots of folks. I had no problem adding my log to it.

I found it! 25 Apr 2004    The Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Was in town this morning and drove over to the inlet. Two months is too long for a initial find.

This was an interesting tribute.

I found it! 21 May 2003    Right of Way  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I had planned on getting up early today and taking a run down here before work. I heard the pounding rain and rolled over. Enough of that.

I took a change of clothes just in case for after work. Indeed, there was no rain then. This is a familiar area.

The cache container reminded me of Mile Zero. I struggled to open it as my bent bottle opener attests.

It is good to see you back in action, Timely.

I found it! 27 Apr 2003    I'm Not Supposed to Be Here Today!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This was the last of my virtual hunting for the day. I needed to go pick up my wife at the end of her run. That proved to be an event in itself as 36 was bumper to bumper all the way to Long Branch! Anyhow, I got here without trouble. I snickered when I saw the place. Good one. There was a girl on a cellphone across the street who kept walking back and forth. Made for an interesting view.

Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 17 Jan 2003    Animal Magnetism  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

I was at a meeting two doors down and thought I should log a few.

I changed from my business attire to geocaching-wear in the parking lot of the museum. The horses were nearby . . . the cows were bunched together at a distance keeping warm on this cold day.

I walked down to the area. Is that a frat house next door? I walked in circles for a few minutes until I realized where this one was. My gps finally settled at 50-some feet away. There are high tension wires in the area that may affect readings.

I logged my find.

Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 30 Dec 2002    holiday cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

I was successful in finding this. Neat little park. I kept going back and forth on the islands to get to the other side. One path was wiped out with water . . . I didn't feel like getting wet. :) It was absolutely beautiful this morning.

I found the cache without issue. The bags were soaked, but the contents were fine.

Thanks for the hunt,

Note 30 Dec 2002    holiday cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

My apologies . . .

I left some electrical adapters I picked up some time ago . . . I think it was the Just Call My Cache the P-Cache.

The only thing I took was a shot of Bushmills.

I found it! 19 Oct 2002    Make My Cache The P-Cache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Found this one with no trouble. I had driven by here the other day on my way to a conference. I marked the turn off. Cache was in fine shape (everything brand-spanking new).

I left a Franklin Institute pencil holder (heart) and took the electrical adapters.

Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 14 Oct 2002    Willya Lookit the Caboose on THAT One!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This came out of nowhere! I was cruising down whatever road that is with someone tailgating. I knew I was getting close so I pulled over. As the tailgater went by, I peeked around the corner. I was surprised at what I saw.

Neat place.

Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 13 Oct 2002    Electric Bugaloo  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This was an easy find, but I should have remained in my car. I parked by the water. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant walk.

I left a water pistol and took nothing. Cache is in fine shape.
