I found it! 21 Apr 2007    Hale's Comet  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Great day in the park. Found with the grandkids, Sean and Shamus. Cache is in good shape and coords seem to be close.

I found it! 18 Apr 2005    George's Triangle  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice little twist, and a good evening out. Tnx

I found it! 28 Jul 2004    Cranberry Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We finally made it back to this cache after turning back last time. There were hunters in the area, and we didn't feature getting shot. The only elements to contend with this time were mud and skeeters, but we didn't let them get the best of us. My 4 year old grandson found the cache, so he was delighted. Swapped items and got out of there before the bugs carried us off. Thanks for the fun.

I found it! 28 Jul 2004    Dad's Old Schoolhouse  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

My grandsons Sean and Shamus wanted to do this one since they could relate to school activities. They found it fairly quickly and traded a pencil sharpener and notebook for a couple of other school items. Thanks. We took pic #4.. that's Sean and Shamus with Dad, Matt.

I found it! 24 Jul 2004    PollyWogg Holler  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

This is certainly a unique area. We found the cache almost right away, traded a couple of items, then spent a while walking the trails. The artwork is amazing, and this gives it a new lease on life. We enjoyed a perfect day, and left there with some new experiences to remember. Thanks for bringing us to this area through geocaching.

I found it! 17 Apr 2004    Noah's Ark  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Went out looking for this one with grandson Sean (6). He had a ball with the animal theme. This one was especially fun since we hooked up with Team Durant as we both started out on the hunt. We had a nice chat as we made our way from clue to clue. Found the cache just before it started to rain. Swapped a moose for a camel. Great fun, thanks,
Geo G and Sean

I found it! 14 Sept 2003    SONYEA STATE FOREST GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3.5 )

OK Rocky, you really outdid yourself this time. My son-in-law said he wanted a real challenge, and I think he got more than he bargained for. Of course, not knowing the area real well, we got as close as we could and then hiked cross country. Not too bad until we got to the creek, That was a real treat getting down - and up - and down etc. etc. Well persistence paid off. We found the cache as promised, in a relatively flat area. We even figyured a much better way to get out of there once we knew where the starting point was. Well, Sean (6) made it and I think he deserves a gold star. Course we had to rope him up and down a few of the steeper hills. All in all you get an A+ for this one. We traded items, donated a pint or two to the West Nile Blood Bank, and then headed down to the Ice Cream Island to cool off. Great fun.. thanks.

I found it! 13 Aug 2003    Night Stalker Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

I've been wanting to do this one for a while. The research for Part 1 was pretty interesting. I didn't know all about that part of Rochester history. On to Part 2 with RobNHood.

I found it! 13 Aug 2003    Night Stalker Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Wow... great cache. We enjoyed the hike in, saw lots of deer including a buck with several does, and a doe with her fawn. This was well laid out, and the clues on Part 1 were fun to match up with the history. Everything is in good shape. TNLN. Took picture #3. Thanks for a fun hide..

I found it! 07 Aug 2003    Water for your soul  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1 )

Came back with RobNHood and together we found the final cache. Had a very nice visit on a humid day. The fountains make it seem much cooler. There's also a flock of ducks near the cache that are very persistent. I had to convince them that I wasn't going to feed them. Great outing. Thanks. TNLN.

I couldn 03 Aug 2003    Water for your soul  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1 )

I looked and I looked, but my goose was cooked. In the end I don't intend to lose. I'll be back after I peek at the clues... :)

I found it! 01 Aug 2003    Country Wheels  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3 )

This was an interesting walk back through time. With a little imagination, you can envision working farms in the area a hundred years ago. I thought I was doing pretty well finding the clues but when I started wandering in circles looking for the final cache, I began to doubt whether I had subtracted or added. Went back to the second clue and double checked. As it turned out, I was right on top of the cache all the time. That'll teach me to go solo. If I had the kids with me, they would've found it with no trouble. Nice job on setting up the clues, and making it a bit interesting for everyone. TNLN.. Thanks for the hide..

I found it! 01 Aug 2003    Watership Down  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Finally completed this one! I looked for it with three of my grandkids last month, but didn't log it as a "no find". It was more, like "gotta get out of here 'cause they're all over the place". (Ages 7, 5 and 4). Found the first clue pretty quickly, then proceeded to ignore the directions, and did some pretty heavy bushwhacking to get to the next part. All in all it was a good adventure. Enjoyed the hike and the theme. TNLN. Don't forget the Deep Woods Off. :)

I found it! 08 Jun 2003    Jacobs' Jest  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Wow, the Jacobs sure do know how to jest... the cache is aptly named. Had a lot of fun, and a great hike. My granddaughter, "Lima Bean" gets credit for finding the cache, although she let me help with the clues. Swapped items and signed the log book. Thanks for the adventure.
Geo G and Lima Bean.

I found it! 01 Jun 2003    Escape  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

After meeting WMS Fresh we headed out to the cache with our two Westies, Charlie and Angel. They were more interested in the local fauna, and the other dogs being exercised on the trail. Had a good hike to the cache and enjoyed the picturesque setting. Swapped items and a G-bill. Thanks for the adventure. We enjoyed the article on caching.
Geo G, POG, Charlie and Angel.

I found it! 31 May 2003    Henpecked  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

What better way to spend a rainy day. RobNHood and I introduced three new cachers to the fun, and with a bit of old fashioned searching, we found all the clues and the cache. It was a bit easier this time than when I tried back in December under several inches of snow. Saw a couple of neat snakes under a rock (yes we even turned over rocks looking).. left them where they were, since they didn't look too happy. This was a good challenge, and I hope more people are encouraged to try it. Your work in planning and placing the cache is quite evident. Thanks for a fun day in the rain.

I found it! 28 May 2003    Bookcrossing with Basil  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Took the two Westies out to help me hunt, but they were more interested in doing doggie stuff. Found it without too much trouble despite the shenanigans of Charlie and Angel. Traded Southern Cross by Patricia Cornwell for Grisham's The Painted House. Saw it on TV and thought I might like to read it.

I found it! 01 Jan 2003    Lupin's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

This turned out to be extra special since I met "Lupin Jr." out checking on the cache. Turns out we're both ham ops (as is Lupin himself). Found the first clue a bit off my coords, but then, there weren't that many places to look. Nice walk into the woods, and the cache was right on the calculated coords. Took a Japanese hand warmer, and left a skill puzzle. Hope I don't have a probelm operating the warmer, or I'll have to have Lupin translate for me. :) Also snagged the Keychain TB. It's growing by leaps and bounds. I'll add one of my own, and get it on its way. Thanks for the adventure in an out of the way park.

I found it! 01 Jan 2003    Creeks Edge Cache!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

What a difference the season makes. Back in June the foliage was chest high, today, it's all gone. Found the cache with only a few minutes of searching. Course in June, I was using a Magellan Pioneer, and I've since upgraded. It's nice to be closer than "somewhere within 100 feet"! Swapped a keychain flashlight for the Pokemon cards, and also swapped a G bill. Thanks for the hunt. Cache is still in good shape, dry and packed with goodies.

I found it! 29 Dec 2002    Graveyard Grumble Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Finished part 1 easily.. see comments in part 2.

I found it! 29 Dec 2002    Graveyard Grumble Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was one of the best caches we've done. We enjoyed seeing all the Rochester history, and my 5 year old grandson was great at finding the clues. He never complained once about having to wait for the final cache, even though we had to trudge through some pretty deep snow. His dad was the one who found the cache in the end (His first). Great adventure... Thanks.

I found it! 09 Nov 2002    Valley Of The Inukshuk  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 4.5 )

Certainly plenty of hiding places, but the description given was perfect. We did this one after The Glen House cache, so we took the longer but less treacherous route in. Great spot, with a unique character. Took some gum for Lima Bean, and left a keychain flashlight.

I found it! 09 Nov 2002    Lower Falls And The Old Glen House cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I've been in Rochester 37 years, and even worked at Hawk Eye across the river, but this is the first time I've seen the Glen House ruins up close. We followed the GPS down to the site, but I only hold that for show. With my 10 year old granddaughter "Lima Bean", she'll find the cache if you get her anywhere in the general vicnity. What an eagle eye! Took the Miss Piggy Pez (wonder if that came from across the river?). Left a mini sewing kit.

I found it! 09 Nov 2002    Maple Grove Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice easy walk after coming up from the gorge. Once again, Lima Bean found it with those 3 words she loves to yell, "Here it is!" Took one of the Rochester History CD's. I really like to see how things used to look. Will put it back in another cache when I'm done with it so someone else can enjoy it.

I found it! 26 Oct 2002    Rear View Mirror Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4.5 )

What a hike! RobNHood and I found this after it had rained all night. Lots of mud and wet leaves. Glad we got the hard one out of the way first. Left nothing took 3 lbs of mud. :)

I found it! 26 Oct 2002    PEZ Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

Second Rippie cache of the day. After Rear View Mirror, this one was almost a gimme. At least I had already slid most of the way down the hill and collected as much mud on my jeans as they would hold. This was a unique area. Must be a lot of water flowing in the spring to gouge it out that way! Thanks for the adventure..

I found it! 26 Oct 2002    Don Quixote`s Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

We came at this one from the PEZ cache, so we'll have to see the other history when we do the Orc. This was truly the point of no return. Either we had to go all the way back to the Rear View hill, or climb straight up. We opted for the latter, and really got our exercise. Great hide, and yes the roll is something when you gotta have it, you gotta have it. Good thinking. :)

I found it! 26 Oct 2002    Seneca Trails  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Logged this one with RobNHood after we had trekked up and down the steeper parts of the gorge on 3 other caches. This was a nice easy find to cap the day. We took the short route, but maybe someday we'll return and do the hike. Thanks for the fun.

I found it! 05 Oct 2002    HOGS BACK VISTAS  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found it this time. Stopped by with RobN Hood on our way out of the park after a great picnic with the whole group. Lima bean (10) led the way and found it herself. Thanks to the Rocky team.. Great adventure!
Geo G, POG and Lima bean

I found it! 05 Oct 2002    Brogan's Topo Lesson  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Great hide for the Fall gathering. Half the fun was getting there, (but no fun in getting back). Enjoyed the exercise and the unique spot. Thanks

I found it! 30 Sept 2002    Amazing Arboretum II  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Great area for a hike. Found the cache with only a little difficulty from the tree cover. Swapped a George dollar, but nothing else. Everything not in the Zip-loc bag is quite soggy. Thanks for the adventure..
Geo G and POG

I found it! 30 Sept 2002    Redwings Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Visiting from Rochester, NY. Great little park for a hike. Found the cache after about 10 minutes of hunting. Retrieved the Cannonball Run bug and swapped toys. Patrick's first outing (age 5).
Geo G and POG

I found it! 27 Sept 2002    Houdini  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Well, we followed the Mighty Quinn all the way to Virginia Beach, and it was worth it. This park is a real treasure, and some of the areas remind you of the deep south bayou country. We found the first waypoint with no trouble, and even got the math right for the second one. Not too much trouble locating it, but we sure had fun solving the puzzle. Left the Speed Bug travel bug, and swapped an emergency poncho for the Where's George stamp certificate. This should be easy, since we plan on being at the Letchworth Fall Cacher's gathering. You won't even have to mail it! Great hide, and a real terrific hiking area. We didn't even mind too much when it started raining. See you at Letchworth Quinn, thanks for the adventure.
Geo G and POG

I found it! 27 Sept 2002    Crikey's Bait  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found the cache in a real neat hiking area. This is probably the prettiest trail in the park, and is well documented. Stop at the Vistor Center first for a guide pamphlet. Thanks for the adventure.. Cache is in good shape.

I found it! 15 Sept 2002    Earth Day Celebration '02  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Found with Sean (age 6). He's quite the geocacher, and glad to have a chance to look for one without his older cousins. They always seem to get there first. I'd never been to this park in all the years we've been in Rochester. Walked down to the dock afterwards.. it's quite impressive. Took a rubber snake (Sean was duly impressed), and left a "Beast".

I found it! 15 Sept 2002    Genesee River Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

Came here from Earth Day Celebration. Sean (6) is starting to get a little tired, but the promise of a large Slurpee at the end of the caching is keeping him going. We circled around a bit on this one, and boy was it well hidden. the description given was enough though, and we got it in about 15 minutes. Thanks for a fun adventure.

I found it! 15 Sept 2002    Bullock's Woods  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Had to find this one, even though by now Sean (6) is getting very cranky. He's a trooper though, climbing over all the deadfalls. Found it in about 10 minutes of looking. I can see where this one will increase in difficulty in wet weather. As it was, both the bugs and the mud were hiding today, so we had quite a good time. Now Sean has really earned his Slurpee, so we're off to the 7-11. Thanks for the fun.

I couldn 14 Sept 2002    The Pirates Treasure  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4 )

Well, we found the first clue, but didn't have any luck with the second. Guess we don't make very good pirates!

I found it! 02 Sept 2002    West Meets East  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

Ok Road Kill you can really grin over this one. One of the best adventures I've had caching to date. The scenery was superb and if you don't have a heart attack, the exercise was enough to last the week. I'd recommend this one to anyone who wants to find out what caching is really about. (Our third Road Kill of the weekend... this could become a habit). Left crayons, took Extreme Jumper. Thanks RK.

Note 01 Sept 2002    HOGS BACK VISTAS  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We also found trash on the ground, right in the area of the coordinates. Looks like it may have been plundered again. Included packaging from a precision screwdriver set, Fun Dough, a blue and white pen etc. -- stuff that looks like it was from a cache. We packed the trash out, and decided not to look any further for the cache since this seems to be from it. Hope I'm wrong Rocky, I've enjoyed all the Rocky caches, including the beautiful views from this one.

I found it! 31 Aug 2002    Busy as a Beaver  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Well Hikers, you told us not to miss this one when we met you at the 1856 Mule Path. You were right, this was worth the hike in. Luckily there hasn't been too much rain lately, so we parked at the closer spot, and didn't get too wet traversing the creeks. Both of us wondered, "how in the world do they find these spots?" I've enjoyed other Hikers outings such as Orient Express, and I'm going to look for more of yours. What great adventures! Took a dinosaur and left Play-Doh.
Geo G and POG

I found it! 30 Aug 2002    1779 Memorial Tree  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Camping at Letchworth this past weekend. We decided to look for this cache on the way up to Meyers. Nice little spot and some interesting history. Took only a picture. Thanks for the fun.
Geo G and POG

I found it! 30 Aug 2002    End of 18  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

This was a great hike, even though we started at the 200 loop in the camping area. We enjoyed the great views, and went out to the end as you suggested. That was well worth it. Coordinates were right on, and the cache is in good shape. Took the plastic bowls and left a 1st aid kit. Just so you don't think we got off too easy, we hiked from this cache to the Gibsonville Doublet, so we did the whole route anyway. Thanks for a great hide.
Geo G and POG

I found it! 30 Aug 2002    Gibsonville Doublet  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 2.5 )

Hiked here from the End of 18, what a great hike! This is the kind of cache I really like to do. The history was fascinating, even though we didn't find any foundations. We did find the chimney, and what I believe is the well you mentioned. Enjoyed the waterfalls, and found the cache without too much trouble. I'm definitely going to look up more on the Letchworth site about Gibsonville. I'd like to go back and look for those foundations. Swapped a signal whistle for a pair of Minnie-Mouse gloves. Thanks for a really great hide.
Geo G and POG

I found it! 24 Aug 2002    The Treasure Of Blackbeard  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Went looking last night but we ran out of daylight. Came back and found it today without too much trouble. I'd thought of putting one out there, but alwaays wondered where people would park. Good solution though Quinn. Thanks for another adventure.

I found it! 23 Aug 2002    A Hawks View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Great cache spot. Reading through the logs, and looking at the prints on the trails I can tell we waited until a good time of year. All the trails were dry, and it was a nice walk for the kids, 6, 4 and 3. The six year old found the cache and everyone traded some neat items. Also swapped a g-bill. The sign board at the trailhead had no postings on it, and there were no other pix etc. Guess you have to be there earlier in the season to appreciate the birding aspects, but then you get to wade through the mud too.. Good adventure.. thanks Quinn..

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    Grime's Glen  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

What a great day for a hike in the creek. It was in the 90's this weekend, but hiking up the creek was quite pleasant. The waterfalls were spectacular! Got the cache pinpointed, and by the time I was just figuring out how to get up there my 12 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter yelled "found it!" Good thing I had my mountain goats with me. Just to make it official, I made the climb too, but by a little more friendly route. Traded a couple of G bills, and a few toys for the kids. Grandma and Sean (6) stayed down in the creek, but still had a great time of it. Thanks for a super adventure.
Geo G, POG, Jake, Gara and Sean

I found it! 27 Jul 2002    Mendon Ponds Deer  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1 )

Found without too much difficulty. Of course I had my granddaughter along to spot it. Lots of hiding places... I wonder if anyone knows why there are so many deadfalls there? Swapped a G bill and some trinkets.

I found it! 27 Jul 2002    Mendon Ponds Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We parked pretty close and had no difficulty finding this one. Decided that maybe we'll park no closer than 1/2 mile as a rule, so we can get at least a short hike before the next finds. Now on to MP #2..

I found it! 27 Jul 2002    Mendon Ponds #2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I think either Gimpy is very short to get under all those branches, or we didn't find the right path in. It started raining half way here from the Mendon Ponds Cache, but my granddaughter voted to press on (a true cacher). We found it in the pouring rain.. pen gave out, glasses fogged over, and I had to finish the log in pencil. But... did we have a good time? You bet!! Maybe next time I'll even remember to bring the ponchos. :) Traded a G bill and a couple of trinkets. Found an easier way out, but not by much.

I found it! 25 Jul 2002    Winged Things  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Found after a nice walk through the woods. Looks like a great place to bring the kids to play. Went with RobN Hood and Sam I Am..

I found it! 17 Jul 2002    The Leprechaun's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 5    Terrain: 3 )

Alriiiiight... we found it! I can't believe how devious some people can be in hiding caches, but I should have guessed based on some of the comments! Of course now I just blew my reasoning for upgrading the Magellan Pioneer to a Sportrak. Guess I'll just have to use the "need a new toy" line. Thanks for a great time Hinge.. I got a real kick out of this one. Traded a G-dollar, picked up the Travel Bug, and swapped a bunny for one of the Leprechauns.

I found it! 13 Jul 2002    Orient Express  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3 )

Happy to report we found the second Hikers cache of the day. Came from Durand Discovery, but we drove to the closest approach, then bushwhacked. We parked in a wide spot on the road, about .18 mi from the cache, but it seemed like several miles by the time we got there. A neat area, that I'm sure we'd never have seen had it not been for geocaching. Cache is in good shape. Took a bunny and left a couple of toys. That's it for the day!!

I found it! 13 Jul 2002    Ghost's Domain  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

This was a nice break between Durand Discovery and the Leprechaun (still haven't found that one). Took only a FL Trail brochure. Wish I had met everyone at the picnic, but I was just getting started. (Next time!).

I found it! 13 Jul 2002    Durand Discovery 1  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well, we made it back here, and found it. Tried with my 12 year old grandson a couple of weeks ago, but he was hungry and thirsty, so we didn't get past square one. Enjoyed all the trees and shrubs. (Why can't I grow rhodies like that in my yard?) Took the signal whsitle and left a pedometer. Swapped 3 G's. Good concept for a cache, and lots of fun looking. Found with RobN Hood.

I couldn 13 Jul 2002    The Leprechaun's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 5    Terrain: 3 )

Well, I have to admit, the Leprechaun wins for now. Looked until we ran out of patience. Maybe if I can "phone a friend", we might try it again??

I found it! 06 Jul 2002    1856 Mule Path  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This is the first time we've run into other cachers on the hunt, and we had a real nice chat with The Hikers. This trail is a real treasure, and thanks to geocaching we were able to experience it. Enjoyed reading all the historical markers, and we hiked further up the trail after finding the cache. This would be a good one to bring the kids to. Great adventure - thanks! Geo G and POG

I found it! 05 Jul 2002    Klipnocky State Forest Geocache  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 3 )

Undoubtedly one of the tougher and more rewarding hunts. Other than having my wife "stuck" half way up the hill (couldn't go up, couldn't go down), it was a great adventure. By the way, you can always go sideways, until the terrain becomes more favorable. Lost the GPS lock often with the tree canopy, but with patience and a good compass bearing, we found it. Had a nice quiet lunch on an adjacent log, and swapped a few items. Then took an easier route out. Definitely want to mark your parking location AND take a good compass bearing before heading in. Lots of fun on this one! Geo G and POG

I found it! 03 Jul 2002    MOTHER OF ROCKY  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this with two of the grandkids. Undoubtedly one of the more picturesque spots we've been to. I'm amazed at all the state lands around. Geocaching is a great way to see them. Keep it up Rocky. (Not to forget Mother of and Mrs. R.) Liked the artwork. My granddaughter found the cache. Everything's in good shape, and we traded some of the toys.

I found it! 30 Jun 2002    Stony Brook State Park Geocache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

The first "Rocky" find of the camping week. We're camping at Sun Valley with several of the grandkids. This is the first outing for three of them and I think at least my 10 year old granddaughter is now hooked. Snagged the Monster travel bug, and we'll be giving him a ride to Virginia. Good hike up the gorge. The pups enjoyed it but they had more fun greeting the other dogs along the way.

Geo G and Gara, Jake, Sean and Karlie.

I found it! 23 Jun 2002    It's as easy as ABC  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Not too much trouble finding the cache. An enjoyable hike in, and the bugs weren't too bad yet. My wife had never been to this park, so she added another one with a good playground to take the kids to.
Geo G and POG

I couldn 23 Jun 2002    Creeks Edge Cache!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I'm sure I was very close, but the foliage was rampant, the bugs were having a feast, and it was 88 degrees out, so I think I'll give it a try on another day. Had fun though. (If anybody finds a pair of sunglasses, please leave them in the cache, and I'll pick them up next time. Thanks..)

I found it! 22 Jun 2002    Ghost's Revenge!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Took my grandson out on his first hunt, and we found it after a bit of a search. Watched a deer feeding on the other side of the hill for a while, and in addition to his cache prize, Jake got a brand new golf ball that had lost its way. Took foam ball, left green pig and a George.

I found it! 12 Jun 2002    George - George...George of the Jungle!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice area for hiking, and I can't help but thinking, a good cross country spot in the winter. Getting there was pretty easy, the mosquitoes carried us most of the way. Thank goodness for Backwoods Cutters. Swapped a G.

I found it! 11 Jun 2002    Badge Adventure cache!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Took POG with me, since she thought this might be kind of fun. Well, while I had my head down with the GPS and compass, she first proceeded to figure out the "twist" (in about a minute), and then nailed the cache -- this took her about 5 minutes! I think we have a new resident expert geocacher! Nice job on the cache placement, and an A+ for the twist. Cache is in good shape although packed quite full.

I found it! 08 Jun 2002    Message in a Bottle  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Went looking this morning with RobN Hood, and yep it's still there. We had a good hike, and enjoyed a part of Greece I'd not seen before, even though we've been to the park many times. Hard to believe there's so much open space so close by. Nice hide, and a great cache... lots of goodies. Traded a few, and left a George.

This was a great area for a cache. Well hidden, and lots of good stuff. Thanks for the adventure. Swapped a trinket and a George. My wife said I should have brought the dogs... ever see a couple of terriers loose in the field? Nothing out there would be safe!

I found it! 28 May 2002    Keg Creek Georger!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found the cache on Memorial Day... a beautiful sunny day after lots of rain. We drove from Four Mile Creek Campground... found the parking area with no problem. A little tough finding the cache with my old Magellan Pioneer (good to an accuracy of only .01 miles), but persistence pays off. Took a George bill and left one. I plan on camping in Corning at the end of June. Maybe the George bill will do some travelling! Thanks for the fun!! (Note: picnic tables available at the site, or have lunch at the Wilson Boathouse Restaurant in the town of Wilson.) Geo G and POG

My first outing... Went with Hornet and Rob. Good thing we had three heads together. The clues were great, and we enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next outing. Signed the log. The team took nothing except a picture, left a bottle opener.
