CACHE LOGS - May contain hints(spoilers)!   decode

I found it! 11 Dec 2004    Folklore  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I decided to take my boys on a ride to the mountains and do some Geocaching. The weather couldn't have been any better and we also stoped by to pick up my dad who lives in Co. city. We all decided that this is the best cache in the whole state of Colorado. The accomplishment that this guy achieved is unbelievable. Thanks for all the fun this virtual cache provided for us.

I found it! 31 Oct 2004    Denver Overlook Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We were in Denver to watch the football game and decided to do some caching too. If it wasn't for geocaching we would have never saw one of the best views of the city. The cache is in great shape. TFTC TNLNSL

I found it! 24 Sept 2004    Geode Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This is mine and Casey's first Navi-cache we found together in a long time. It's good to see that more of them are showing up in Colorado. The trip from Pueblo was well worth it. Even though it was harder to find the place to park than it was to find the cache.
We dropped off Timothy the travel bug that we just picked up yesterday, signed the log and put the cache back in it's place.

We are proud to have our first cache under our new username Broncoholics.

Thanks for the fun today.

I found it! 16 Mar 2003    Monkey See  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

WOW.......I will never forget about this one. It was Casey,
Chi,(our dog) and myself. It has been a while since Casey has gone caching with me, so he was really excited. Anyways, Casey was way out in front of me hoping to find the cache before me. I wasn't able to see Casey yet and he yelled out I FOUND IT. I said to him, "sweet you da man",
but when I approached him, he had his boots and socks off getting ready to get the cache. I said to him, "what are you doooing, are you crazy? Your mother would absolutely flip out if she knew what you were doing." He put his boots and socks back on, then I retrieved the cache. The cache is in great shape loaded with goodies. Thanks for the hide.

I found it! 16 Mar 2003    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

After having such a good time finding a few other caches in the area, we decided to keep going because we were having so much fun. The cache was in great shape, but Casey and I didn't see the bug.
It wasn't that important anyways because it's all about the hunt. We were walking on thin ice most of the way. So make sure to bring water proof boots if you plan on making it to the cache in the next couple of weeks.

Note 16 Jan 2003    Candie's Cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Decided to move this cache to a new location close by. The cache was found accidently in the summer time. The couple who found it kept signing the log and taking items out of it. The new hiding spot will prevent this from happening again, but should be an easy find in the winter or summer. Have fun and keep on caching.

I found it! 30 Nov 2002    Henpecked  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Casey and I went searching for this one yesterday and ran into Jeff from the Wheelygood team on the path. So we all worked together and found the first couple of waypoints. None of us ended up finding the final cache location though. It probably had something to do with the snow. So today I was on my way to Home Depot to buy the fitting I needed to fix our sink and ended up in the woods. LOL I found the final cache location today by myself because I went at the spur of the moment. The snow was almost gone and it made finding the cache a little easier. I noticed Wheelygood made it back to the cache in the morning!

Thanks for another great hide.

With the snow on the ground finding caches is a whole new ball game. I think the one star difficulty becomes a five, and the five star caches now become a ten. LOL
I eventually found the cache and signed the log book as quick as I could , and took Peter Pan TB. I didn't want any of the youngsters close by sledding to see me.

I said maybe someday Casey. LOL Anyways we found the nicely stocked cache and grabbed the travel bug. I took it home so our family can sign it.

Note 24 Nov 2002    Brandi's Buzzard Bate  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

I went looking for Brandis buzzard bate today. Well kinda, let me explain.......All I had was the coords and no cache description so I didn't know about the bridge or anything.
Anyways I parked on the side of the road and started walking on a nice path right behind some houses. The path was well maintained and not on private property. So I thought I was going the right way until the gps pointed across a creek. Thats when Casey told me we made a mistake and to turn around. I told him no and tried to cross the creek by walking across this log. As Casey was watching me I slipped and fell into the ice cold creek all the way up to my waste. The camera and the gps got submerged in water. The magellan gps is fine but the camera has water bubbles in the lenses. I think when it dries out it will be fine I hope. I will attempt this cache
from the correct way next time. LOL

I really didn't want to log this as a no find, but even after finding 80 caches, I still make mistakes. LOL I will attempt this one again in a week or two.

I found it! 16 Nov 2002    Rear View Mirror Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4.5 )

This one was fun even with out the sun. The snow and sleet was coming down and made the adventure more fun.

Casey and I managed to find the cache and the big crash.
The only real problem came when we got home. Casey took his school coat and boots with him. They were completely
covered in mud. His mother couldn't believe I allowed him to go on a cliff in school clothes. I tried to explain that I didn't know that they were school clothes and the cliff wasn't to dangerous. This is the second cache I've done with Casey that landed me in the dog house with Candie.

Oh well, she'll get over it. lol

The cache is in great shape and well hidden.

Thanks for another great hide!

I found it! 10 Nov 2002    Country Wheels  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3 )

I just thought for sure I would be first, I was wrong.
When I approached the first artifact, Caron and Elorado came out of no where. Anyways, Caron loaned me a pen so I could figure the math out. The next thing I knew, they were gone. I never caught back up with them to return the pen! LOL
They were probably at home already having coffee as I spun around in the woods. LOL Lets just say be very careful doing the math and punching in the right coords. I made a simple mistake that took me in the wrong direction. I soon realized my mistake and found the cache.

THIS CACHE WAS WELL PLANNED AND IS ONE OF THE BEST ONES I HAVE DONE.

I traded the Ink cartridge for three music cd's and left a george bill that we got from Hess.

I found it! 10 Nov 2002    Watership Down  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

After I found a really cool cache this morning by myself, I just had to take Casey (my son) on a cache. He put such a guilt trip on me. He just doesn't understand that sometimes
I just need a break. Peace and quiet you know.

This was just the cache to take him on. At first, we thought is was going to be like looking for a neeedle in a haystack. We were both wrong; the coords were dead on and Casey found the clue we needed to cache on. He also found his second bowling ball, in the middle of the woods, while geocaching! LOL What a trip, we were both laughing and having a wonderful time. We ended up finding the ammo box
in a few "short hops". LOLOL We appreciate the time and energy it took to place this cache.

This cache and the other one I did today makes geocaching well worth it; and my friends and family wonder why I am so hooked. LOLOLOL

we soon found the polar bear without fail.

We snapped a few pictures of the whole crew,

I found it! 03 Nov 2002    Genesee Valley Park I (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

My son Casey had a school picnic here not to long ago, so he insisted on doing this one. Probably so he can tell his teacher all about it. He just loves telling his navicache adventures at school. Especially this year because his new home room teacher had not a clue about caching. With three months into the school year, Casey's teachers and classmates know all about the sport. Anyways, we signed the log and got the cords for part 2. Thanks for the hide.

After Casey and I got the coords from part one, we found this one with ease. I guess we just got lucky because my gps said I was still 79 feet from the cache. The contents inside the cache was way cool. I had to remind Casey that we have to trade fair. He wanted an item in the cache so bad, but I have taught him well. Don't trade anything if it's not equal value. He understood and enjoyed the well stocked cache anyways. Thanks for another great hide.

Poor Upinyachit! Didn't get the email about the cache being temporarily disabled til after Duane, Casey and Kyle already left! I found it! 20 Oct 2002    Got Milk??  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Our family just loves them girl scout cookies. We just couldn't resist doing this one.

I had the boys eat a very healthy breakfast this morning because I knew they would need extra energy. With the winter aproaching fast and construction slowing down a bit, now I have more time to go caching and spend quality time with my two boys. Anyways, after the boys got in the truck and saw a stack of cache print outs, they knew it was going to be a full day of caching. To get the boys in the right mood, I let them hold the gps from the beginning of our driveway and lead me all the way to the cache. We all had a wheeley good time. Thanks for the excellent hide! I found it! 20 Oct 2002    Hey Mom & Dad give us the GPS  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hey Wheelygood, we had a 'wheelygood' time finding a few of your hidden caches today. Casey, Kyle, and I went on this one after finding your 'GOT MILK' cache. The temperature was just perfect for caching today. You introduced us to another lovely spot. At first Casey wanted to go play on the playground but decided not to when his brother was on his way to the cache already. They found the pot of gold and was as happy as a leprechaun. The pot was literally 'boiling' over with nice items. The boys made an even trade and I signed the log book. Thanks again for the nice adventure.

This was our third find of the day. This one had the best scenic view, though. The boys gave up looking for the cache after a couple of minutes. This was our first attempt at a micro cache, so the boys didn't quite get it. But I knew it was going to be there, I don't think anybody could stumble across this one. lol After a minute I found the container and signed the log. Thanks for the hide.

I took my son Casey and my daughter Katie to check and maitenance our cache. The area looks very different now;
I had to use my gps to find our own cache. LOL There must have been a huge wind storm, and knocked down a lot of trees.

I took some pictures to help with some clues.
We took the disposable camera so we can develop the pictures. Casey left an unopened pack of cards and I left a george bill and a buffalo nickel. Keep on caching!

Had to take a trip to the Indian Reservation, so we figured we would knock one off. Candie, Katie and I had a nice drive, except we missed the exit while we were discussing where to plan our next cache and had to go all the way to Buffalo before the next exit came up. 35 miles out of our way! :(

We found it with no problem. We took the Buffalo nickels to distribute to other caches and the dental floss. We left a couple of winning lottery tickets, a George bill and Charlotte, the travel bug.

A special thanks goes to Gamma Kit for making us feel right at home. When we walked in, she was right there to greet us and her hospitality was impeccable; as was everyone else's.

Well, we have decided that we will be attending the picnic after all. We weren't sure whether or not we were gonna make it, but looks like our gps will be taking the six of us there.

We will be bringing fixin's for cold cuts (no cooking! :) ) We will also be bringing a sheet cake from Wegmans, plastic utensils, trash bags, and cold pop to share with all.

We are looking forward to this picnic considering we are still recouping from our vacation. I have been working everyday, even on football Sunday! So this will be a well deserved outing.

I found it! 02 Sept 2002    Gypsum Mine  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I decided to do this cache while the rest of my family was getting ready to attend our annual family Labor day picnic. You would be surprised how long it takes for two teenage girls and my wife to get ready. LOL Anyways, I needed to relieve some stress and walking is a proven fact that it helps. As I was walking out the door, Chi(our dog) started barking and running around in circles. There was no way I was gonna leave without him. ( He is an addicted geocaching dog!)LOL After the short drive from home to the parking coords, Chi and I enjoyed the nice peaceful walk. My gps lead us right to the cache. I took the travel bug, left tools for ghouls (pumpkin carving tools)and an unscratched lottery ticket. I signed and dated the log book, then put the ammo box back as found.

Oh yeah, if a fellow goecachers happens to strike it rich, (LOL) make sure to instant message me and let me know of the good news.........

I found it! 24 Aug 2002    Subway Cache  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

My wife Candie is quite angry with me now. I told her I was taking Casey and Chi (our dog) caching today but not to this one. A while ago when this cache was placed, we both agreed this one wasn't suitable for children, and not to put any of us in a precarious situation. Anyways, I got to thinking; after reading some of the other logs I decided that this one could be fun, daring, and adventurous. I was right, it was all that and then some. After Casey held the flashlight and my hand the whole way, he was the one who spotted the cache.
So I lifted him up to grab it. We signed the log, took nothing, and left an Olandis Gary (rookie) NFL trading card.
When we got home Casey started bragging about how he can find any cache don't matter how tough or hard it is. That's when mom found out. Now I am in the dog house. I told her it wasn't that bad. We didn't even see one person or come across any real danger.

Thanks for the hide!

Looks like upinyachit will not be attending the picnic. :( Don't get us wrong, we would have loved to attend, but I have decided to drive the family to Colorado for vacation instead. We have family and friends out there begging to see us. It's been four years since our last visit to this great state. (I'm sure everyone will be amazed of how big the kids are now!)

Oh yeah; now we can hide a cache ON TOP OF PIKES PEAK; don't know what we'll call it yet, but when we do, Navicache will be the first to know!! (Not that many of you out here will be able to go and find it, but I'm sure there are future Navicachers out there that will; like family and friends!) Hee hee!!!!!

We will also be searching for the closest caches with the 80911 zip code!!!!!!!! (Cache puppies by the Cache hounds, for example.)

This is a link to where we are going. One of the most amazing places in the world...

I found it! 09 Jul 2002    Winged Things  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We went after this one on our way back from Hamlin. The kids and I paid much respect at the first. I had a neat conversation with my son and 5 year old Ashley.

Got to the second sight in a minute, but to my surprise,
Casey didn't want to go after the cache with me. The park
(that we didn't know about until now) was absolutely
magnificent. The kids played on the BIG jungle gym, and watched the skateboarders do tricks on the ramps.

Checked on our chit today, and it's all good. Looks like everybody traded fair, and the box is still filled with

I did notice that the Phantom grabbed Donkey kong, the traveler, and will be placing it into another cache soon!

After getting off work early due to the heat, I went home and chilled for a while. Then I clicked on Navicache.com
and noticed this one. The boys and I couldn,t resist. So we drove from Chili to Victor thinking we would be FIRST.

When we got to the location, we noticed someone else with a GPS. Sure enough, we found the treasure, and noticed we had been beat by 15 minutes. We didn't care though, Casey was still happy that he found the cache before his 12 year old brother. Casey traded a statue for a can cooler. Signed the log, too!

Wanted to do this one yesterday, but decided to wait.....

So, Casey and I went this morning; nobody else would wake up.

We found the treasure with Casey's own gps(garmin etrex).
He knows how to use the tool quite well, and he's only 10.
While we were admiring the treasure, we heard a BIG splash,
it scared the "chit" out of us! LOL The splash turned out to be a huge fish. The thing was jumping all over the place! It acted like it was guarding the cache! LOL Anyways, we made an even trade, and signed the log. Very nice, Quinn!

After work, we decided to give this one a shot. Casey and I thought for sure we would find this one, with the new clue and all. We wanted to place a travel bug, (good Winds) that we just retrieved. It's in a small little box, with Kite Wizard's Email address on it. I am working off of bay road which is two miles away. There's no way I will let this one slip away a third time. Casey and I will find it, no matter what. It just might take us a couple more times, but we will find it!

What a day this turned out to be!!!!!!

We were just like batman this morning , and found the Orc's
Treasure. After that, we went home and did some yard work, and some projects around the house. As I was finishing up, the boys suggested that we go swimming. So I took them to Webster off of Bay road and let them jump off of a small bridge, and go swimming. Anyways, on our way back home, we tried to find this one. I don't know where these boys get their energy, but we searched for a while, and just couldn't find it... the boys didn't seem to mind though, they were off finding their own treasures. I guess they just know how I am, and that eventually we will be back. Even the easy ones can sometimes fool ya! LOL

So, being Friday and knowing I didn't have to work tomorrow, it wasn't to hard to convince me to go.

This one was fun!! Of course the boys were with me, but I had to trick my soon to be 16 year old daughter into going.
I told her I was going to the mall but when she got in the truck and saw the GPS and camera, she knew she had been tricked. At first she was a little madd, but she got over it. On the way to the cache, she grabbed the gps from my hands like it was the phone!!!!! She punched in the coords like a trooper and lead us right to the cache.

She fell in love with the cute little bear when she opened the cache. We left a little wooden treasure box in exchange for the bear. We signed the log and left two GEORGE BILLS for tracking. I had a nice time with the kids today!

I had Anna, kyle , and casey looking through the woods like they were looking for a million dollars. But after searching the area again for about 45 minutes, no such luck..... We wern't at all dissapointed, the kids and I knew who hid it, so we knew it would be a challenge. Nonetheless; We all knew that we would be back.

I found it! 06 Jun 2002    Shagadellic Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

WOW!!!! What an adventure this turned out to be! After working all day; tired, sore, and just wanting to relax, I pulled in my driveway, and I saw that the boys were sitting on the door step. It was then that I knew. They had that "I want to go caching" written all over their face! I looked into their eyes and there was no way I could of told them No. They both ran up on me, showed me that their homework was done and their daily chores, so I had no choice but to go.

As tired as I was, I went right to the puter to check it out. The Shagadellic cache caught my eye, but I did notice how difficult it might be. I told my boys this one might not be a good idea. The terrain rating was high and I noticed that it might not be suitable for young children. I thought about it a minute, and as I was thinking, the boys were telling me that I didn't have to pay them their allowance if I took them... :)

So when I heard that, and realizing that they both have caching experience, out the door we went. Took about twenty minutes to get there from Chili, but it was well worth it. As we came close to the cache, I was a little nervous, but the boys were close by my side, and hiking cautiously. Found cache with a little bit of searching and the boys got a kick out of opening the box! LOL

Traded the whoopie cushion, hawaiian lei, and our favorite, the George Bills. We left some very old foreign coins that we traded when we first started caching. Left two georges, also. Thanks for the wonderfull adventure and a very nice cache! Can't wait for the next one!

I parked at Froggy's restaurant after my two boys tried to convince me to rent another means of transportation at a close by store. LOL! I told them maybe in the near future.

Anyways, the boys flipped a coin to see who was to hold the GPS to the cache. Kyle had the luck this day; we followed him all the way to the cache! The boys drew a picture and signed the log.

With the weather being so perfect and a house FULL of kids,
we decided to go caching. Why not?!?!?! Its free, it's fun, and you get great exercise.

With us being native New Yorkers, we've never been to this town, and boy do we regret it. The drive only took about 45 minutes from rochester, and it didnt even seem that long with the beautiful scenery. We had a nice walk on the path, and Ashley, who is 5 years old, had the time of her life. She was the one to find the cache, with a little help, of course. Thanks for the find Caron!

I found it! 14 Apr 2002    No Exit  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Fourth cache of the day,
and still going strong.
Went home and changed,
but something was wrong.
I found myself bored,
with nothing to do.
So I went on the site,
to find something new.
Chose a "No Exit"
that seemed quite alright.
I grabbed my son Casey,
and headed for the site.
We exchanged our three Georges,
and then signed the log.
We were all soaking wet,
including the dog.
"Down in the Dumps"
was called Part 2.
It was then that we knew,
exactly what to do.
So, head for Part 2
of the "Down in the Dumps" site.
To see what we still have
left to write.

I found it! 14 Apr 2002    Down in the Dumps  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

"Down in the Dumps"
was kinda cool.
Took the right path,
had the right tool.
Saw six deer,
on the side of the trail.
But it wasn't long,
before they started to bail.
Took a cool rock,
and left a George bill.
We signed the log,
then left up the hill.
Looking forward to caching,
at another time.
Thank you Barrington,
for another great find.

I found it! 31 Mar 2002    Genesee River Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

Well, we had no problem finding the location to park but as far as north and south, that remained to be seen. We went north instead of south and stumbled across a part 2 of another cache!!! We eventually went in the right direction and found the cache we were originally seeking. How neat was that! Ended up solving two in one day!!!

Left a george, and a dog bonz, and took a dog buisquit for Chi. Very neat hiding spot and we are very much hooked!

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    Seneca Trails  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well, for the family's first cache with no GPS, I would say we did pretty well. It took us two separate times, but it was great. The first attempt we found ourselves standing on the very tree it was near! Then we came and printed the maps to bring with us. The anticipation running towards all those tree stumps!!! LOLOL We took a stir stick from the "Castaways" in Miami, Florida, signed the log, and left a toy truck, a playstation game, a watch keychain, two george's for tracking purposes, my son's nickel, and a little something from our chowdog chi for the cache pooches. We are going again today on this beautiful Saturday! What a great way to get the family together!

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    Night Stalker Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Well, well, well. I am not sure where to start my report; either in part one or part two; since we found part two first by mistake looking for an entirely different cache!!!! We were looking for the Genesee River Cache in the beginning and went the wrong way. You see, we are a large family with no GPS!!!! So, I will tell my tale in part two!!!

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    Night Stalker Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

So, here we are, looking for an entirely different cache, when all of a sudden, just as we were losing hope, one of the children in our pack found the second part of this cache. Which meant what? It meant back to the computer we go, since we weren't looking for this cache in the first place to get part one. Went back home to get it, in the mean time, half of our nine stayed behind waiting with the box of part two. During the time we were gone, the other half managed to find the one we were originally looking for, so that gave us ample opportunity to focus on part one. We raced back excitedly and headed to the you know where, looking for you know who, to open the you know what!!!! Took an hour to get through the part one, remember we have no GPS and we are all on foot; just workin' with the map at lostoutdoors.com!!! This is so great!!!! You people don't even have a clue as to how excited our group was this day!!!!

We took some items of equal value to the items we left, such as the glow stick, two key chains, and the screw driver. A jar full of stuff was added. We also took a group picture with our dog, Chi. We also got the george from it to circulate, and left a replacement.

We discovered this site two days ago, and we as a group are very much hooked! We have found 3 caches and are very proud of them!!!!

Keep up the exciting work, and we will be waiting for more!!!!
