I found it! 13 Mar 2008    'tween twails  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Well, well, well, looks who's back in action. Nice to see you active again Ready Set! This was a great day for a lunchtime cache run, and this was within my distance restrictions. Still wish the snow would go away for good, but it was a pleasant walk anyways. I had walked this area before way back when after finding Run, Rabbit, Run, just to see where it went. Glad to finally see a cache back here. Thanks for the outting!

Yup, figured you be getting the Navicache itch again Chile.

Wandering Buck gave me a call tonight asking if I wanted to join him for a cache along the canal off of Jefferson Ave. I turned him down cuz I had just showered, my hair was wet, it was too cold out, and I was ready to relax. So, while relaxing about 20 minutes later, I checked Navicache for fun. Oh man! So I called Buck and Lily to see if they were still out and about, and they were. So, I dried my hair, got back into street clothes, bundled up with my winter garb, and waited for my caching taxi to arrive.

We found a place to park and walked along to the cache. Or it was more like slid along. Level ground was fine (sorta). Just glad I didn't have an excited puppy "helping" me along on the hills. We got to GZ, and Lily did her part, chewing on every tree and stick looking for the cache. We came up with the hide at 10:01PM. Signed in and moved on back to the truck. Nice night actually for being 24 degrees, I think it actually felt colder out during the afternoon today. Moon still almost full making it light enough to walk w/o flashlights.

Thanks for the hide Chile! Now its back into my jammies!

I found it! 10 Nov 2007    oooh-ooh that smell  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Caught a sniff the week before that Chile might hide a new cache to replace his Choices. Didn't worry about it too much tho. Was at a movie with my sister when my phone rang. Had to wait til after the movie to get my voicemail from Littlemy that this cache came out on Navicache. Now a decision had to be made. Cheesecake Factory or caching on a colder day? Well, I did pick the cheesecake, but they had such a long wait, I didn't think I had time to get some and be home in time to go out to dinner. So, caching was my 2nd choice. Love Whitebrook Park, its so nice anytime of the year. Grabbed my flashlight as I knew the daytime light was fading and off I went. Walked along the boardwalk and trails, didn't see any wildlife tho beside lots of geese honking overhead. Got to the cache location and found the hide at 5:24PM. VERY surprised to see I was beaten by the reclusive CNR! Wasn't he retired? Put cache and as I walked back out in just enough light to not use my flashlight, I called CNR to say congrats and chat. Thanks for another pleasant box in the woods!

I found it! 29 Jul 2007    Geo-What? I Don't Understand  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

I totally agree with the rest of the Breakfast Club, this was a great cache to do after breakfast today with the group. And the fact that Caterpillar and J-Dog were already there made it even better. Kinda weird to me, because the most hidden and smallest of the waypoints ended up being the one we struggled with the least (not saying we didn't struggle there some too!). I am glad I had read the cache description enough times that it actually sunk in and I even did a little homework beforehand. We had alot of fun and got to enjoy alot of conversations because it took us so long. Having Caterpillar along to help us "blind" folks helped alot. Found the final at 11:35AM, took us just a bit under 2 hours. Thanks J-dog!

I found it! 19 Mar 2006    Box in the Woods  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Thought we were done caching for the day after the 2 we did this morning. Sitting in our warm house relaxing when I noticed this new cache listed on Navicache. And its got a gold Chilehead geocoin? Had no choice but to go out in the cold again! Picked where we wanted to park based on hiking these trails over a year ago. Enjoyed this area once again and had a nice hike. Got to the 1st area and started scouting. Another lesson learned, take the time to read the cache page well before taking off in a hurry, as we didn't realize this was a multi and we were looking for a box, til we happened upon the new coords. Oh! Put coords in GPS and off we went again. We too like being able to find a normal size box in the woods once in awhile, and this was perfect. FTF at 4:30PM. YES!!! Got a gold Chilehead coin, bout time you hid a cache with one in it! Now back to warmth and relaxation, our day is complete (or so Bill hopes!).

Note 01 Mar 2006    Letchworth Fall Gathering V  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Count on some of the Peppermill 6-Pack coming.

I found it! 24 Nov 2005    Red Falls View  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

Saw this come up last night but decided to wait til this morning. Nothing like caching on a holiday! Pulled into the lot and noticed fresh car tracks there, but no car. Uh oh, hopefully someone out walking their dog. Walking to the area we didn't see anyone. As we were just about 300 ft away, we could hear something and turned around, it was Chilehead! The race was on, as most know, that Chile guy can move. It was neck and neck the rest of the way. Luckily once again, Chile's magellan was on our side and he overshot the cache and ended up slipping on the snow covered path and went down. Altho it was funny to see, we still had a cache to find. FTF victory was ours! And its always sweeter when a muddy Chile is just a step or two away. Coords right on (if you have a Garmin!). Nice creek and falls nearby. Great cache location for your 1st. Thanks!

I found it! 15 Oct 2005    Letchworth Fall Gathering IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Our 4th Gathering and it just keeps getting better and better every year! Thanks so much to Gamma Kitt and the whole Blackwatch Clan for hosting this! And to Junglehair and NYGO for all the things they did too. We arrived about 11:30AM and left after enjoying Junglehair's bonfire until 9PM. Was great to again see people we haven't seen since the last gathering (this being only our 2nd event this year) and great meeting some new faces too. Oh, and great to see the people we have gotten to see on the trails and elsewhere all year, sometimes too often. :)
We got to see a glimpse of Killer B's mind and it was enlightening. Looking forward to doing some of his caches now. Also as always, Brogans evil mind had obviously been working some OT this past year, glad we got to experience the unfolding of his cache, and didn't spend all day on it (we have learned from past years). We also completed the "Marconi's Revenge" cache put out by MedicDave, it was a fun challenge and the 1st cache we have seen of this kind. Thanks Dave, enjoyed it immensly!
Great people, great location, good Fall weather, great fun, can't ask for more.

Fairport, Ny

Note 09 Oct 2005    Indian Falls  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

In the area today doing Chemist Kahuna's new cache just 160 feet away from this one (on Geocaching.com). Sad that I can't remember what I ate for supper last Friday, but I remembered exactly where this cache was that we found over 2 years ago. And guess what? Its still there! A couple of the items inside are just slightly damp, but other than that, its in fine shape. Couldn't believe that only 1 other cacher has found this besides us in this length of time. The keychain we had left there was still there, haven't seen one like it in the 2 years since, so we just had to grab it, now to keep in my caching items collection. So, cache is here, come and find it people!

I found it! 15 Aug 2005    Corbett's Glen  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Once again, Sue (TLRG) and I had a very nice walk along these trails, taking the longer way in, but this time knowing our way out (last time we circled a couple of times). Nice scenic spot for the hide, finding it at 6:15PM. Thanks!

I found it! 24 Jul 2005    Magellan Adventure 31 ( Be There!)  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

A very enjoyable Magellan adventure trying to figure out where this was pre-coords. Congrats to Tleck and Hisha for being able to do so. Sue (TLRG)and I were 8th and 9th to find in the contest approx 8:55AM, still very satisfying positions to be in. Thanks to the quick call in of the coords from our co-conspirator Chilehead. Thanks Quinn for the great fun!

I found it! 26 Jun 2005    The Woods  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

We all know 3rd is REALLY the best position to find a cache :) Lots of critters lurking in the woods, but I obviously missed seeing 2 of the scariest. Found cache at 9:02AM. Was a great opportunity to check on my nearby hide (which was missing). Thanks!

I found it! 10 Apr 2005    Dads & Lads  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Since we encountered Chilehead on the trail yesterday while hiding our own cache, had a head's up that this cache was coming. Resisted the urge to go snooping around without the coords and patiently waited for this listing. Since today is Bill's birthday, I left him napping and grabbed Ryan to accompany me (I can bake Bill's cake later!). Ryan found WP#1 quite quickly, so off we went to the cache. Nice quiet area of the park. Took a bit for us to find the cache, very well hidden in an area with lots of hiding spots. Of course after, we walked on farther to see the lake, and then Ryan and I just had to go feed the fish to celebrate our FTF. Thanks!

I found it! 13 Feb 2005    Chile's Peppers: Perinton South  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Nice crisp morning for a hike, so off we went. Quite a few cars in Powder Mill this morning, but only 1 car in the parking lot we wanted. Quietly hiked to the area with no other signs of people. Looked in some likely spots and then finally came up with the FTF at 9:02AM. Thanks for another in the Pepper series!

I found it! 01 Dec 2004    Stop 22 on the Wharf  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Saw this listed, put Ryan on quick notice and we left within 15 minutes of it being listed. OK, let me just start with the fact that winter is here. Brrr... cold wind tonight (28 degree wind chill). Maybe that is what scared off some of the other cachers in this area, but we kept looking for the company but no one else came to this Fairport party. May be quicker to find in the daylight, but it took us about an hour to complete tonight using some old flashlights (tried to replace bulb in our good one after work, but store was out). Found final cache at 10:17PM. Enjoyed both locations (this is after the fact of course, won't tell you what we were calling you Chile at WP#1, but I'm sure it was just the cold affecting us). 2nd FTF today, we can sit back again for awhile (springtime maybe?). Thanks for the quality time with my son, didn't even have to pay him for this one (and we each found a part)!

I found it! 28 Oct 2004    Cache Explosion: Feeding my addiction  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Saw this listed on Navicache, made 3 batches of cookies and waited for Bill to get home before going out (patience is a new virtue for me). Ryan decided he would come along too. We took off out of the driveway and headed to the area. Of course, on the way we discovered none of us had grabbed a flashlight, and it was starting to get dusky. Didn't want to turn back, so we headed on. Knew where we could park to hit a trail head, and trekked up the hill. On our way up, we met Big Toad and a little Toadster on the way down. We chatted for a bit (of course all the while its getting darker), and headed onward and upward. Caught the very end of sunset when we reached the top. Found cache (used the flash on my camera to verify its position) at 6:41PM. Took a decon size cache container. Will feed it to the rest of the caching community soon. Thanks Chilehead! We are all too willing to help you with your addiction!

I found it! 16 Oct 2004    Letchworth Fall Gathering III  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Arrived at 11:13 AM and stayed at picnic most of the day, ending it by spending time at Junglehair's bonfire. Our 3rd year here. Enjoyed ourselves very much talking to as many as we could. Cachers are great people!
Completed Event#2 cache. We have learned from this that KillerB hangs with people like Brogan too much. What a great hide, very clever waypoints (and devious WP#2). Did this cache in 2 parts, finally finishing up at 6:42PM. It was great meeting you KillerB and talking with you about your hides, thanks for your efforts!
Good food, good time. Thanks so much to Blackwatch Clan for once again giving us the another great picnic!

I found it! 26 Sept 2004    Critter Kennel  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Saw this posted here this morning as I was getting ready to head to Darien Lake State Park for a geocaching newbie event, figured we would try it on our way there. Nice area, surprised to see a playground and tennis courts there. Nice walk, and wasn't too bad even off the path. FTF at 9:24AM with Sue from Lyndon Rd Gang. Thanks for a nice hide.

I found it! 18 Sept 2004    A Hawks View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Was in the area, so decided to look for this cache today. Nice walk back to the hiding area, no one around but us. Found cache at 2:48PM, was surprised to see that someone had found it in June too, but never logged it online. Still in great shape! Thanks!

I found it! 04 Sept 2004    Masseth's journey  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Spooky cache to do when dark and a bit of fog settling in. Met Beaverbunch at the site, the 3 of us hiked toward cache area. Found Masseth but he wouldn't help us at all. Sats were amazingly strong tonight, surpised in this area of cover. Proceeded to cache area, and found the box at 11:34PM, sharing the FTF honors. But beware, on the way out, I swear we saw 4 looming characters in dark attire, just watching us, just waiting to jump out at us.

I found it! 12 Jun 2004    2004 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Great time today seeing everyone and sharing stories. Just love these gatherings, geocacher's are great people! Thanks to those that helped to make this happen.

We have a purple w/ orange handled little cooler that was full of hotdogs that we brought home from picnic. If its yours, please email us and we will arrange a drop off place and time to get it back to you (not sure if the hotdogs survived tho, didn't get home til 1:30AM).

I found it! 30 May 2004    Blind Man's Bluff  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Wow, been exactly 1 year since this one was found (someone was in log book for May 31,2003 but didn't post online). Covered in dirt and worms, good camo :) But, Sue (Lyndon Rd Gang) and I did find it at 2:25PM among alot of vegetation to walk thru (area looks completely different than pic posted on site obviously from Fall season). Box is still dry and in great shape. Thanks for another great Bluff find!

Note 24 Jan 2004    Letchworth Fall Gathering III  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Our calendar is marked! Already looking forward to your Fall gathering, have had a great time at the others.

Note 28 Dec 2003    Monkey See  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Mother Nature decided to change the elevation on this cache, so we removed it since it no longer possible to have its difficulty rating anymore. (The tree it was in has fallen to the ground.) We will hopefully hide it elsewhere at a future time with the contents inside. Thanks to all who came and found it!

I found it! 18 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Thanks to everyone who helped put this picnic together. We had a great time the night before hanging out with Brogan and the others at his bonfire, and doing the special night cache (without GPS!). Thanks also to Junglehair for letting us crash on her site to sleep in our van. Grabbed a nice cache find along with SueShe, BarbershopDru,and QuilterCC mid-morning. We also ended up spending most of the picnic day working on the truly EVIL man's cache, enjoyed it alot tho, very mind-boggling. Was great searching with Harv on 1st part, and continued searching along with Gandolf, Rusty-o-Junk and Swamprats on the other parts, great group cache efforts and teamwork. After getting back to pavilion, had great conversations with those that were left there, both old and new friends. Thanks again for another great year at Letchworth.

I found it! 24 Sept 2003    Kitty Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Saw this listed last night, and since we were already planning on being 'sick' today from work anyways for a caching day in Auburn, we started with a first to find near our home. Found it at 7:59AM, first time on these trails, very nice location, enjoyed walking by the farm animals to get to trail. Thanks for another great hide!

Our 2nd attempt at this cache, only had to find the last location this time. Found at 4:13PM, were looking there last time, but this time the new pic helped alot. Left Jeter TB. Took a couple of broken items that were in cache. Thanks for the great location.

I found it! 04 Aug 2003    Duck Duck Goose  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Couldn't get to this cache during daylight hours after we saw it posted, but why let darkness and lightning (no rain yet) scare us off? Grabbed our flashlights and off we went. Parked near 1st set of coords, found 1st duck at 9:03PM. Gates were closed so we hiked it to next duck and found it at 9:25PM. Still wasn't raining, just more lightning. Walked to next set of coords and after a bit of a search (sats jumping), Bill found cache at 9:46PM. Signed log book (1st to find), left a Mother Goose Clock book, took a fridge magnet. Then as we were putting lid back on, the sky let loose with a vengance. Great weather, if your a duck! Got soaked going back to car, but had a great time anyways. This is what caching is all about! Thanks for a great 1st hide.

Once again --- Love the property!!
Went out today with our friend Gene (Porchdragon) and this was the 1st of 10 for us today. Great view, in fact we were sitting around talking and enjoying the view as we logged in and Bill just put the cache back together, stuck it under his arm and started walking back to the car. Got about 10 steps before Ruth noticed and suggested that I leave it behind. LOL

Dropped off Shark travel bug which Gene will be taking west with him.

I found it! 24 Jul 2003    An 'Erie' Place  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

2nd cache of the afternoon with my mom(KenElKlub) and sister(Garford Gang). As we got to area, the same boat we saw at 7-Up Centennial cache was just going into the lock so of course we had to watch that first, very cool to see. Nice hike to the cache itself, found at 1:36PM. Took the TB Skunk to take him with us on trip this weekend. Thanks for the enjoyable hide.

I found it! 24 Jul 2003    Ducks Everlanding  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Another enjoyable cache hunt done with my mom(KenElKlub) and sister(Garford Gang). My sister couldn't believe that my mom (in her 70's)actually wanted to go caching with us today (she was begging to get out of the house!) in the wet weather and with all the hiking involved, but this cache proved that mom is a real cacher! She did all but the last 100ft(quite slippery since it had rained earlier). When we found the cache at 3PM, I took it to her to do our logging and then returned it to its proper hiding place. Thanks for the challenging hide.

I found it! 20 Jul 2003    The Orc's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

We were right in the area a few weeks back doing some other caches but for some reason (like Bill is an idiot) we did not think to bring cords for this one.

This one was great!!

I just hope I find a suitable place to do something similar (imitation is the highest form of flattery).
When we got out of the 'Orc's Lair' with our skins bearly intact and turned the GPS back on, sats were terrible, we did manage a brief lock for bearing and distance but we didn't trust our instincts and went back to the surface of the human world for a good reading. After a round about hike and climb with sats fading in and out we ended up right where we first thought we were going!

Took flashy lights, left Lord of the Rings bookmark. Thanks for the great hide and all the work.

Went to this cache tonight w/ my sister and nephew from Garford Gang. They had done this one earlier in the day, but noticed after doing 5 caches, that they lost a cel phone. We went back tonight w/ my cel phone to hopefully locate it and as a bonus, while they looked for the phone (hopefully it was turned on to ring when I called it), I got to find this cache at 7:25PM. Thanks for the nice hide. (We did find the phone at the last cache they did today, of course it being the 5th cache we retraced their steps at too!)

I found it! 19 Jul 2003    Lost Treasure  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

Tried to find this cache late last night when we saw it listed, but no map was showing yet on the site, so wasn't sure where we were headed, just knew it wasn't too far from home. Found a great trail, walked it only to find we were on wrong side of the water with only 500ft to go. :( Gave up (it was almost midnight at this point) and decided to try again this morning (only to find out that we would end up on same trial again to do another cache I knew was in area, but we hadn't taken the coords w/ us last night). Now this morning w/ knowing where to go, it was a nice easy walk to cache. 1st to find at 7:43AM. Left a keychain, took nothing. Thanks for the relaxing morning hike.

Nice long hike along stretch of canal we hadn't been to before. Got to use Bill's new toy, a Palm Pilot with wireless internet access at the 1st stop to take a look at the pic for help. Love technology! Found next clue easily. Cache was found at 4:25PM, very well hidden! Thanks for the hide!

I found it! 28 Jun 2003    Badge Adventure cache!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Had us a bit confused at 1st, but then we figured out what we were looking for and found it. We were at this park last week doing another cache, but didn't notice it (cuz we weren't looking for it?). Nice walk back to cache, although I have a feeling paths are much more blocked by the ice storm than when originally hid from looking at the pic now. Found it at 8:30PM. Thanks for the hide.

I found it! 27 Jun 2003    ISLAND OASIS TOUR  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

Woke up early once again on the last day of my vacation week, checked for new caches, and here was this one was daring me to come. (Was hoping for no new ones so I could go back to bed!) So of course, I had to go for it. Beautiful morning for an 'Island' tour, lots of hustle and bustle going on in the circle around me, but no one else on the island. Found the cache at 9AM as the church bells were going off. Another 1st to find, not bad for a 'newbie' w/ over 150 finds and over 1yr of caching, huh 7M? LOL Thanks Rocky for another great cache hunt.

I found it! 13 Jun 2003    GPS-O (Durand Eastman Park)  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Great day to have 1/2 day off of work. Gotta cache rain or shine, and it did both. Went w/ my sister from Garford Gang, 1st 6 markers were done in the rain, 2nd 6 markers after it stopped (total time spent approx 2.5 hours). Did markers 13-24, had alot of fun, specially the part watching my sister slide down the hill Will definately be back to finish up soon. Thanks for excuse to get us out caching today.

I found it! 09 Jun 2003    Logos on Logs  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found at 8:05pm

We had been out for the caching triathelon today -- paddled 4 miles for 'If the cap fits' splashed through water and mud and swampiness and climbed up and slipped down the river gorge. I had just finished a hot and much needed shower when Ruth holds a new - just posted - cache in my face and points out that iit is only a mile (or so) from our front door. Needless to say - Off we went!!

Ruthie really wanted the geocache window sticker for her new van and the compass/keychain so we signed the log book (double meaning on this cache) traded a keychain, WG$ and some jumbo dice.

I found it! 08 Jun 2003    If the Cap Fits  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Found 2:45pm

Thought it was going to be a nice day so a first find is always a nice way to start out. Stopped at the canoe rental place and started paddleing at 1:30 (2.14 miles from the cache). Fought the wind and waves the entire trip north and thought how nice it will be on the way back. As we got closer we turned on the GPS again and followed the arrow directly to a likely spot, cords were right on, we tied the boat off and the GPS said 10 feet in front of us was the spot, and it was right there. Logged our find and left one of our key chains, (no laminant card again)!! Didn't trade any hats -- We arent big NASCAR fans, but I did like the Jeff Gordon with the Superman logo. Time to get back in the boat for the 2+ mile ride back. The wind and waves had died down so we really didnt get the help we were hoping for but the return trip (on VERY tired arms) only took 40 minutes, Now on to more caches!!

Found at 4:45pm

Parked about 200 feet from the cache and did the slip slide mountain goat thing pretty much right to it (good guess on our part). In fact we were looking at the clues and Ruth was sitting right on the hiding spot (will add picture later). Dont look if you dont want the hunt spoiled.
Box is in bad shape - cracked with critters making a new home. Log book was dry so we signed it and moved on to Seth Green!

Just love the urban caches -- nothing like sliding down a muddy gorge covered with broken glass to make your day complete. Sats were all over but we were not about to give up. I think I read too much in to the cache name. Ruthie spotted the actual box which is in great shape.

We decided to do 3 other caches in this area first, then this one last so we wouldn't conflict w/ their hunt. All was clear when we found this one at 3:10PM. Great spot to hide a cache! Had today off to take my son to his road test this afternoon, and what better way to spend the morning than finding a cache first! Woo Hoo! Nice quiet park, not too many around when I arrived but some more coming in as I was leaving. Found cache at 10AM, hung out in area checking out the views for awhile. Note: Be careful when locating cache itself, there is a nesting duck very very nearby, didn't move while I was there so not harmful, just be careful not to disturb please. Just hid the cache... if you would like to see one of my favorite christmas light displays on a house in this area, then this place is for you. Obviously, this cache is best retrieved after dark (not sure when lights are turned on or off, we were there at 10:30PM, they were still on)and probably within next 2 weeks before lights are gone (after that it can be retrieved, just no sight to see). Cache is within 20ft of the coords 43.03.667 77.26.326. Once you get there, it will be pretty obvious where this magnetic key case must be hidden, you do not have to trespass on anyone's property. May be a bit of a stretch to get it tho. Difficulty 1, Terrain 1.5
If you enjoyed this house, another one within 1/2 mile at 43.03.232 77.26.226 has a great display too (no cache there tho, just good looking).

Path was nice but a bit hard to follow in the dark because of all the leaves but we found the cache at 7:05PM. While logging we did see a couple of hikers coming from opposite direction, turned off our flashlights and they passed by w/o seeing us. Left lei.
Did try to go farther down path to get to Chestnut Ridge cache, but turned back when we kept losing the GPS signals and came to a creek where we couldn't make out where the path was on other side. Found this cache w/ Sue (Lyndon Rd gang) at 10:57PM. When we decided to take this overnight trip to Buffalo/Ontario, Canada on a spur of the moment due to the great warm November weather, we just printed out nearby caches w/o reading them, thus we had no stickers to trade (happens when the decision is made to go and you leave your house within 1 hour). I did take one ladybug sticker for my logbook, picked it because before leaving home at 12:30, I had seen 2 ladybugs while out caching in Fairport and 1 was even in my house! Found this at 7:10 am. No people nearby at the time but we could see how we could be watched. Running out of ways to use these little laminated cards.

Lots of fun ... good hide as always.

I found it! 20 Oct 2002    Your boots were made for cachin'  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Couldn't use my boots, they are still muddy from the swamp yesterday. Nice early morning walk for us, did I mention we were first. Wheely was wondering what time we were planning on heading out. Lets just say we crossed the canal near our home in Fairport at 5am. Found the cache at 5:38 and waited around for Wheely and our donuts, alas he didnt show and there were 2 other new caches waiting to be found.

I found it! 20 Oct 2002    Got Milk??  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this at 8:34 am. I went right to it while Ruth was wandering around trying to get a lock, or maybe she was a little dazed (she did just fall down). Seemed like she was OK, but I had a cache to find, I can check on her later. Nice job from the Wee Wheelygood Women. Madi from the 6-pack will be our cookie connection but it is always good to have a backup.

Took window thermometer, left squishy lizard and a lei (pink for the girls).

I found it! 19 Oct 2002    Tree with a View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

2nd cache of the day, 2nd to find it (are we getting rusty?). Found by Bill at 3:30PM.

Nice easy hike, knew exactly when we found the tree w/ a view! Great view! Monkey Bill climbed the tree, not that you have to, but he wanted to.

Thanks for the view on a pretty Fall day (stopped raining long enough).

I found it! 19 Oct 2002    Birds n Worms  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Pouring rain today, but when you got the urge to cache, ya gotta cache!
Nice walk thru swamp, Bill loved the knee-deep mud hole he stepped in. We looked a mess, but we made it. Bill was 1st to find this cache at 2:10PM. Left our stamp in logbook.

Started taking the direct route to the nearby caches across bay, but decided that maybe hiking back car and driving OVER the bridge was much less dangerous (but not as exciting!)

Thanks for the hike!

I found it! 14 Oct 2002    No Compromise No. 1  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

1st to find this one. Had to wait around a bit til coast was clear and some people cleared out - looked like one guy was there to stay for the night but he finally left, I think he got tired of us circling and staring at him, then went in for the find. Found at 7:10PM. Great hide, left our stamp.

I found it! 12 Oct 2002    Frolic in Fairport  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Went for the Fairport tour this AM. Town very busy today w/ the Farmers Market and Scarecrowfest both going on. Even got to see the lift bridge going up (doesn't matter how many times you see it, its still cool)! Enjoyed the stopping points, was right on 4 of them in advance since I grew up here. Surprised on 1 of them, didn't know it existed there. Found cache at 9:10AM.
Took whistle and Lobster TB, left travel sewing kit and Anakin Skywalker TB. Took a pic on camera.
Thanks for the history tour of my hometown!

I found it! 05 Oct 2002    Brogan's Topo Lesson  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Part of the 2nd round of boatload of people, found the cache late afternoon. Had alot of fun laughing at the people moaning on the other side of the ravine who decided not to follow our path down the hill (ours ended up being correct side) and arrived on scene w/ several people already there. Found cache 1st of our group, joined the group already on "HuckleBerry Hill", and waited for the rest of our group to go around (or cross) the ravine and locate the cache for themselves. Was very cool watching people find cache only a few at a time, and yet not give it away to all the others right there looking.

Part of the mass logging of the book. Took nothing, left nothing.

Thanks for the hide Brogan, job well done!

Thank you so much to all who made this a great cacher's day picnic for us. 1st time to a picnic like this for us, hopefully not the last. Was so wonderful to meet the people whose names we have been seeing the past 5 months on the logs, and those who have hidden the caches we have been enjoying so much. Even my 16 yr old twins had a blast! Hope to see you all again soon on the trails!

3rd find in the park today. Found at 3PM. Almost gave up on this one, didn't have the write up on it w/ us (left it in car, didn't realize 3 caches were all in same park) and never saw pic. Just as I wanted to walk away, spotted it while I was sitting on trail. Woo Hoo! Got to cache, rescued Floppy the hitchhiker from a possible long winter being trapped there (wants to get to Arizona).

Of course, he didn't find it. Searched around a while more, GPS kept pointing back to original spot. I finally looked myself this time, spotted cache. Another 1st find! Found at 8:55PM.

Walk was longer than we had anticipated and we were under a time constraint, but we did it anyways and luckily didn't take long to discover the cache's hiding spot (good observations on Bill's part). Got back home to Fairport just in time.

Aaargh! Women rule mateys!

SueShe and I (3 of us) started this one yesterday afternoon. Found 1st bottle at 2:15PM. Made the other required stops yesterday, but had to quit last night due to darkness. Started today out looking for the cache in alot of wrong places (close, but still wrong). We now know alot of good hiding spots where the treasure wasn't. If it is the wrong way to get to the cache, we tried it today. I figure we spent a total of over nine hours on this cache over the past 2 days. But at 3:00PM, we finally suceeded! It was all worth it just to be able to say we finished this one!

I took the pocket knife, left ShipWrecked game.

I found it! 11 Aug 2002    Mendon Ponds Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Had a good walk for this one, decided to take the easier path (right) longer walk all the way around and must have taken a wrong turn at one point we were .05 miles away (perpendicular to the path) so we went bushwacking straigt up the hill, not too bushy but steep. Wouldnt you know it there was a path at the top of that hill and we were now .02 away and of course perpendicular to the path again. From where I was I could see a good spot for a cache and thinking "Why go around now" marked my starting point with one of our orange leis (clue!) and down we went right to the cache. You cant see it from the path but from where I was it was plain as day.

Took nothing but a fun hike and a pic (on ours and cache cam)

Left Lei and hid box a little more than last cacher.

Our 1st of 3 today spent at cottage on Silver Lake. Found at 11:10AM. Easy walk from cottage for 5 out of the 6-pack. Also took along Grandma for her first cache hike.

Nice easy walk along rail road bed. Talked to a couple of passerbys who were wondering what we were doing (looking lost?) and explained caching to them (new members?). Took a bit to find, lost satillite reading couple of times. Finally found it after a few of us had stepped over it w/o even seeing it.

I found it! 02 Jun 2002    Wadham's Walk  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Had an hour to kill so we went for a walk. 2/3 of the 6 pack and 2 friends - never knew teenaged boys could be such whiners. Followed the path right to the spot, sent the boys right where it should have been in the woods and they didnt find it. We thought the GPS was a little off so up the hill we went, after aimless wandering and endless whining the boys went back to the car and Rlind and I went back up the path. Lo and behold right where I told the boys to look (I think one of them was actually on the fallen tree) I found it in about 2 minutes.

We took the scented candle (for us) and the bug and finger monster (to drop off later), and left a lei and glow stick.
Put the box back and placed more dead wood in front of the box.

The cache camera is empty.
