Note 07 Nov 2005    Letchworth Fall Gathering IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Hi, sorry I'm so late to log the event. I guess it took this long for life to slow down afterward! Whew! What a wonderful day! It was well worth a year's work! The only time it rained was after I got my van unloaded up until just before the Gibsonville Tour started. Doug Bassett, the Park Guide, gave an interesting history of Gibsonville. When I got back from the tour the picnic had started with cachers eating in shifts so I didn't need to worry about over 188 people signed up to be in a shelter for 184 people. Everyone brought large amounts of interesting delicious food, drink, wood, & charcoal, etc.; so I didn't need to worry about feeding the crowds. As usual everyone helped with everything! Roland Beck, the Park Manager, not only spoke but also helped cook etc.. Road Kill sold so many raffle tickets that we can have at least two really nice raffle prizes next year.
Medic Dave's Radio Cache was a hit! Killer B and Brogan out did themselves again with their "Gathering Only" caches with great 1st to find prizes. I always say, "Next year I'll find them for sure." This year Strike Force 1 and Brogan really surprised me! I was even crawling on the floor looking for this one. When Strike Force 1 gave me the walking stick with the Coyote on the top I couldn't help crying for joy and disbelief. THANK YOU! I say next year for sure I'll stay for the Bon Fires with Jungle Hair & Kimmy Shimmy! They are reported to be such fun.
When people log on that they will be at the picnic I make a mental note of the names and think I really want to say "Hi". When the day is done I realize I hadn't begun to meet everyone. That means we'll have to do it again next year; four times is not enough.
Thank you to all who helped clean up! Thank you to ALL attendees, pat yourselves on the back, YOU successfully carried out another fun "Letchworth Fall Gathering"! See Ya!
Gamma Kitt & Hero "The Blackwatch Clan"

I am so pleased that my nephew from Florida is going to make it to his first Gathering. He is a newbie. There will be 4 in his group; they will bring applesauce. They will try to make the Gibsonville Tour. See Ya! Gamma Kitt

Note 20 Sept 2005    Letchworth Fall Gathering IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

SOME HAVE ASKED WHAT TO BRING. I SAY LOOK AT WHAT IS COMING ALREADY AND BRING WHAT YOU THINK WE NEED OR WHAT ELSE YOU WOULD WANT TO BE THERE. THINGS I SEE WE STILL NEED ARE: 2 OR 3 PKGS HAMBURG ROLLS, ANOTHER PKG OR 2 OF HOT DOGS & ROLLS, PERHAPS A FEW MORE CASSEROLE OR SALAD DISHES, ANOTHER BAG OF CHARCOAL, STARTER, MATCHES, PLASTIC PLATES, SILVERWARE & GLASSES OR HOT CUPS FOR THE COFFEE, & NAPKINS. WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO USE ANOTHER SET OF CATSUP, MUSTARD & RELISH.
I STILL HAVE MANY LARGE PLASTIC TRASH BAGS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. I HOPE TO BEGIN CLEANING UP AROUND 4:30 OR SO; HELP CLEANING UP WOULD BE GREAT! WE HAVE TO LEAVE THE SHELTER AS SPOTLESS AS WE FIND IT.

Note 31 May 2005    Iroquois Transplanted  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Gimpy, your hides are always worth walking for. The Honeysuckle and wild flowers were an added attraction. We hope you can make it to the next Letchworth Fall Gathering IV on October 15 Coyote would love to chat with you again. Left a tablet took a Jack Benny CD for Coyote who is in Strong Hospital right now. We found this one with Delta Team. See ya, Gamma Kitt

Brogan, can a new one be done again this year? Gamma Kitt fschutte@rochester.rr.com

Note 01 Oct 2004    Kreag Kache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Veni! Vidi! Vici! I'm only 5 ft with bifocals so it was good that 6 ft Coyote was able to manage part 1 of this one. What a great hide though. Part 2 was also a challenge, what a clever hide. The wonderful walk that eventually led to an ice cream at Abbots was great. Left a couple of small toys that kids might get a kick out of, took nothing. Can't wait to meet Chili Head at the Fall Gathering. Gamma Kitt & Coyote

Note 12 Jun 2004    2004 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Sunny but cold air, warm and friendly picnic. It was wonderful seeing Quinn, Yardboy, Gimpy, Harv & Donna, and all of our old friends; too many to name them all; again! The food was great! We did miss many of the original gang, for instance Road Kill, Delta Team and others. It was nice to finally meet some of the newer cachers. Our group gets bigger every day. See what you started Quinn?
Don't forget to mark the calendar for the Fall Gathering at Letchworth! See Ya! Gamma Kitt & Coyote, Blackwatch Clan

Note 27 May 2004    2004 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The Clan will be there with a dish of Baked Beans. We aren't too active caching anymore but we love to meet old friends and new. Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 21 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I sure did find it! I found it so great to see so many faces, new and familiar. I found the event cache by Rusty-O-Junk and Gandalf to be so tough yet easy. I found the variety of delicious dishes outstanding. I found the helpfulness of all terrific. I find the logs delightful! I find the pictures shared great fun. I found RoadKill to be the super brother I always knew he was. I wish I could thank each individual who attended in person, but perhaps that can be done when we meet again next year.
Thanks to all! Gamma Kitt

If you are looking for a nearby Motel, This one was used by some last year. Park Lake Motel, 55 N. Main St., Perry, NY,14530. Tele 1-585-237-3654. It is near the (Perry) Park Entrance. Rooms have sm. fridge, are spacious & clean. Gamma Kitt

Note 14 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Are you ready? We are! About 65 others, so far, are too! Last year we had over 150! Bring your GPS; there are a lot of caches in or very near the Park, get the coordinates etc. before you come.
We could still use some flipper holder things for turning hamburgers aadn hot dogs while cooking. We could use a few hot dogs & rolls. For 8 grills we will need some charcoal, starter, matches, & cooks. I was worried about too many cakes now we could usse some cupcakes aand cookies. How about some cidar and donuts? We need cheese to go with the crackers, soup bowls for the chili, hot cups for the coffee, and some regular coffee, Don't forget serving spoons for the salads, etc. Seasonal fresh fruit might be nice. If it is cold, we will want some firewood for the fireplace.
What have I forgotten? See Ya! Gamma Kitt

Note 06 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Read the food list of what is already coming dated 10/5.
Food Ideas: Remember NO MORE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES TO BE PLUGGED IN! How about some: fresh fruit salads etc., warm vegetable dishes (use an insulated carrier), scallop potato, beans of all varieties, squash, corn, cold salads, toss salad, dressings, cheese, crackers, potato chips, pretzels, coffee(regular), sugar, creamer or half/half, salt, pepper, sturdy plates, sturdy silverware, hot cups, napkins, firewood, charcoal & starter (for eight grills), another large coffee pot(for decaf coffee & decaf coffee), catsup, mustard, relish, chopped onions, soda pop(diet & regular), pans to heat water in on the grill, hot chocolate mix, more desserts.
Remember we don't need 20 cakes and 60 dozen cookies. Please let us know what you are bringing as soon as possible so this does not happen.
We have large garbage bags left from last year.
What ever we bring we must take out!
Thanks, Gamma Kitt & Coyote

Note 05 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This was simple once I remembered the KEY. Thanks for the fun hide! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I couldn 15 Jun 2003    Dino #1  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

We looked high and low for the cache. You said the co-ordinates were off by about 20 feet. Children were playing in the area you pictured so I presume a child found the hide and thought it was a treasure. If it is still there then I guess we need better co-ordinates or something. We'll have to look again. Gamma Kitt & Coyote

Note 08 Jun 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What a great time we had at the picnic! Met some "Newbies" and enjoyed meeting faces to put with familiar names. We appreciated those that were able to help with names on our cache photos, how did Rippie recognize his own foot? It was especially clever of Quinn to stop the rain so the meats could be cooked; or did RoadKill do a dance with his hat on? Anyway, we had a great time and look forward to the next gatherings; especially Letchworth! See Ya! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

Note 17 May 2003    Mendon Ponds Deer  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1 )

Even we had a hard time finding this one again. Things have changed slightly since the last ice storm. We did leave a few new treasures and a new log book; so start filling it! This one is a real "Huckle Buckle Beanstalk" hide! See Ya! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

Note 05 May 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Gamma Kitt & Coyote will be there. We'll bring a Potato Salad. This was great last year! We wouldn't miss it! See Ya!

Note 13 Oct 2002    1779 Memorial Tree  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

I had a few complaints about a messy cache box. I replaced the whole cache box and put the Log Book into a fresh clean plastic bag. I removed the camera. So now we have a full clean box again ready to find. Thanks to all that tipped me off about the mess, it was my fault; don't put a can of oil in a cache box, it will leak! Happy hunting, Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 06 Oct 2002    What's the Point  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

Coyote couldn't make the trek but Hero is a good partner. It was a great Road Kill hide. Took yellow batman(?) left a dollar. We forgot to take tradeouts with us so the dollar is nothing special. Thanks for the fun. Gamma Kitt & Hero

Note 06 Oct 2002    Letchworth Fall Cachers' Gathering  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Thanks to so many for making the picnic so much fun and a great success. Coyote was worried in late July that there might be only a few present in such a large pavilion. Then about 10:00 AM Oct. 5 he worried we might not have enough room for all the wonderful cachers that began arriving. Even he is saying we have to do it again next year. The food was abundant and delicious. Every one pitched in to set up, cook, and clean up! Games were great fun; the prizes exceptional. Conversations were tops, especially getting aquainted with so many new faces but familiar names. We still marvel at the number of Travel Bugs and Hitch Hikers assembled in one spot. We hope some one has a record of which and how many were there. We can't wait to see pictures. I do agree with Team Smoke, one great memory will be their son saying, "No"! at the right time; it was funny. Geocachers are the nicest people!!!!! THANK YOU ALL!!! Gamma Kitt, Coyote & Hero

I have found a 100 cup coffee pot. We will use the 45 cup coffee maker for Decaf and the 100 cup coffee maker for regular coffee. If is cool we are ready! Gamma Kitt

Note 25 Sept 2002    Letchworth Fall Cachers' Gathering  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

We have gladly accepted the offer of a 45 cup coffee maker. I have been advised that for 100 people an additional coffee maker will be needed, especially if the weather is cool. If anyone has a 40-60 cup coffee maker we can use please let me know. I have a lot of Decaf coffee to donate too. Thanks, Gamma Kitt fschutte@rochester.rr.com

Note 17 Jul 2002    Issaquah In Perinton  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Veni Vedi Vici! The second time was the charm. The sun wasn't quite as bright and the dark was not as dark. The water is pretty much gone. Found it quickly, without too much trouble this time. Took nothing, left shoe laces and a few butterscoth candies. I didn't bring small enough trinkets with me. Oh, well it was a great hide and I enjoyed finding it. Thanks! Gamma Kitt & Coyote.

Note 11 Jul 2002    Syracuse Geocachers Picnic  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Note 07 Jul 2002    THe Bluebird Angel  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What a nice location! You beat Coyote to placing a cache in that area. A nice walk and as promised; birds, butterflies and even an Angel. I took the Happy Face Key chain and left an inflatable round raft and 3 pair of shoe laces. Thanks for the great hike. Gamma Kitt and Coyote

Note 07 Jul 2002    Issaquah In Perinton  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Hinge Thunder you did it again! I was careful not to get my feet wet at first; but I slipped. I was still careful for the first half hour; then, after that it was all out looking, not on all fours but close. My unit kept pointing to one bush, knowing you I should have taken a shovel and looked under the bush root. Reluctantly I stopped from exhaustion after a couple of hours. We are skunked for now... I put in a new camera. I also filled the cache box. The trinkets had dwindled to a few items worth less than a dollar each. Please think of the next cacher and trade fair. Thanks, Gamma Kitt, Coyote, & Hero

I found it! 01 Jun 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This was a GREAT GET TOGETHER! Coyote especially loved meeting all the people he had only met through the Caching Web Sites. Hero thought the Atomic Chili and Venison sausage added a big bang to the picnic feast. Gamma Kitt especially enjoyed finding the Leprechaun's Treasure; of course with the help of Hinged Thunder, and others. We couldn't ask for a better day, better food, or better friends. Thanks to Quinn and all who had a part in making it so much fun. Gamma Kitt, Coyote & Hero

Note 29 May 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Gamma Kitt and Coyote will be there along with Angel and Hero of the clan hopefully. We are planning on fruit salad
and baked beans w/ham. Hope someone brings potato salad
or cheese and crackers.

Note 27 May 2002    Crescent Hill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

I replaced the camera today. I also took the Travel Bug, "Kachin'Keychain Katcher" to place somewhere else soon. Gamma Kitt

I found it! 26 Apr 2002    The Troll's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 4.5 )

VENI, VIDI, VICI !!! Hinge Thunder, there's one thing Coyote can tell you,"Don't ever tell Gamma Kitt that she can't do something!" We found the Troll's treasure today at Noon! Coyote got the Leatherman Tool Kit; we left a compass. Angel guided Gamma Kitt as Coyote watched. We were all scared but we did it. Persistence pays off. Thanks for the hide. The Blackwatch Clan

I couldn 15 Apr 2002    The Troll's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 4.5 )

We came, we saw, it conquered us! The GPS said one thing and we couldn't believe it, so, I scoured every nook and cranny with no luck. We know for sure every place it is not! We did not see the treasure, but we met the troll; does that count? Toughest hide we've seen. Thanks for the fun anyway! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    The rainy day cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

We enjoyed the walk along the canal even though it was not raining. The find was right on target. Took a small spotlight, left a fishing lure & a FROG strap key chain type thing. Thanks for the great hide. Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 12 Apr 2002    Issaquah In Egypt/Mayonnaise Jar 2  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

We found it at 2:45 today! Coyote says #*?+#@! We had forgotten how high this hill is. Plus, I think the paths are longer and steeper than they used to be; or are we just older. Kids were running around us on the path having fun. The cache was in fine shape, a real nice hide. We took the Million dollar bill and gold beads. Now if the bank won't cash it, I'll cache it. I left a glue stick and nose tissue; for people who stick to it and need to wipe the sweat away. Thanks for the fun! Gamma Kitt and Coyote

I found it! 09 Apr 2002    Issaquah's Pebble In A Gravel Pit  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 1.5 )

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk! We were #1!!!! This was a tough one! I think we looked for at least half an hour. The walking was the easy part; great for Coyote! Scenery was great, I even saw a big fish jump from the water. Took the Flippy Flyer left a "Where's George, Sacquegua, and a tiny lock with key. Thanks for a super cache hunt! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 10 Mar 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Roadkill informed this am of the upcoming cachers meeting
on 6/1/02 at Seneca Park. You can count us in with our
trusty GPS, compass, experience and knowledge and hope this
has a huge turnout so we can meet the people who's names
we only see entered on the finds. See ya Gamma/Coyote

I found it! 22 Aug 2001    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

At precisely 4:00 PM I logged our visit to Egypt. It was good to find such a nice hiking trail so near our home, especially one I didn't know existed. The final few feet were a little tough for an old gal and of course, as usual, Coyote had to call to me to help me find my way back to the nice path again after the find. Some day I will learn to use a compass. Took two "where's Georges" and left a ladies travel kit. Thanks for a great find. Gamma Kitt & Coyote Awhooooo!

I found it! 07 Jul 2001    1K Sanctuary  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I taught school for years and many classes went to this Sanctuary but never my class. Some adult groups I belonged to toured this area but I was never able to go. Now I see why it was so attractive to groups. It must be wonderful in the spring especially. Coyote and I did not see any animals but lots of birds some of which I think were really mosquitos. We used spray before we entered and I used more that was in the cache, thanks! It was not an easy find but Coyote was able to go almost to the cache with me. I did not get lost!! Took a mini puzzle left a lunch box M&M shaped freezer cube. Great cache Delta Team! Gamma Kitt & Coyote

I found it! 06 Jul 2001    Jennings Journey  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )
