I found it! 13 Sept 2003    End of 18  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

This was our second find of the day. We hiked this trail years ago and I forgot about the great view at the "end of 18". Took bear marker and left a glow stick. Thanks Road Kill for a great cache!

I found it! 04 Jul 2003    30 Mile Point Lighthouse  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Visited the lighthouse on the 4th of July with RobN Hood!

For Jerald's question, the cylindrical structures near the lighthouse were used to store fuel for the light.

I found it! 02 Jul 2003    Strange Birds  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

We have driven past these strange birds many times including this trip on our way to camp for the holiday.

Took nothing and I will not tell you what I left. You will have to see for yourself!

I couldn 27 Apr 2003    The Treasure Of Blackbeard  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Arrg! Me thinks the treasure has been plundered! We took a peek at the clues and I am pretty sure we were in the right spot, but no treasure!

I found it! 27 Apr 2003    Lupin's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

First of the season! But then geocaching has no seasons, it's just more fun when you don't have to bring a snow shovel. We introduced my 8 year old nephew and 2 year old niece to geocaching today and after failing to find our first one, this one was perfect for them to get their first "find". I actually had planned to hide a cache nearby, but Lupin beat me to it. Cache survived the winter well,is dry, in good shape and chock full of treasure. Left a light stick and took a keychain. Thanks for a great cache for kids!

I found it! 06 Oct 2002    Billy Bones  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

1300 hrs. This one took two days to find. I got close yesterday but ran out of time when I figured I was on the wrong side. Changed my approach today and had little trouble finding it. Took a pyramid puzzle and left a set of pens.

I couldn 06 Oct 2002    Petey's Plunder  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

I gave it my best and came up empty. I was in areas where I was getting strong signals and tried to triangulate, but still struck out. I'll be back!!!

I found it! 06 Oct 2002    KEUKA PRIVATE BEACH  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

Stopped here on the way home from camping at Sampson State Park. We had to find one more before calling it a weekend. Took a nice walk and found the cache with no problem. We also ran into some fellow geocachers looking for a place to hide an unconventional cache. At first I thought they were "moving" this cache, but they actually stumbled upon this one while looking for a hiding place.

I found it! 05 Oct 2002    Red Dog's Revenge  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

1500 hrs. First find during a camping weekend in one of my favorite state parks. Took nothing, left nothing. On to the next one!

I found it! 05 Oct 2002    Petey's Keep Out Place II  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

1624 hrs. Second find today. The more we hike around here, the more I like this park. I can't wait to do more research on the Navy base and look at the pictures of the base in it's prime. Took nothing, left nothing. On to number three!

I found it! 02 Sept 2002    Sprucewood  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Another gem of a little park that we never would have known about if not for this sport. We could hear the fishermen and the paddlers, but they could not see us. Cache is in great shape. Took a geode and a light stick. Left a rain poncho and a set of multi-color pens. Afterall, this is an outdoor classroom.

I found it! 02 Sept 2002    My Cache Goes Where the Wild Goose Goes  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

2:30 PM. We chose to enter the trail at the given coordinates on Buffalo Road, but I would suggest parking in the park on the loop near the private road. It is a slightly shorter walk and you can park off the road.
I do not think I have ever seen so many frogs in my life! They must be eating well because there were surprisingly few bugs in the area. Took a Buffalo Bills Silly Slammer. Left an American flag decal and a book light.
Thanks for a great cache!

I found it! 02 Sept 2002    Cache Jubilee  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

4:45 PM. Went 3 for 3 so far today! There were a few future BMX stars practicing nearby, so we looped around and came in from the opposite direction. That was a mistake - too many brambles and thorny bushes. Opened the cache and started checking out the contents when I heard some hikers coming so I made a quick log entry and hit the trail to protect it's location. Took nothing and left nothing.

I found it! 31 Aug 2002    Highpoint  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

My better half found this one at 6:45 PM. We had a bit of trouble getting a good signal but we searched a 25ft circle and found it without too much trouble. The one thing that I really like about this sport is that it introduces you the great areas like this one that you might even have seen before, but never took the time to really explore.
Swapped george dollars and took a $1,000,000 bill. Left dice and a Cracker Jack prize.

I found it! 31 Aug 2002    INSPIRATION POINT GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I was hoping to be the first since there were no other log entries, but we were beat by others! What a beautiful spot! You can almost hear the trees grow it was so quiet! A place like this is so much more enjoyable when there is no odor of gasoline and oil and no jet skis.
Took a set of salt and pepper shakers (actually the Mrs. grabbed them) and lots of pictures, left a george dollar, sun glasses and a rain poncho.

I found it! 30 Jun 2002    Keg Creek Georger!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

It's a good thing RobN Hood and I teamed up for this one. We took turns beating off the mosquitoes while the other read the GPS. We had a tough time of it due to the heavy foliage in the general area causing poor signal quality. We also made the mistake of wearing shorts and got into something (not poison ivy) that briefly made our legs burn. We did eventually find a very soggy cache. Bring a new zip lock or other container to replace the wet one if you can. Swapped a george dollar and hitched a ride out on a mosquito.

2/3 of Team EMS

I found it! 12 Jun 2002    George - George...George of the Jungle!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Once again this sport helped me discover a great place to hike almost in my backyard. This one was a group success with GeoG and RobN Hood. Swapped george dollar.

Hornet and Team EMS

I found it! 19 May 2002    The Shining Path  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Introduced two friends to geocaching with this one and we picked an interesting and challenging cache. Nice job cachemaster! I was sure I knew approximately where we were going to end up before starting, but boy were we wrong! Paying close attention to the clues and double-checking our math paid off. The cache is wet inside. Logbook and camera are OK inside the Ziploc bag. Identification sheet should be replaced, as it is pretty damp. Swapped g-dollar and left a bottle opener.

Hornet and "Team EMS"

I found it! 17 May 2002    Creeks Edge Cache!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Nice location! Even with all the rain recently, the way in and the cache were fairly dry. Swapped G-dollar, took blink-182 CD and left lantern keychain.

Hornet and the Boo

I found it! 17 May 2002    CARON S CACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Our second "find" of the afternoon. Great day for caching, overcast and about 50 degrees. Good location, we were scratching our heads for a few minutes. Took carabeener, left American flag.

Hornet and the Boo

I found it! 17 May 2002    Pink Panther  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

A geocache hat trick! Our third one of the afternoon! Great day for walk. My Alfred Tech grad took the Alfred U. pencil, left a t-shirt.

Hornet and the Boo

I found it! 21 Apr 2002    Earth Day Celebration '02  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Today at 5:20 PM we made our first find! I purchased a GPS receiver today then found the Geocaching website. I went hunting right away and now can't wait for the next one! Thanks for the pen. I left a bobber in case any one wants to go fishing.
