I found it! 31 Jan 2003    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it after work. Lots of snow on the ground. Took awhile but between using the Etrex and my trusty compass, I found it. Poked a lot of holes in a lot snow with my hiking stick.I had thought of using my snowshoes, but it was pretty thick bushwacking in some places. Had some trouble picking up the signals in ccertain spots, but just walked back out, used the compass to sight a bearing and visualized locations, such as a couple of trees. On the third try with this method, I found the cache by poking into the snow. I grew a very large smile on my face when my hiking stick created a metal thud after poking it around in the snow. i either found the cache or something else. ache box was exposed under the snow and frozen to the ground. Had a tough time prying it loose ! left a practice ( yellow with a red dot ) golf ball and took a Suzan B. Antony coin. Cache box seems kind of empty. 1st to find it this year. Next week I will be going to check out the Orient Express cache in the same park. Thanks for the stash.

I found it! 22 Nov 2002    Bookcrossing with Basil  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Found it after work. Someone left a beer can on it. Box was part open. traded Alfred Hitchcok mystery for The Shark Hunter. It was raininng but the books were dry.

I found it! 08 Sept 2002    Cracker-Barrel Keepsake  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found it with the kayak. Looks in good shape. No snakes there. I did see one later on sunning itself on a log. great day to out on the river. hanks.

I found it! 06 Sept 2002    Durand Discovery 1  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I did the five cords in no particular order. Just entered them into the GPS and wondered about. Of course , I found the cache on the last set of numbers entered, but not in the order they are shown on the web page, maybe .

A really neat cache hunt and a great way to view the park. I then went to hunt the Leprecon's Treasure cache. Spent about an hour....couldn't find it. Haaa. Then as I was entering the info on this cache I found that it is no longer there. I keep a bunch of printed out cache hunts in a folder so I can have them handy if I go someplace. I usually check to web to make sure they are still active. Except this ONE time. Oh well, got a grea tour of the park. Thanks for a great cache hunt.

I found it! 03 Aug 2002    CARON S CACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Found it. Went to the location that Mr. Etrex told me to go. Right in the middle of an open spot. But having been successful at find 80 of these things, I started my search pattern and tried to think like the hider. Bingo. Searched three possible spots. Found it at the third. The cache is in good shape.....however the log book needs writing utensils. I only had the one pencil, or I would have left something.
camera has lots of film left on it. I was here in the mid-winter for Pink Panther and it is neat to see all the green. Bugs weren't bad, sunny, clouds less day. Thanks.

I found it! 23 Jul 2002    The Treasure Of Blackbeard  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it ok. Neat spot. Cache ok. Thanks. Makes # 76 find.

I found it! 14 Jul 2002    Heron Bay  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Found it by kayak. neat idea of the stamp. Excellant day for kayaking. Went as far south until I couldn't paddle anymore ( water too shallow ). Sunny and warm, a few clouds. lots of big fish chasing little fish. a couple of deer on the shores. many geese and ducks. but the strangest creatures I saw were the ones in Ellison Park ! Thanks for the cache.

Note 14 Jul 2002    Paddle Back  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 5 )

Second one of the day by kayak. This makes my 74th find. Just left this spot and three kayaks went by. Slipped a little getting back in when I heard voices...didn't want to give up the location. Great day and a wonderful way to spend a sunny sunday afternnon. thanks.

I found it! 08 Jul 2002    Badge Adventure cache!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

What a neat adventure. i have been to this park before, but not in this mode. Loved the twist.......I did a double-take...and said to myself.....hhhmmmmm?

Why would...?!?!?!?! ahhhh. Lots of skeeters. left about a pint of blood near the cache. Lots of fun. Thanks.

Note 26 Jun 2002    Keg Creek Georger!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it as the third one for the day. In good shape, but both baggies are torn opn. Contents dry. One car in parking lot, but never saw occupants around. Circled the cache a couple of times before locating it. The foilage is really green and thick...added to the fun of finding it. Lots of skeeters who are thirsty and have little mini-GPS units to zero in on human blood stores. I guess we are their answer to "fast-food"

This was a fun adventure and a wonderful way to complete a weekend. Now I need to go scratch a dozen bug bites.

Note 23 Jun 2002    Eversure's C&S Cache....  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found it. My Etrex was playing with me at first. But finally settled down and lead me to it. The most challenging part was to not be spied by others in the area. Took longer to pick the right moment then it did to locae the cache. Very hot dat...but great just to be out and about. Cache is in good shape. This is a wonderful park, I was in the area and decided on 3 geocaches. Found all 3, but one was trashed by someone with an opposable thumb! Thanks

Note 21 Jun 2002    Three Celtic Crosses  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What a neat adventure. I drive near here just about every day. I have done a couple "by the numbers " caches and they are all great fun. This one was the most interesting and the hottest temperature so far. The coldest was Isabel part 1 and 2 ( about 10 degress and a raging windy snow squall ). I look forward to doing more of these. Thanks.

I found it! 01 Jun 2002    the erie cache  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Took awhile but I finally located it. Lots of possible locations. But I used a compass along with the GPS for such situations. Unique area. Almost like walking on the moon, If you know what I mean. Got the chance to see the TOP of an AmTrac train going about 60 MPH.

I found it! 31 May 2002    sir rotten ronnie cache  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 4.5 )

Found it ok. But it was part open and full of water. It may need to be dried out. Didn't want to leave it open incase of more rain. Neat spot to hide it. Did the Erie Cache first then looked for this one.

I found it! 24 May 2002    Message in a Bottle  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Etrex led me right to them. Started to get muggy. First time in this location. Both caches are in good shape and dry to boot. This puts me close to 50 completed and 2 to go back to! I love it. thanks.

I found it! 14 May 2002    Goin' Fishin' Cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found it ok. Very rainy day. lots of water in the area. Cache is in good shape, nice and dry. Bit of a challange getting there and not getting wet above the knees! Did this one on the way home from work. Only a couple of miles from my house. great spot.

I found it! 10 Apr 2002    Hamlin Name It & Claim It  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it. A very different location. That's all I'll say this time.

I couldn 28 Mar 2002    Hamlin Name It & Claim It  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Looked today, found the paper with the second set of lat/long instructions, but the math puts me somewhere near south of Spencerport. Will recalculate the math and do again. I only live 4 miles from the first part of this cache. So it is kind of a bummer that I didn't get it first time. This would have been my 29th find....first one that I didn't get on the first attempt. Now I am obsessed with finding it. Gack? I will return.
