CACHE LOGS - May contain hints(spoilers)!   decode

I found it! 31 Aug 2014    Boldt Castle Virtual  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

After more than 10 years, this Navicache only virtual has been found!! It's actually a little difficult to find the spot, but I imagine if anyone has ever tried it, they would have logged a DNF. I'm at Ft. Drum on a public computer, but I can upload the required photo in a day or too. Thanks Quinn! P.S. what are those kids, like in College now? :-)

EDIT: The Navicache site is hopelessly broken, and I see the Google maps on the cache pages don't even work anymore. The link to my photo also no longer works. Just look at my blog post at http://blog.opencaching.us/2014/09/10-years-ftf-lonely-virtual-cache.html to see the photo.

Note 13 May 2014    Houdini  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Holy crud! I was caching in First Landing State Park about a month ago (April 16th I believe), but didn't know about this cache, as The Navicaches are no longer showing properly on Scouts cache maps at GPSgames.org. How cool would it be to be the first person to crack this sucker open (if it's still there) in 8 years?

Oh well, I'll alert DudleyGrunt from Maryland of it's existence, I'm sure he'll get down there some time. I myself may never set foot in Virginia Beach again.

Note 19 Dec 2012      ( Difficulty:     Terrain:  )

I guess I missed that 3 years ago, a couple people who are not Geocachers stumbled on this cache listing, and didn't like the write-up, which is admittedly probably based on Lockport area urban legends floating around, to the point that they created accounts to commment on it. I've found some newspaper articles stating that a local ghost hunting society got permission the open the place up for tours in 2008 or 2009, but nothing recent, and their referenced website is dead. I will try to check this out and see if these tours still exist.

I found it! 20 Oct 2012    The Van Horn Mansion  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Funny log there, MickEMT. Not only did "TWU", as he's still known on Navicache, not beat you there, he decided to show up, umm, over 6 years later. Mrs. "TWU", heard about this place, and wanted to come here for a couple years, as her name is Malinda too. Melinda, actually, same difference. And the ghosts husband was Jim, like me. Combine that with the main characters of the TV show The Ghost Whisperer being a married couple named Melinda and Jim, and that's some spooky-assed stuff, eh? To be honest, I thought the Halloween season tour was too long (an hour and 45 minutes), and short on history, and long on amateur ghost hunter tour guides pontificating about their alleged paranormal experiences. And some chick on the tour in our party of 20 must have bathed in fabric softener today, that was unbelievably annoying. Don't mind me though, I like to complain. It's a very interesting place with a lot of history, and what a great job of restoring it. Thanks for placing it way back when Gryfindor!

I found it! 18 Aug 2012    International Geocaching Day Wet Event.  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 5 )

Sorry, I guess I never logged here. Had a great time, although I thought the people on shore and wading off the beach were a might bit overzealous in getting people wet! Definitely make this an annual affair.

I found it! 12 Jul 2012    Dudley Comes to WNY  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Logging here. Yeah, I should look into a name change over here, eh? Thanks for hosting, great time.

Note 10 Jul 2012    Dudley Comes to WNY  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Yep, I'll be there. This is Mr. Yuck, I still have a retro Geocaching username here.

I found it! 24 Jun 2012    The Amazing 4 in 1 Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Ruh Roh, first to log here? Yeah, I kind of gave up on this website after Opencaching.us came out. It hadn't been updated since like 2002, although they did a small update and made the site look a little better shortly before they sold it. Anywho, I have an account, although it's probably the first find I've logged here in over 2 years. TFTC!

Note 01 Jan 2012    The Oops! Cache (In more ways than one) - Navicache Only  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 4 )

I placed 2 Opencaching.us caches nearby, and I did not see this thing. Feel free to look for it, and keep it if it's still there somewhere. Which I highly doubt. Be careful though!!!

I found it! 13 Nov 2011    Waiting The Storm out II  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hey, I figured I'd post my first Navicache find log in what, like 2 years? All while trying out the new site layout, which I see is over 3 months old now. I just happened to be passing through this neighborhood on the way to Wyoming County the day this was published, and stopped by about 8:30 AM, and found it no problem. TFTC.

I found it! 02 Jan 2010    Winging In The New Year  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

And I was! Someone has to log it here. :-)

Note 22 Dec 2009    Winging In The New Year  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Yeah, I think I'll be there.

I found it! 03 Dec 2009    WNY Rail History #3 NYC Tonawanda Turnout  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

First find with my emergency cheap-assed Garmin Gecko, after losing my GPS 60 last weekend. It told me 14 feet at the cache, so it still kind of works, I guess. But I'm logging this a month later, and I actually had found the GPS 60. Good job on the research, pal. I grew up about 1/2 a mile from the cache site, and about 300 feet from the elevated tracks, and I didn't even know some of that stuff. I'll bet most people don't know there's a double set of tracks up there. Yes, I dangerously hung around up there as a child. The cache was found pretty quickly, although I did have to look around a little bit. TFTC and the history.

I found it! 13 Nov 2009    WNY Rail History #2 Wagner Palace Car Co.  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This was much more "urban" than I expected, and involved a rather rough road, at least the way I came. It was a pretty cool hiding spot, I was convinced it wasn't there. But I figured it had to be, and after further investigation, it was. Thanks for the history. I found it on Friday the 13th. Hopefully I'll make it until midnight, and not meet my demise like Mr. Wagner. TFTC.

I found it! 27 Aug 2009    Harlow Lake Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found after dropping the daughter and a friend off at the Lil' Wayne Concert at Darien Lake. As I finally log this 4 months later, he's in jail on a weapons charge. Sucks to be him, eh? This was a long walk, longer than I expected. Conversation Trail was muddy and overgrown in spots, but pretty nice in others. Thanks for the hike and the cache.

I found it! 07 Jul 2009    Waiting The Storm Out  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

I have never noticed this area before. But I have a reason to be in the neighborhood twice a week for 10 months (my daughter's new cheerleading team). Found no problem, although that's some ankle breaker terrain on the way to it. TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 07 Jul 2009    Bufalo & Depew Railway - WNY Rail History #1  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Had some difficulty finding the rail trail itself and a place to park. But eventually I spotted the trail, and parked about .20 miles away. I then found the cache without difficulty. TNLN, thanks for placing it and the history.

Note 22 Jun 2009    West Seneca Wetlands  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Log entry was deleted.

I found it! 07 Jun 2009    Chowder Party  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Interesting story. Sounds like you're just a couple years older than me. There used to be two caches close enough to this location that Geocaching.com would not have allowed this cache, but they are both gone now. I found this pretty much in the first place I looked, and TNLN. TFTC.

I found it! 22 May 2009    DNNSGPS' Golden Ammo Can  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

The Frog website is down as I'm typing this log, but I'm pretty sure I found this around Memorial day, and am just guessing at the date. No big deal, I'm sure. Parked a little closer than recommended, and found the golden ammo box without too much of a problem. I took a Geocoin from the other website, otherwise did not trade. Thanks for the cache, and congrats to the honoree.

I found it! 08 Mar 2009    Mary Lake and the Augustinians  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

Just noticed this listed here, logging about 10 months later. Found it after dropping 4 girls off near the airport for a cheerleading competition, and heading north for some more "rural" caching. This one caught my eye because it was listed as a Terracache, and it did not disappoint! Great hike and location that I put on my favorite caches bookmark list over at the Froggy website. TFTC.

I found it! 24 Jan 2009    Corbett's Glen  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Found with a group of 7 from Buffalo (only one of which may even log it here). Very nice location! Found no problem. Thanks for your attention to the cache, even though you're not a wacky big-time active geocacher.

I found it! 24 Jan 2009    Cemetery Knickknacks  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Must have been a two-part multi in the past!! That's OK, we all know this website is practically dead. Sad, seeing as Rochester is Navicache World HQ. Anyways, found this with a group of 11 people. Even so, it took at least 5 minutes for us all messing around in the hard crusty snow. I TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 22 Nov 2008    ISLAND OASIS TOUR  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

Hello Rock. I know you've given up on this site, but I still use it. Someone has to. :-) This was a nice tour of the Island, I liked it. Found the cache no problem. TFTC.
[Modified 2008-12-03 10:25:49]

I found it! 22 Nov 2008    DRIVING PARK GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Never knew MickEMT got out this way, but he does indeed get around. I parked as close to this as I could (about .15 miles), and found it exposed and upside down in the snow. Replaced where I'm sure it's supposed to go. Got to see the Driving Park in use later after finding some other nearby caches, that was pretty neat. TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 07 Sept 2008    Ode to Odin  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 2 )

Yup, we found it! I hadn't really received any hints at Burning Micro IV, other than it was well camoflauged. Found after about 10 minutes of stumbling around in the woods (after a wrong calculation lead us near, but not on, the golf course). The 9 yr. old was freaking out, he found a Captain Underpants book which he claims he couldn't find at the local Barnes and Noble. I threw in some stuff that I'd consider an equal trade, although I have no recollection what they were. Cache is in excellent shape inside and out, bone dry, including some comic books. Thanks for the cache QM.

I found it! 06 Sept 2008    Burning Micro IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Well, this certainly lived up to expectations. Upon arriving, I was shocked to hear one of the lame temporary caches was named in my honor! It turns out it was a hiding method that is common in my area. Now that was funny. Nice hill, I only had to rest twice on the way back up, and almost got hit by a flying potato while doing it. My son wasn't shy about taking the last raffle ticket from that temporary cache, and it turned out the be the winner for getting to light the micro pyre. If anyone has pictures of that (and I know several were taken) PLEASE contact me and send me a copy; that's a no brainer for my profile pic at the Frog website. It was great to finally meet QM, as well as others fighting the good fight in the forums (Doc Ditto, Klatch, Antaries and D@nim@l). Thanks to LJ for the amazing meatball sandwiches, glad I got one of those before they were gone. Looking forward to the next time, and hoping I can spend a lot more time in the area then.

I found it! 02 Aug 2008    A Geocachical Oddity  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Logging like a year later, never noticed it posted over here. Found the final no problem, and traded for some small trinkets for my then 8 yr. old. TFTC.

I found it! 26 Jul 2008    Chocolate Covered Jelly Beans  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

As I said over at the frog website, I never really looked at the listing to see what chocolate covered jelly beans were. Pretty funny. Except I didn't see a single one. Found the cache no problem, and it's an interesting little trail system the locals have here. TFTC.

I found it! 26 Jul 2008    Log "it's the new toy for kids"  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Log is better than bad, it's good. Tons of undergrowth, not an easy cache in July, but found it due to the excellent coords. TFTC.

Note 18 Jul 2008    Burning Micro IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

It seems Mrs. Urkel forgot about the one year notice I gave her for the 2008 edition of Burning Micro, but I'm still looking at a 90%+ chance of me being there. Editing a month later, I will be there for sure.
[Modified 2008-08-21 14:07:57]

I found it! 17 Jul 2008    SSG Aram Bass Memorial Cache  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 4 )

Oops. Sorry FFoF, I never saw this listed here. Logging almost a year later. This was a very interesting hide, and I risked my life by going much further than I had to. TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 24 May 2008    Welcome to Bowmansville  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it on this day on the way to a very cold Lancaster Speedway with Urkel Jr. Very nice unknown rail trail, I would have never had any idea it was there. Traded a bunch of trinkets for the boy. TFTC.

I found it! 25 Apr 2008    MC-Square  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Yeah, I should have come in from the canal trail, I got a ticket on campus!! It shall not be paid, we'll see what happens there. :-) Thanks for the cache, which was obviously upgraded to an ammo box at some point.

Oh by the way, a year later, I've renewed my license and registration, and transferred plates to a different vehicle with no problem. So MCC parking tickets are a joke to non-students. I suppose they could hold your diploma if you were a student though. :-)

I found it! 25 Apr 2008    Iroquois Transplanted  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Great old school cache. I found it after finding the two newer geocaching.com only caches on the way to it. Standing alone, as it did in the olden days, this cache is a one-mile round trip to a great area. TNLN, TFTC.

Note 04 Mar 2008    Get that thing out of the house AKA a Avian Cache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 3 )

Cache was destroyed by critters!! Retiring.

I found it! 08 Feb 2008    HB's Lame Guardrail Micro  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

How on earth did I forget to log this here? I was there in February some time. But it's so lame, I don't feel like looking up the date. Just take my word for it.

I found it! 27 Dec 2007    HI-LO Geocache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Almost forgot this was listed here, logging a couple of weeks late. This was the main reason for, and the highlight of, a caching trip to Orleans County for myself and HuckleBuckle. This cache, and the area are everything they're advertised, awesome! I love the red rock of the waterfall and creek bed, it's pretty unusual for WNY. We found the cache no problem, despite some leftover melting snow in the area. I took a dollar bill, and left a couple of electronic games. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 01 Dec 2007    Kariya Wedding Bell  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Just noticed this listed here. Found it over 2 years ago, while I was waiting for my daughter at a Cheerleading competition at The Hershey Center. Downtown Mississauga is very colorful, and the cache was found without too much difficulty.

I found it! 30 Oct 2007    Rails To Trails To Travel Bugs  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found no problemo, and dropped a TB on the geocaching.com side. TFTC.

I found it! 21 Oct 2007    It's the end of the Line for you !  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I was surprised to see this listed here (I check the newest Navicaches in the world maybe once a week). Well, welcome to the site, always nice to have an alternative to The Frog website. Logging a month later, but I remember it took me a few minutes to find. Good luck on this abandoned railway becoming a real rails to trails in the future. TFTC. Edit for correct date.

I found it! 18 Sept 2007    MickEMT's Invisible Club House  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Yippee First to find on Navicache!!!! I know that's old, but I never tire of it, sorry. Too bad I can't tatoo the cache owners page with an unwanted FTF bookmark list here :-). So this was a nice little hike in the Ridge, and I found without too much of a problem despite the usual poor gps coverage in the park. TFTC.

edit for wrong date.

I found it! 07 Sept 2007    HTC  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Just noticed this posted here on this website. I went out the first day it was active, during lunch hour. It's a pretty cool hide, which I found without too much difficulty. I like the way you don't find out what the hell HTC is until you open the cache. TNLN, TFTC. Oh, and nice to briefly meet you, while you risked your vehicle in traffic. :-)

I found it! 09 Jun 2007    Collin's Micro  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Woohoo!! FFFFFTTTTTFFFFF!!! What's that, I'm only the first to log on this website? Oh, sorry. Found no problem, my hotel was less than a mile away. I guess Navicache is about as dead in NEPA as it is everywhere else these days. TFTC.

I found it! 26 May 2007    528.33575859 Feet in Burchfield Park!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Well, after reviewing all the logs for this cache before logging, I don't feel so bad about my 20 minute, and almost walked away with a DNF, search I'll blame it on near darkness, arrived on site at 8:15 PM. It's grown in pretty well since the cache was placed, and there is a little (but not a lot) of P.I. in the area. I left a biner, TN. TFTC, HB.

I found it! 13 Apr 2007    The Ebenezer Society  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

This is a great cache, HB. I had to try it three times though! Don't know what I did the first two times, but I came up with the same WRONG calculation both times. Finally, I read the logs, and everyone mentioning an obstacle which I never encountered with my calcs, told me to try one more time, CAREFULLY. Then I found the cache no problem. Don't remember what I traded, TFTC.

I found it! 24 Mar 2007    Pet Cemetery  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2.5 )

So close to the City, yet so rural. Found the post office, then found the park, with little difficulty. First stop after Erie (hey, I had to pass through there). Missed the Pet Cemetery itself on the first pass, but came back to it. They're mostly very old burials, but there are a few recent ones. Got the information no problem, and headed off the wrong way, but it was a nice walk with an interesting feature, and made my way to the cache without difficulty. Found it quite easily, coords were ridicuously dead on. Did not take nor leave anything, just stood around and enjoyed the view for a while, and made my way back to the vehicle and the barking dogs. Thanks for the cache.

I couldn 24 Mar 2007    Traffic Island  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

I'm a clueless out of towner, and I could not find a way to Traffic Island. I did, before giving up, find a long, yet feasible way to it, but I was staying at the Airport, and darkness was approaching, so I hit the road. I will try again some other time when I'm in the neighborhood.

I found it! 04 Mar 2007    Fly By And Ferret It Out  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

Hey, where's the photo?? And how come it's only 2.5 star difficulty here? Just kidding, very good puzzle, almost killed me. Finding the cache was brutal too, took 3 of us over 1/2 an hour on site. May be a little easier without snow, but then you have to deal with the year-round swamp, I'm sure. TNLN, although the used, dirty golf balls were tempting ;-).

I found it! 31 Jan 2007    Right On Target  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

HB is stalking me, placing caches 400 feet from the back property line at work (but more like .25 miles from my desk). I however, am not as proud of HB as Szuchie is, as I remember calling it a "defacto parking lot cache" on geocaching.com, even though it's not a micro :-). I found it the morning after publishing on the way to work, although I'm sure some rabid WOOOHOOO FTF hound was there at 11:00 PM with a flashlight the night before. I TNLN, and come to think of it, I've never seen anyone looking for it almost a year later. I actually kind of forgot it was there!!

I found it! 12 Jan 2007    Creepy Cayuga Creek  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Na Na Na, I finally beat Mick to a Navicache FTL. Woohoo! Props to me! Nice little spot for a cache HB, found no problem, TNLN and concealed well. TFTC.

I found it! 12 Jan 2007    Fort Knox  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Found no problem. The park was extremely wet during the January thaw. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 25 Dec 2006    Just For The Heck Of It  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Also found after the event. With Szuchie of all people! Naw Mick, HB will never catch up :-).

Note 20 Dec 2006    Nature View Park #5 AKA These pretzels are making me thirsty!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Man, this place is a mess after the October 2006 freak snowstorm. But I checked today (slow going with a the downed trees and brush), and this cache is good to go.

Note 18 Dec 2006    Fairmount Park  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

I'm killing this cache, but will put out a different Fairmount Park cache in the near future. Thanks to all who visited.

I found it! 02 Dec 2006    Sitting Bull  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Logging much later on Navicache, but I remember this well; spent way too much time attempting to research native American numbering systems, before determining that HB just made the puzzle up!! Smart aleck :-). I was with Rayman, and we found no problem and I believe we TNLN. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 24 Nov 2006    Portkey: Hawley Bridge  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Darn it, second to log on Navicache. Oh so what, I have more Navicache finds them him. And no, I'm not really serious. This one, Gryff, took me about 1/2 hour to find!! I even called a previous finder, but they weren't home. Had to do it all by myself!! Probably just me though, I don't think it needs 3.5 stars or anything. Took a TB from the geocaching.com side, SL. TFTC.

I found it! 05 Nov 2006    Remember Our Veterans  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Woohoo! 2TL on Navicache. Mick's not really serious about that, is he? Nice little military hardware hide, took, me about 5 min. or less. TFTC, HB.

I found it! 05 Nov 2006    Frogs, Lizards, Flies, and Beetles.  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Darn, another 2nd to log behind Mick. I'll never beat him LOL. Nice place for a cemetery cache, very old and interesting. Container had about 2" of ucky water in it though. Logbook is fine though. TFTC, HB.

Note 29 Oct 2006    OLD NORTH EVANS BRIDGE CACHE  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Log entry was deleted.

I found it! 29 Oct 2006    STEAMSHIP ERIE - On The Seaway Trail  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Ooops. Logged Old North Evans Bridge by mistake. Never been there. I meant to log this one. I wrote:

Thanks for listing some caches here! Found on a nasty, windy day. Very nice interesting historical site here, TFTC.

I found it! 10 Sept 2006    Welcome to Orchard Park  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I agree, the camo job does work good. TFTC HB.

I found it! 30 Jul 2006    Rebel Base  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Logging here first, as geocaching.com is up to it's old tricks of CRASHING ON SUNDAY'S. I don't know how the hell the Flash's beat us to this, when we were only 1.5 miles away at another cache, and had someone who get's text message alerts of new caches on his cell. But beat us they did. Found easliy, great idea, TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 30 Jul 2006    The Intruder  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Just noticed here, logging a few weeks later. This was a great cache, very nicely done. I TNLN, TFTC.

I found it! 29 Jul 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series Final: Boathouse  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Took me a while to log here. I was waiting until Searching Seniors found the cache first. I guess that's not going to happen? I bushwacked to it, took the express route out. I left a compass keychain for a lightstick. I enjoyed this series very much! Too bad about Graycliff, but you never know, maybe some day. TFTC.

I found it! 23 Jul 2006    The Past of West Seneca  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

Found pretty quickly once on site. Answers were no problem (figured it out a few weeks prior). Yes, that's some decent terrain! Nice historical sort of location too, ties in with the cache well. Left a processor puller outer, took a compass keychain TFTC.

I found it! 18 Jul 2006    The Season Series: SPRING  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hmm. Hadn't even looked at the cache page on the other site in like a year. I forgot the little dig at me about Squirt Gun's. :-). And that was before West Seneca was FILLED with Gunn's. Ha Ha!! Speaking of which, I think a cache owner from NYC, who recovered the squirt gun from his own cache, has been holding on to it for like a year. TFTC, HB.

I found it! 17 Jul 2006    Pond Overlook  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Found it, but got goose poop all over my shoes!! TFTC.

I found it! 16 Jul 2006    DROMOS  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Logging over a year later. Lets see, what do I remember? The puzzle was pretty easy, and there was a lot of bushwacking. I was slightly worried about getting turned around in there, but all I would have had to do was follow traffic noise. Oh yeah, this is the cache where I received gladware as a gift. I will cherish it forever. TFTC.

I found it! 01 Jul 2006    The Dyngus Day Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Here I am Mick!! HB's been a little lax on listing his on Navicache right away, or it least it seems. I've kind of been forgetting about it myself! So I took a squirt gun from this cache. Yes a squirt gun. But we're getting lots o' laughs about it over on the gc.com side. Thanks for the cache, HB.

Note 20 Jun 2006    Oops! Wrong turn  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

OOOOPS! Forgot to retire :-)

I found it! 18 Jun 2006    A DEVIL OF A HIKE  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3.5 )

Dragged the last Navicache finder with me on the way to other caches. I was telling him on the way down the stairs that I used to carry cases of beer down to Devil's hole in my college days. And they didn't have those nice cases of cans with built in handles back then either! I found this after about 5-10 min. on site. Definately one of the more overgrown and little used sections of the gorge trail. TFTC, Mr. Mom.

I found it! 18 Jun 2006    RAW POWER!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 4 )

I once walked right by this on the way to another (not listed on Navicache) cache .13 miles away. I wasn't really even a newbie then, just stupid :-). So it took me two years to drag my ass back down there. I forgot to say in all my logs that Devil of a hike and Raw Power are both dry and in good shape. A little rust on both ammo boxes, but nothing like Rapid Art. TFTC Mr. Mom.

I found it! 03 Jun 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series #5: Blue Sky Mausoleum  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I dunno Rayman, looks like Senior Searches have given up on your series here! Got there shortly after opening, saw another vehicle, knew it had to be a geocacher. I then met CheapSunglasses at the final. As a matter of fact, they just handed me the cache :-). Masoleum was very interesting. TFTC and series, Rayman.

Note 03 Jun 2006    Barbershop Dru 1k Bash and Pub Night  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Time to kill this one here. Hey, thanks to the four people who logged it here, and for attending, of course. By my count 40 people attended, not bad for about 13 days notice.

I found it! 19 May 2006    Vertical Challenge II  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found on my 3rd attempt. About 10 minutes this time, 45 minutes total. TFTC, Mick.

I found it! 13 May 2006    Barbershop Dru 1k Bash and Pub Night  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I guess it's safe to log early here. I dunno Huckle, I'll strongarm a few people into logging here :-). I'm still Buffalo's 2nd biggest Navicache supporter. Several people expressed concern privately that I made enough off the raffle to cover hall rental and expenses (thanks for the concern). Initially, I thought we were $11 over, but the next day, I found a several 10's in what I thought was only a stack of 1's!!! So yes, very successful. Had I known at the time, I would have raffled off some cash :-). I'll be sure to spread the wealth at future events, and if you were at this event and run into me on the trail, I owe you a beer, or in the case of HB, a soft drink.

Yes, 40 people attended by my count, great event and thanks to all who attended.

I found it! 13 May 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series #4: Davidson House  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Oh crud. What good is a FLW cache without a Navicache log from Edna and the Senior Searchers? Another interesting house Rayman. Somehow though I think they must have been pretty bizarre looking in their day in the early 1900's! TFTC.

I found it! 12 May 2006    RAPID ART  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Woohoo! First to find this cache in over 2 years! (Sorry, couldn't resist). I had a great hike, and hid a VERY alternative geocache down there. I forgot to mention in my GC.com log, I heard a boat as I was inspecting the cache contents. Thought for sure it was the tourist rapid shooting jetboat, but it was a 20 foot or so pleasure craft! Is it me, or are those people crazy for being in that section of the river? Anyways, the cache was a surprisingly easy find, with surprisinlgy good gps coverage down there. Took a screwdriver bit set, and gc.com travel bug, left poker chip set and WG$. Thanks Mom's.

I found it! 30 Apr 2006    Good Things  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Well, if I'm always going to be whining about lame micros, I guess I'd better put my money where my mouth is, and find stuff like this! I don't think you can park closer, and I had a nearly one mile hike (edit, that's round trip I mean), to a section of the park I had no idea existed. Nice hike, not too smushy. Just goes to show you what a great winter and spring we had, this thing would be unreachable in a normal spring around here :-). TNLN, thanks for placing the cache, GOF.

Note 30 Apr 2006    A Little Bit Further - FTF cache-n-bug  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Rayman, you'd better hurry up and come get this thing, before I grab it and take it to the Southtowns. I have 2 cool spots picked out. Oh, choices, choices.

I found it! 29 Apr 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series #3: Heath House  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Can you believe I forgot to log this here on Navicache right away, and miss a chance to comment about Edna getting a boost from CC? Actually I'd rather have no comment, although I could see some people needing a boost :-). Thanks for the cache and clue. Hopefully I'll run into searching seniors on the trail too someday, although the seem to only seek Navicache listed caches.

I found it! 23 Apr 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series #1: Martin House Complex  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Crud!! I forgot to look for a paper log entry from "searching seniors" which was never posted to Geocaching.com. I know it's someone's sock puppet account, because NO ONE IS NAMED EDNA!!! Not even any seniors that are still alive :-). But I enjoyed seeing the house (pretty sure it's the first time I ever even did a drive by), and finding the cache. TFTC Rayman.

I found it! 22 Apr 2006    Frank Lloyd Wright Series #2: Larkin Building  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This one took me a few minutes to find, but nothing too crazy. Got the clue, and moving on. Thanks, Rayman.

I found it! 15 Apr 2006    Mendon Ponds Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I'd actually found an urban micro in Buffalo the day prior, but I'm logging this classic cache first to be my 100th milestone on Navicache. I could just say the same thing Skeeter123 said in his Navicache log for this cache, but here's my GC.com log cut and pasted:

Wow, whatta trip. It wasn't nice and easy for me, like the other finder on this date. I did the Bathing with the devil earthcache first, and since the arrow was pointing straight ahead from down there, off we went. Only to find 150 feet from the cache we had to scale a hill, and then, once on top, go most of the way down another. But there's no way in hell I was leaving Mendon Ponds without this old school hide, who's waypoint converts to the 1,577th cache in the world. I grabbed a couple of happy meal toys for Urkel Jr. (who waited at the top fo the hill), left a brand new 2-pack of AA Duracell's. Then of course I never marked the car. Not that I would have gotten crazy lost in the park, but I did end up going back into the bathtub, and up and down again to the parking area, when I could have just skirted the 100 acre pond. Thanks so much for the old school hide, which is definately one to remember for us.

I found it! 15 Apr 2006    Bathing with the Devil Earthcache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

I found this very interesting Chilehead, thanks for the earthcache. As explained in my GC.com log, I had to take Urkel Jr's. picture at the site though, because taking my picture proved to daunting of a task for him :-).

  cameraTWU Jr. at the bathtub

I found it! 15 Apr 2006    Welcome to Depew!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I'm actually logging this a day late so the old school Mendon Ponds cache by Gimpy (1,577th cache in the world) could be my milestone 100th Navicache find. Not that this is a bad urban micro HB, it's on public property (rare), and I think you could even bump up the difficulty 1/2 star. Thanks for the cache, which I found while out with BarbershopDru.

Note 11 Apr 2006    Winter All Year Round  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

That was a joke SB2. We don't have little interactive smiley faces to post on this website. I guess I could do this though :-). Just don't tell Kaiser I'm on to him as being Rommel LMAO.

I found it! 10 Apr 2006    Winter All Year Round  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hey, you two guys sure Rommel, Desert Fox OOOOOOOOPS I mean Kaiser, won't get mad over placing caches on his turf? Yep, I know this place well, many times I was there during my illustrious playing career. And I disagree, it's part of the park, not outside of it. Parked the Urkelmobile, and made the 17 foot trek to GZ, recovered quickly while in stealth mode. Thanks to HB and SB2.

I found it! 07 Apr 2006    Dissendium  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Hmm. The parking directions seem to be different here at Navicache. Good thing, because thats where I parked! It involves going through a swamp right now, but it seemed like the least intrusive area in the neighborhood :-). This was a great area, loved exploring it, and finding the multi, both legs of which were easily found. TNLN, thanks for the cache.

I found it! 07 Apr 2006    Devil's Snare  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

Parked a little further at the water tower, but it's only .35 miles to the cache. Had a great time on this one, bushwacking through a swamp (at least it is one in the spring). It doesn't get any better than that. TNLN, thanks for the cache.

I found it! 26 Mar 2006    Confundus  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

A lotta logs over here, and a lotta love. So the puzzle is interesting, Tried for about 15 minutes the first time, and I wasn't even close. Then the 2nd time, I re-started from scratch, and had it in about 4 minutes flat. Knew as soon as I found a little parking area near the cache, I couldn't have possibly screwed it up. Yepper, bushwacking will definately suck in the summer, but it's not like you don't warn people. There's actually a somewhat easy route to the cache, but picking it on your way in is pretty unlikely ;-). I left a WG$, took a pink golfball, which will be pretty funny if I ever get out golfing again (this geocaching thing prevents that from happening). Thanks for the cache Gryffindor, fine job.

I found it! 26 Mar 2006    Island Madness  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Well, now I know where (at least according to geocaching.com) the 14228 zip code is centered. Apparently 345 feet from this island. A couple of muggles on the island, so I had to give up and leave. Even though they showed no signs of budging, I drove around the LONG block, and sure enough, they had finally moved on. Turns out I could have [b]never[/b] retrieved the cache while they were there. Thanks for the cache Madmann. [edit] Oops, I mean Cache cow :-)

Note 26 Mar 2006    Scajaquada Creek #2 AKA The Gator and the Rat  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2.5 )

Wow, eight Navicache finds, not bad. I was convinced this thing was a goner with no geocaching.com finds in 2.5 months, but it was still there, just tampered with slightly, still in the original spot, but uncovered. Moved about 15 feet, upgrading coords. Not much of a move, but feel free to log the re-find if you're in the neighborhood sometime.

Note 26 Mar 2006    Old Railroad Station Virtual  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Eh, I'm killing this thing. No one is finding it, despite there being a geocaching.com cache on the property, albeit a lamo vacation cache placed by an out of towner. It was an OK virtual, but nothing special. Time to say buh-bye.

I found it! 19 Mar 2006    Mahjong  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This thing's so easy, that it's hard :-). As I said on the other website, great professional job on the container, HB. Walked right up to this thing, coords settled to under 10 feet. TNLNSL, Thanks for another puzzle cache.

I found it! 19 Mar 2006    Cache Catharsis  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

And this would be different from most of your cache placements in what way? (Thank you, thank you very much). I got a log via email yesterday for my old cache archived a year ago, so I had to go out and see what all the fuss was about. And thanks for reminding the whole world I myself once hid a lame cache, knucklehead.

Note 12 Mar 2006    A Little Bit Further - FTF cache-n-bug  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Uh, I guess we should have talked to each other, Madmann :-). I just hid a moving navicache, probably posted to the website within an hour of yours on Sunday, 12 March! Oh well, mine is more of a full-sized cache, so I don't see any real problems here.

Note 12 Mar 2006    Buffalo-Niagara Moving Cache (Navicache only)  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 4 )

Ooops! As soon as this hide was listed, it looks like Madmann hid another area moving cache just hours before mine. DOH!!!!

After thinking about it for a few minutes, I'm going to probably leave this as a permanent cache, and archive this listing. SO DO NOT MOVE THIS CACHE AT THIS TIME. ONLY LOG AS A FIND, AND REPLACE (And be careful, for pete's sake).

Anyways, here's my original hide note:
Hidden on 12 March 2006, in the Town of Lockport, along well defined trails on undeveloped town land. Park at N 43 07.994 W 078 43.476, Cache hidden at N 43 08.169 W 078 43.353 Difficulty 2, Terrain 4. And I mean it!!! Best approach is from the top, from "behind" the cache, as you are approaching from the parking coords. Do not attempt if you have any reservations about the location. Remember to hug a tree!

I found it! 12 Mar 2006    Wingardium Leviosa  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Was shocked to FTF this, a full 12 hours after listing on geocaching.com; but FTF it I did. Ended up on the wrong side of an obstacle at first, but found my way over. This is a great hide, Gryff, thanks for the cache. Took a small pepsi pen (great for micros or small caches), left a carabiner.

Note 12 Mar 2006    A Little Bit Further - FTF cache-n-bug  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Nah, your's was listed first, I "retired" mine and made it a permanent Navicache. I think the location is great anyways. So someone go out and find THIS cache already!

I found it! 05 Mar 2006      ( Difficulty:     Terrain:  )

I used to frequent Lockport in the early to mid-90's, and saw this place, but never paid much attention to it. Now I know. Yepper, spooky, and so is that graveyard down the street. Not my greatest photograpy on a very bright day, but good enough I guess. Thanks for the virtual and the Waymark.

I found it! 05 Mar 2006    NCMPF  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Yippie! FTF! Hey, I'll take anything I can get these days. I was actually with another prominent Navicacher most of the day, but we seperated, and he didn't have a camera anyways. So I found this on a bright, sunny winters day, as you can tell from my pic. I figured the area would be getting some use, but nothing, nor was there a few hours later when I passed again. Actually, I personally have never seen it in use, but will definately check it out if I ever do. Took pic of the back of "the board". Good thing too, I didn't see any phone number :-). Thanks for the virtual Navicache.

Note 01 Mar 2006    Letchworth Fall Gathering V  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I will as always, TRY to be there, although I haven't made it to one yet :-( I'll post a note on my verified status much closer to the date.

I found it! 26 Feb 2006    JEOPARDY!!!! ***NAVICACHE ONLY****  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This was good HB, I had fun. The cache itself took longer than I thought, I was made nervous by the first ever posted DNF on it a few days prior over at geocaching.com :-). I left a WG$, and took a tape measure that I put to good use later in the day when I finally stopped caching, and did some of that work around the house Mrs. Urkel has been screaming about. Thanks for the cache and your continued efforts.

I found it! 25 Feb 2006    Second Choice  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Since it's night cache friendly, I very well might have tried to beat CC to the punch, but I didn't see it until the 2nd day. A very interesting area, with lot's of blowdown. Left an aluminum bottle opener took a new Where's George dollar. A very good 2nd choice; I'll be going for the 2 Lockport virtuals sometime in the relatively near future :-). TFTC

I found it! 24 Feb 2006    4 8 15 16 23 42  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Ran into Madmann and Dayo, part of the mad (pun intended) first day dash to this one. Found the answers easily, though I'd barely heard of the show, let alone watched it. Shoot, you mean there are shows on T.V. that don't involve forensic science? Who would have known. I TNLN, beat feet out of there as I was on lunch hour. Thanks for another puzzle cache, HB. We can't POSSIBLY squeeze another one into this place, can we?

I found it! 12 Feb 2006    Steve's Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Hmm. And I don't recognize the name of the first Navicache logger, seeing as he has no finds on the website, and posted a note, not a find. Wheelygood, is that you? Best of luck to Steve from The Lyndon Road Gang, get better soon, and do some cachin'.

I couldn 12 Feb 2006    Cache Catharsis  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Yep, per Gryffindor's DNF (which isn't posted here), I don't think it's there. But I just checked the area, didn't actually have the coords.

I found it! 11 Feb 2006    Gateway Micro (Navicache Only)  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1 )

Crud! Not even a Navicache FTF. That honor goes to THE OUTDOOR KINGPIN. I must no have missed him by much, (I was there about 12:20 PM) because there were footprints near the hide. But those footprints were not a factor in me finding this excellent micro hide. I like the attachment method too, I think it will last. Thanks Ms.Mom.

I found it! 10 Feb 2006    Lockport After Dark  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 4 )

I just remembered this was listed here. Why is this the only of 20+ StickMonkey hides listed here? And what the hell happened to Mr. Z? These questions need to be answered. I found this with Rayman77, and had a blast. TNLN, thanks StickMonkey.

Note 31 Jan 2006    Fairmount Park  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Forgot to say on this website that the 3rd leg is quite inaccessable right not (and has been for over a week) due to all the flooding in the park. Should be OK soon.

I couldn 29 Jan 2006    McNaughton Field  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1 )

Bummer man. Drove 10 miles one way in the pouring rain for a rare FTF oppourtunity, and came up empty handed. Even bothered Rayman at home to check for a hint on the cache page when I found nothing at my zero. Checked some other spots in the pouring rain and muck, but nothing.

I found it! 29 Jan 2006    McNaughton Field  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1 )

OK, I had to do some grocery shopping anyways, so why not drive to Cheektowaga to do it? So in true Dayo like fashion, I drove 40 miles round trip for an FTF :-). This was only after verifying with HB that I was in the right spot, and confirming my suspicions on the size of the container. So a rare FTF on this date at 3:30 PM. Thanks HB, good job, and the coords are so dead-on it's not even funny.

Note 26 Jan 2006    Singing Birds  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Geez, I didn't realize Mick was the only one who ever logged here :-). So anyways, as of this date TEMPORARILY DISABLED. Park closed; lots of nice wooden bridges being built in the park. If not re-opened by 15 March 2006, cache will be pulled and archived (was going to be around Memorial Day 2006 anyways).

I found it! 17 Jan 2006    Welcome to Tonawanda  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Woohoo! First to log, kids! Thanks for the cache, Rayman. Interesting City you have there.

I found it! 10 Jan 2006    Kelly Park Micro  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I used to work in the neighborhood almost 20 years ago. Someone needs to put the Garden Village Plaza out of it's misery, pronto. I saw CC's log, and figured I'd better glance at the hint. I too found coords 43 ft. off, took a waypoint, but I'll post it at the other site. I think I know what the container is, but it was probably rather expensive! Thanks for the cache HB.

I found it! 30 Dec 2005    ERIE'S END  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Found the first leg a few days earlier, and finished today. Was thwarted by muggles at the 2nd leg. There's always going to be muggles there, but it was punks the first time. So I just went for it today knowing I'd just have to explain geocaching to someone yet again :-). Great cache Mom's, I TNLN, thanks.

I found it! 30 Dec 2005    The Letterbox of Losson Park  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Great coords HB! Found no problem, forgot my stamp, so just signed the log. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 27 Dec 2005    Cache Jubilee  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

This was a great location! Found without too much difficulty, although the briar's kicked my butt! I TNLN, thanks for the cache.

I found it! 27 Dec 2005    Once Every Four Years  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I've known of this interesting puzzle cache for quite some time, but finally got around to solving a few weeks ago, and made it out to find it today. TNLN (but removed some geotrash) thanks for the cache.

I found it! 27 Dec 2005    Casey's "The Steve Irwin Experience" Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Is it just me, or does this old school Navicache hide have different adoptive owners on this website and geocaching.com?? Oh well, found quite easily in the winter, took a TB from the geocaching.com side, removed some geotrash from the cache. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 26 Dec 2005    Lake Erie Virtual  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Huckle and Mick, you guys are both killing me here :-). The coords at the top of the page are much closer than the errant waymarking.com coords, but they take you to the Army Corps of Engineers parking lot on Niagara Street, not even on squaw island. (See lostoutdoors.com aerial photo, or mapquest.com map link on this cache page). So here's what I did. I went to Squaw Island, walked out on the breakwall about 3/8 of a mile. This gives you the Peace Bridge in the foreground, with Lake Erie in the background. Coords I went to were N 42 54.529 W 078 54.153. Averaged, and with no obstructions, I'm sure they're dead nuts on. I'd highly suggest these become the coords for this Earthcache/virtual. Thanks for the virtual Huckle, sorry you missed the deadline before the head Earthcache guy moved them all to waymarking :-(.

I found it! 27 Nov 2005    Peacefull Woods  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was quite an adventure, despite being found the day before on the geocaching.com side, with footprints in the snow. Well, the footprints didn't help! I was all over the place. I had been to this park almost 2 years ago to grab the three existing (at the time) caches, and I don't remember it being such a gps black hole. Oh well, thanks for bringing me back, MickEMT. TNLN.

Note 27 Nov 2005    Red Falls View  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

Just about everything I typed in my original log (mostly about it being Navicache only) is no longer valid, so I started over. As CC said, the puzzle is pretty easy, but I still found myself checking my work about 5 times, so good job there HB. The coords did initially take me to another spot with potential, but then I searched around the area for a min. or two and found it. I believe my GPS was reading about 30 feet at the cache. I took a TB on the geocaching.com side, left a compass keychain, and there was no writing utensil in the cache!

I found it! 06 Nov 2005    Cheektowaga Town Park  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Wow. Fifth to find on Navicache, a week after placement. The Buffalo News article did wonders for the website! Thanks as always for listing them here, HB, helping me to be the no. 1 Navicache finder in WNY (Hey, it's not about the numbers, right?) Short nice multi, along the shores of my creek :-). Thanks.

I found it! 06 Nov 2005    The Season Series:AUTUMN  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Don't bother going in, Rayman. More girly stuff than mens, and overpriced small kitchen appliances :-). I'm a Target man myself. So yeah, like others I found it about 30 ft. off the coords hidden in a fashion that doesn't match the hint. Hey, HB, when you see this log, you need to kill the nearby Micro King on this website. If you have any questions about how to do it, drop me a line. Looking forward to the rest of the series, TNLN, thanks.

I found it! 24 Oct 2005    My Cache Get's No Respect!  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Eeeyup. Found it. Even though I knew where to look :-) Log was kinda damp, but I think I know why that was. TNLN, TFTC.

Note 13 Oct 2005    Lumberjack's Haven  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hello there Mrs.Mom!! This still shows as an active cache with your old friends from Navicache :0) And believe it or not, there are a bunch of newbies poking around there after seeing the Buffalo News Article. Just choose "edit cache" at the top of the page, and "retire" it right below your username and password. Have fun at Letchworth!

I found it! 09 Oct 2005    Under The Sea...  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Some nasty bushwacking at parts two and three, but no one ever said this geocaching thing was a walk in the park! Terrain rating definately right on the money! I TNLN, thanks, HB.

Note 01 Oct 2005    Tillman Road No. 3 (Navicache only hide!!)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Maintenance visit. I changed the name of the cache a couple of days ago, hoping the (Navicache only hide!!) would draw attention to it. I dragged Rayman77 to the cache today. It's been found by three people who never logged online. One who said they came "all the way from Baghdad" to find the cache in April (left no name of any kind), ColoradoRed on June 13, and a couple who left their real names on September 11th. We found the cache totally exposed, but I'm sure it's a critter. I doubt any non-geocachers would ever find it anyways. Despite the low traffic, there is a faint geocachers trail leading to the area (It was a winter hide, and there is about 30 ft. of bushwacking involved).

Naw, can't make it, please take me off the list. I guess I'll just have to look forward to Fall Gathering V. I won't post to that other website, since I never posted there in the first place. I'm sure all will have a great time.

I found it! 27 Sept 2005    Eastern Park  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Drat, not even a first to log on Navicache. My GPS had me all over Eastern Park, for whatever reason. But I finally made it to the correct area, and made the find relatively easily. Thanks for the cache Rayman, this park definately needed one :-)

I found it! 20 Sept 2005    Houghton-Stachowski Park  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

I had a few min. after work, so I took a roundabout way home for this one. A very nice camo job, I like it. I found the log slightly damp, but it's holding up pretty good. Thanks HB.

Note 16 Sept 2005    Fairmount Park  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Stopped by to edit the cache description. Welcome to the dark side, Bigwheel. WHERE THE HECK IS YOUR FIND LOG? BTW, I am your father.

Note 11 Sept 2005    Buffalo's Amazing Disappearing Creek  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Once again first leg is missing. I think some transients who have taken up residency in the cemetery are messing with the cache. Should be up again towards the end of September, changing the first leg to virtual type questions.

Note 16 Aug 2005    Buffalo's Amazing Disappearing Creek  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

First leg missing again, cache should be up again by 21 August.

Note 16 Aug 2005    Oppenheim Zoo  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Cache is missing, should be back up by 21 August.

I found it! 07 Aug 2005    Natures Bonus  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Whoops, forgot to log this little sucker on Navicache. Found it finally on 7 August. Thanks for the bonus, Mickemt.

FTF, as a virtual on Navicache, that is. I had the wife and kids along, and they were ribbing me that they thought "The Burning Town" was lame. But I don't think it's lame, amazing story, and the town was amazing to see. Thanks Mick.

I found it! 23 Jul 2005    Swift Running Water  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Probably a nice walk, but I drove between all the legs (too much beer last night). Challenging hides, great job. Considering the muggle dodging I had to do at 6-7:00 AM, I can appreciate what some others may have gone through! I finally snagged my first Subman TB, and I left a mini carabiner. Thanks for the cache, Rayman.

I found it! 23 Jul 2005    Milestone Multi  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

I used the milestone multi as my own milestone, No. 400 on another geocaching website. But here, it's just another run of the mill find. Not really run of the mill, a nice multi in Brush country. Found on a group hunt with Rayman, Rocket Pack, and Team Dakota. Thanks Mick.

I couldn 23 Jul 2005    Natures Bonus  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

No find for a party of six cachers! But I'm typing this a day late, and apparently the failure of our large party (and several DNF's prior) motivated a couple of cachers to go out and snag this thing the next day. Hey, give our party a break, it was pretty much dark out :-)

Note 18 Jul 2005    Downtown Statue Tour  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Well, I guess it is really worth putting out Navicache only virtuals, as Exit Mundi is the 6th finder of this cache in slighty over a year. (At least in Buffalo or Rochester, it's worth it). Yeah, I'm sure the coords are off, being downtown with all the tall buildings. I also note the same in my Downtown "Shutterspots" on GPSgames.org. Thanks to all who have visited.

I found it! 09 Jul 2005    Now Playing At a Cache Near You...  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Darn that Cayuga Crew, I can't even get a first to log on Navicache. That's OK, pretty soon he'll have to be going to St. Catherines or Rochester to find caches :-) I noted when going to the cache description on gc.com that HuckleBuckle fixed my paper log here. Thanks!

I found it! 09 Jul 2005    That Wacky Palindrome Cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

What's up with all those double find logs at the bottom of the page? Must be a glitch. I think I parked in the wrong spot, a parking lot with a bunch of 18 wheeler Wal-Mart Trucks. I went with "Trash Tim Smith's Art". Thanks HB.

Note 26 Jun 2005    Police Memorial  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The cache is obviously in Downtown Buffalo. The maps and location (near Burt, N.Y.) are due to me submitting it as N43 deg. as opposed to N42 deg. DOH!!! I'm sure the powers that be at Navicache will be fixing this soon.

Note 25 Jun 2005    Clinton Park Micro  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Mooohahahahaha! Another day, another FTF. I logged into Navicache to submit a Downtown Buffalo Virtual that I threw together during downtime at the 2005 Gus Macker tourney, and what do I see but Rayman77's first cache! Well, screw that, the virtual submission can wait; I was out the door 20 seconds later. Nice first hide, should be safe from muggling, coords are so dead nuts on, it's not even funny. Thanks for the cache.

Note 14 Jun 2005    Chac's Revenge  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 2 )

I don't want to give too much away, but there is a very small public parking area nearby a much more noticable parking area that is posted. Of course you could just tell law enforcement that Chac commanded you to park there. I'm sure Rayman enjoyed his walk, and blood donation, though.

Note 14 Jun 2005    Buffalo's Amazing Disappearing Creek  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Checked on the final over the weekend. No problem at all there. But the Cememetery was closed, so I'm going to have to go back next weekend to check on the first. [EDIT] Yes, first leg was missing. Never a muggle problem, had to be a critter, which was reported in the past. The 1st leg is now a waterproof matchbox container, identical to the final, just hidden in a different fashion.

I found it! 05 Jun 2005    Gotta Go?! I 390 Northbound  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Our Woods? What is up with Northbound being listed on Navicache, but NOT Southbound? I mean I know no one logs here anymore, but think about where it all started ;-) Ok, so I found this one on my way back from Scranton, found southbound on the way TOO Scranton the day before. Thanks for placing them.

I found it! 04 Jun 2005    It's HUGE!  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

This was an excellent virtual, whose answers couldn't possibly be answered by anyone who wasn't there. Maybe if that other website had scrutinized the thousands of lame virts submitted in 2002 and earlier, they wouldn't have had to ban them! I sent my answers to MickEMT, and will upload my pics if they turn out. Thanks for the cache Mick. [EDIT] Woohoo! They turned out, always hit and miss with my $70 digital camera. Enjoy

Found it on my 4th attempt (with proper footware). Hey, at least I alway log my DNF's (or almost always). I'm sure there's no one whose just seeing this cache listed here, but I'll be removing for SB2 on Sunday May 14th late in the day. Still time to find. I may be able to help him relocate nearby, but I'm sure it will turn up elsewhere no matter what.

I couldn 07 May 2005    Woodchip Trail Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Since approval on geocaching.com is taking a while (I suspect the local Admin's infatuation with removed railroad tracks that show up on 30 year old topo maps), I've been able to take 2 cracks at this thing; the first one in the dark with a flashlight (not a prayer), the second in broad daylight, for about 1/2 an hour. No clue where the first leg is at this point. I'll be baaaaaack.

I found it! 07 May 2005    I-90 Overlook Micro  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

A good hide, but seeing as so many people were having difficulty on the other website, I was able to determine it was something unusual, and find it very quickly.

Naw Yardboy, White Kong doesn't hate on anyone! As a matter of fact, I have an idea for a Navicache in your honor that I hope to place this summer! As far as the list, you can make it simple by just looking at caches that were not placed by Yourself, Caron, Quinn or the D&C newspaper reporter.

Note 23 Apr 2005    Spawn of Multiplicity # 5  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

No offense Yardboy, but since the last time you were in town, I think you missed about 100+ caches "double listed" by the likes of Junglehair, Ourwoods, Chilehead and Chemist Kahuna etc.... Unless you just particulary hate this listing because it contains a hyperlink to a geocaching.com cache?

Note 19 Apr 2005    Road to nowhere  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

There were a few casual Navicahe loggers who never got around to logging it here, Exit M. Don't worry though, the ranks are growing! A moot point on this one, since I've removed and retired it as of 17 April 2005.

Note 18 Apr 2005    Jonah Williams AKA The Millrace Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Give me a break Mick, it was dark out! Wait a minute, I don't think that excuse is going to fly. Anyways, I have made an email appeal the the Admin for an exception to the 528 ft. rule. Seeing as it's close to an Earthcache, which is not approved by geocaching.com, *AND* the fact that the appeal was made by the Earthcache owner, I think theres a good chance. Stay tuned.

I found it! 16 Apr 2005    Dann Rd #2 AKA First Son of Multiplicity  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Yippee! My milestone no. 50 find on Navicache. Which is pretty freaking impressive, if I don't say so myself, seeing as I don't live in Germany. No accolades though, please. TNLNSL, thanks, Mick.

I found it! 16 Apr 2005    Jonah Williams AKA The Millrace Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

With the Urkel household full of annoying 10 yr. old girls at a slumber party, who could ask for a better excuse to get out of the house and go night caching? So I found this thing without too much difficulty, coords seemed pretty good. The cache is Jam Packed full of way too much good stuff, that will be traded for used happy meal toys. That is *IF* it gets listed on geocaching.com, due to the proximity to the earthcache. I will personally email the admin, should you have any problems there. I took a TB that I figured I should get out of there, assuming it doesn't get listed. Other than that, TNLN. Grabbed a few rocks (they're very plentiful in the area) and hid a little better. Very good job, Exit M., thanks for the cache.

I found it! 09 Apr 2005    Railroad for History  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

I Found all parts without too much difficulty. Big time Muggle alert for a summer like Saturday afternoon in April though. The final, I was about to leave and come back at night, but then I spotted it, and decided I could log it undetected. The so-called "Mad Medic" must have punched a number in wrong, I found the final coords to be deadly accurate. Thanks for the cache Exit M., fine job.

Hmm. and the number of regular Navicache loggers who haven't found this cache continues to dwindle.. A leg of the bankers cache? For the small fee of $20, I'll make sure I don't slip and tell the gc.com admin about it! And I'd even through in pirating an offensive cache in Scranton.

Almost forgot this was listed on Navicache! Very proud to be the first Navicache finder since 2001!!! I have already logged and the other site, and sent my pic to ESFKids Thanks for the webcam cache, and also for being one of the early pioneers of local caching, and listing your caches here.

I found it! 19 Mar 2005    Over The River, And Through The Woods...  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Logging this almost two months later, but I remember it well; I was out with BarbershopDru after finding Lucky Seven. I also remember walking right up to it, and having to wait like 10 minutes for her to find it!! (She'll never see this log Moohahahaha!) Thanks for the cache, which was a cookie tin when I found it, looks like it's been upgraded compliments of Brogan.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Creekside II  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

As one of the small handful of finders of the original Creekside, this was a logical first choice on my way to Rochester. Parked in the same spot as I did 1.5 years ago, and made the trek, out with SF1. I took the Obi Wan Travel bug from the gc.com side, left nothing. Thanks for placing the replacement cache.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Urkel and Strikeforce1 are on the loose, the first to remove this navicache from it's tomb in 1.5 years!! And believe me, this sucker was frozen in; I broke two tree branches trying to free it, before SF1 came to the rescue with the special heavy duty tree limb. I also need to thank him for giving me some of the 2+ year old Tic-Tacs that were in the cache. They tasted rather funky, but I'm still OK, at least as of the time I'm typing this log. The cache was in fine shape, bone dry inside. I TNLN, thanks for the cache.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Ghost's Domain  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

So nice to find the old historic caches! I looked up the old archived listing on gc.com, and if my hexidecimal to decimal conversion is correct, this is cache number 589 in the world. Pretty impressive, as there are over 147,000 as of this date. There are TONS of entries in the paper log, I'm guessing many people have found this cache during the two events staged 500 ft. away, and never joined navicache.com Oh well, their loss. This cache was loaded with some decent trade items, but I TNLN. Thanks for the cache, which is quite the hike in the winter.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Long Swim to Canada  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Yippeee, first to find on Navicache! Myself and SF1 found this without too much difficulty. Yes, a much longer swim then you would have from further west, in our neck of the woods. TNLN Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Second time's a charm??  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

This one took a little while in the snow. Sounds like a very wet and mosquito laden area though, good thing we went when we did! Cache seriously traded down by knuckleheads on that other website. Only 1 DVD, and a bunch of garbage in the huge box. Don't necessarily blame any of the loggers over there though, as there are many people out there who never log their finds online. Thanks for the cache!

Note 05 Mar 2005    Buffalo's Amazing Disappearing Creek  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Since I've clued a few people into the fact that this "members only" cache on geocaching.com is available for free here on Navicache, I should say that there is quite the conversation going on over there; this was found by two people the day after placement, but then we got socked with a foot of snow. At least 4 people have come up empty handed since. The cache is off the ground, but in an area prone to snow build up. I'd hold off until some snow melt, which you would think would be soon with it being almost Spring and all.

I found it! 21 Feb 2005    Gradma's Cookies  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Logging this the day I saw a few Exit Mundie placements show up on this website. I was first finder of this one on another prominent geocaching website. Going out the night it was listed in the middle of winter with a flashlight helps. I don't remember what I left, but a took a "seed" micro cache container that later became the first leg of Buffalo's Amazing Disappearing Creek, not too far from this one. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 13 Feb 2005    Jerry's Micro Multi  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1 )

Hey Mick, I never noticed all those Olmsted caches in Delaware Park were still listed on Navicache. They're long gone, we should see if they will remove them. Just cutting and pasting the log from the other website here:
Was in the neighborhood with a little time to kill, so I called Strikeforce1 to get the coords for this, which I didn't have with me. I was on the phone with him for the entire time (which is actually a good diversionary tactic when you're walking around acting like a weirdo). He refused to give me any of the hints (even though I had viewed the page before, and knew there were some). Also, he taunted me throughout my caching experience, which I know took approximately 33 minutes, the time of the phone call. Good job Mick and Bumble, thanks for the cache.

Note 13 Feb 2005    Tillman Road No. 3 (Navicache only hide!!)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Congrats to the first finders!!! Did you tie a yellow ribbon around it, so I can re-find it myself for future maintenace visits?? This cache MAY end up only being listed on this website, and gpsgames.org, depending on how pissed off I get....

I found it! 21 Jan 2005    Distance Caching 101  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Whew! That was fun. If being frustrated to the point of wanting to pull my hair out on several occasions is fun! Did entirely online, found a spoiler in an old log that helped me when I was stuck at one step. I didn't think the last part, where several people reported having emailed the school, was that hard to find online; the most difficulty I had on that one was distinguishing the first name from the surname! Thanks for a nice winter cache, Scout. I'd really like to see more of this type.

I found it! 15 Jan 2005    Clarence Multi-View Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 2 )

Logging your find from before adopting? You can't do that!!!! (Just kidding, of course you can). I'll just cut and paste the log from the other website: I guess you can call me lucky Urkel today. The middle leg, which is pretty much a needle in a haystack hide, I found in about 10 seconds. And then I got lucky and solved the puzzle on the first try; the solution seemed logical, got to GZ, and there was the cache. Luck combined with reading some of the other logs about driving between legs, I finished in about 40 minutes. I know I'll probably blow it on the next 1/1 I try though. Thanks to the retired Skeeterbait, for placing the cache, and it's adoptive owner, aspiring Geo-Dashing champion MickEMT.

I found it! 09 Jan 2005    FISH'S SPAWN  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Finally got a chance to take the 3.7 mile round trip to this one with Mrs. Urkel and Urkelette tied up at an annoying baby shower. I'm thinking my previous longest trek for a smiley was 2.6 miles near Scranton, Pa., but of course that involved a 800 ft. elevation gain. Speaking of smiley's, if the cache owner doesn't start logging his, I'm going to pass him pretty damn soon here So I got near the cache, only to hear gunshots nearby What's up with that? Turned out to be a couple of knuckleheads duck hunting, just off the little Island a couple of hundred feet from the cache. Most likely very illegal, but who's going to catch them? Not much of a challenge either, as the ducks were all just sitting in the water. Needless to say, I grabbed the cache, which is an easy find as advertised, quickly signed the log, TNLN, and beat feet out of there. Couldn't find the BM Varsgeld mentioned in the snow, so I grabbed the navigation light at the end of the breakwall. Thanks Mr. Mom, great job.

I found it! 02 Jan 2005    Braden's Skateboard Rocks  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Found with the adoptive cache owner on this date, while he, myself and SF1 changed out the ruined cache, which was a plastic shoebox at the time. I'd actually found it before then, but had never logged as a find because even back then, *I* was hoping to adopt it!! The moral of the story is, you can't just drop a cache in the woods, and never visit it again :-).

I found it! 02 Jan 2005    Jack In The Box  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Back dating log. Found with the adoptive owner, as a matter of fact, on this date. I remember we were in search of a coveted geocaching.com yellow jeep. Are they ever going to do that again? Doesn't matter, people just hoard them anyways :-)

I found it! 29 Dec 2004    Darien Diversion  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Was a pretty short hike, even in the winter, with the campground area closed off. I like the way it's labled only as a NAVICACHE, and nothing else. You'd think some of the 100+ finders on the "other site" would get the hint. I took a pair of scissors, left a WG$. Thanks Gimpy.

I found it! 12 Dec 2004    Green Acres  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Woohoo, FTF on Navicache! Tried to hurdle the ditch, which was rather full from all the rain and snow we've had this weekend. Did not make it; it wasn't pretty. I missed the Smiley Gang, who were there before me today. Thanks MickEMT.

Note 27 Nov 2004    Nature View Park #5 AKA These pretzels are making me thirsty!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Stopped by the cache page to get a Kosmo Kramer background sound clip up and running. Yes Skeeterbait2, congrats for finding a way to log this one. This cache is members only on that other geocaching website, but is available for the whole world to see here, free of charge!

Note 26 Nov 2004    Transportation  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Strange. Did a drive by on my easy drive by virtual today, and two of the three items are missing! This was a garage that has been open and closed by various owners over the years, and there was a minature race car on the roof, and a Pepsi-Cola bottle cap on the building. Obviously, both collectors items, so some new owner must have removed them. I can remember the race car being there AT LEAST 35 years, probably longer. Congrats to TirolBill for being the first and only finder!! Cache is being retired, but I have an idea for another easy virtual nearby that will hopefully be placed very soon.

I found it! 15 Nov 2004    Rt. 990 Luxury Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

MOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Urkel Strikes again on Navicache. And got the FTF this time!
A couple of weird things on this cache:
A) I had often considered placing a cache in that location, but never got around to it.
B) I received a call on my cellphone from SF1 the day the cache was placed, and pulled over not more than 25 ft. from it to talk. Don't know if it was active then though.
A pretty good micro hide, took a few minutes. Thanks for placing the cache, MickEMT.

Note 14 Nov 2004    Geez Louise!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Man, is anyone ever going to find this thing on this website? Maintenance visit today, found the second leg missing! I'm leaning towards some knucklehead moving it, as no one other than geocachers or white tail deer ever go in the swamp. DO NOT LOOK FOR THIS CACHE, UNTIL I FIX IT.

Note 13 Nov 2004    Keg Creek Georger!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Since this navicache hadn't been found in over a year, something told me to look at the spoiler pic, and use the hint. Myself and SF1 are 99% sure we had the right spot, but no cache there. We replaced with a film canister and 1 WG$ apiece, along with a sheet of paper, all jammed into a baggie. I'll await Quinn's word from the pics SF1 sent to see what happens.

I found it! 13 Nov 2004    Wilson - Tuscarora State Park NC#1  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Out with the cache owner, who was on a maintenance check. Found no problem. Took an Orange hunting vest, left a WG$.

I found it! 13 Nov 2004    Wilson - Tuscarora State Park NC#2  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Out with the cache owner, who was on a maintenance check. Found no problem, especially in the fall, with much of the tree cover gone. TNLNSL on this one.

2nd failed attempt at this one. I'm really going to have to lean towards this Navicache being missing. Much better GPS coverage on this visit with much of the tree cover gone, continually pointing me towards one location; but no cache to be found.

Note 29 Oct 2004    Dann Rd.'s 1st cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

My bad. I would like to thank the no. 23 Navicacher on Scouts Leaderboard for the on the spot correction ;-). I think it's funny as hell the way this cache showed up as being found 2 days ago, on the first day it was listed elsewhere.

I found it! 27 Oct 2004    Dann Rd.'s 1st cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

Well, just before heading out I saw Skeeterbait nailed the FTF, but out I went anyways. The more Navicache only finders before the other site even lists it, the better. Found at 7:30 PM with a flashlight with minimal difficulty. Thanks MickEMT. Skeeter, you posted a note, not a find.

I couldn 08 Oct 2004    My Cache Get's No Respect!  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice to see someone listing caches on this site. I couldn't find it though, I grew tired of being tarred and poked after about 15-20 min. of searching.

Note 13 Sept 2004    Amherst State Park Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I've posted many notes at the other website, but this cache DID in fact survive the 4+ inches of rain Amherst received from the remnants of hurricane Frances. The cache was completely submerged for a while, but all is well.

I couldn 24 Aug 2004    Buffalo Bill's Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Couldn't find this sucker. GPSr was jumping all around; there was an area that met the description sort of described by the last cacher, but it was too heavily choked with weeds to find a cache in there. I notice NO ONE has ever found this cache in the summer months, so I'll likely come back when the weeds have died off. The cache site is acessable year round, no need for a game to be going on. Despite the proximity to Navicache world HQ, you can count on one hand the number of people who actively log on Navicache in the area, so that would explain only 5 finds in over 2 years.

Note 24 Aug 2004    Letchworth Fall Gathering III  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Whoops. Spoke too soon. Good thing I procrastinated posting a note to the "other" website, because this is the date of my daughters annual league cheerleading competition, and I'll never be able to make the event. (I had hoped to bring her with me). So I guess I'll just have to enjoy those alcoholic beverages in moderation at home that evening. Have a good event!

Note 23 Aug 2004    Letchworth Fall Gathering III  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

It is looking really good for this to be my first ever event cache. I just couldn't pass up on an opportunity to consume alcoholic beverages in moderation. I'll sign up for something when the date gets closer, and I'm 100% sure I can attend.

I found it! 19 Aug 2004    A -=(Geo)=- Tribute Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

Hmm. First to find, yet last to find! "Found" the cache with the owner, Mr. Mom, Ms. BusyMom, and The Goo, and it was pulled by the owner afterwords, as a golf course is going in the park. Thanks SF1, I still have plenty more of yours to find, and I'm looking forward to seeing this one replaced.

Note 08 Aug 2004    Amherst State Park Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Excellent, 2 navicache only logs on the page. I paid a maintenance visit to the cache the other day, here's the log from the other website cut and pasted:
Maintenance visit to snatch the full camera. Pics will not be scanned, but will be put in a photo album in the cache. No camera currently in the cache. Although under it's original "main" piece of cover, and concealed, the cache was at least 7-10 ft. from where it was originally placed. Please take care to replace the container exactly *where* and *how* you found it. (Not necessarily aimed at any recent finders, whom I'm sure did just that). Cache is quite full, but there are few what I would consider "quality trades"; trading down a cache is just a fact of life, no rants here. Thanks to all who have visited, and the old pics and a new camera will be coming soon.

Note 24 Jul 2004    Willowridge Micro  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

OK, removed the geotrash, cache is going to be retired. Will be replace at some point with a little multi in the area. Thanks to all who found it.

I found it! 11 Jul 2004    Golden Hill Hiker's De-light  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

Great park, nice tour. As I approached the end cache, I thought it was rather odd there were signs of recent activity in the area, being that I would be the first finder in almost 6 months (even on the "other" website), but RobNHood himself was just there a couple of days ago on a maintenance run. There are a lot of nice items in the cache, but I quickly signed the log and ran out of there because a) I had shorts on (definately NOT recommended), and b) the bugs were eating me alive. I did however take care to re-hide the container as well or better than found. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 11 Jul 2004    Strange Birds  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

eeeyup. That was strange. Funny log there Wheelygood, you note poster you. I was in the neighborhood visiting an old chum from Lyndonville who is off to Iraq next week. He didn't really have much insight into the area, other than all the locals know about it, and partake in the tradition. I notice this cache is listed only on Navicache.com; I too have a virt listed only here, because that "other" website is denying just about every virtual reported these days, which is pretty freaking stupid; why don't they just archive the THOUSANDS of useless lamo virts existing, and allow quality new ones! Perfect example is the nearby "under the bridge" virt in Medina, which I not only easily guessed the answer to just from reading the description, I then LOOKED UP THE ANSWER ON THE INTERNET TO BOOT! Needless to say, I wouldn't lower myself to "doing" this virt, even though I was in the neighborhood. I've also done a lame virt in N.J (placed in 2001) that had absolutely no criteria for logging. What a joke. Thanks for the cache, BlackPete, and allowing me to rant!

I found it! 11 Jul 2004    30 Mile Point Lighthouse  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I found the lighthouse (kind of hard to miss), email sent to BlackPete. Very interesting structure. A very nice day, with tons of people (old fogey's picnic) at the lighthouse. I'm a notorious cheapskate who uses an $84 Garmin Gecko 101, and would NEVER pay to find a cache, so I parked for free at the recommended parking for the nearby cache Golden Hill Hikers delight. Thanks Black Pete.

I found it! 09 Jul 2004    Emery Easy Out  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hmm. That's an interesting story about Instant Cool Guy. I didn't notice it at the "other" website. It still took forever to get caches in this park though! Didn't realize I needed a compass for the 2 SF caches in the park, but got through this one with a cheapie little carabiner compass I had on me, and did the micro in the park not listed here. I'll likely save the other SF one for a time of the year when my GPS isn't reading +/- 1,000 ft. (it seemed that bad). Very muddy with this crappy summer we're having, but an excellent cache all around. I left a carabiner, took a sponge and CITO kit. Thanks Strikeforce_Sunset

I found it! 27 Jun 2004    Sons of Buffalo  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Hmm. Somehow I missed this was listed on Navicache. I know it's been archived, but Here's my old log from when it was active:
I've received permission to log from Anton. Found during down time at the annual Gus Macker outdoor basketball tourney, and I'm throwing together another downtown Buffalo virt while down there as well. Nice to see a tribute to the veterans of these little known campaigns so they'll never be forgotten. Of course when I typed that, I had NO IDEA that geocaching.com had a defacto ban on virtual caches. I've since listed my virt only here, and gpsgames.org

Note 13 Jun 2004    Amherst State Park Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

No, cache is still there, and is not near any areas that would be "mowed". I've offered assistance via email, welcome to geocaching.

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    Here a park, there a park  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

One of the few Scranton area caches listed on this side. Yep, first two legs clever and rather difficult, but found nonetheless. Had to come back for leg two early morning, there were just too many people around early evening. Took a non-where's george dollar, left a carabiner. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 02 May 2004    Dad's Old Schoolhouse  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

Interesting area. There was a gentleman selling flowers at the parking coords, so I had to buy some for Mrs. Urkel to divert attention from my intended activities. I did not trade, just logged my visit and replaced the container. I see the cache was placed pretty recently in late fall. I think it's going to get pretty ugly back there in the summer. Thanks for the cache.

I found it! 02 May 2004    Warning (I Shall Wear Purple)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Nice paint job on the box Junglehair, although I'll always be partial to Olive Drab. Found no problem, traded a purple carabiner in accordance with the theme, for an Old Maid card game. Thanks.

I found it! 02 May 2004    Highland Park Cache (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Last of the 3 Highland Park caches today. I have to say, I've driven by the park many times on South Ave. but the terrain I encountered was much more "rugged" than I expected. I'm guessing some of the hills are manmade though? Traded a carbiner for a travel toothbrush and paste. THERE WAS A METAL DETECTORIST IN THE AREA, he didn't see me or what I was doing, but he was still scouring about when I left. You may want to check on this cache soon. Thanks.

I found it! 18 Apr 2004    The Wheel  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Very quick find, since I'd found it's nearly twin cache a couple of months ago. As I approaced GZ, some annoying trucker decided he had to park right in front of the cache. But he quickly retreated to his sleeping compartment, while I snatched the cache and signed the log all while doing the now familiar rest stop cache pretending to talk on the cell phone feint. Thanks ScouterMark.

I found it! 09 Apr 2004    CHESTNUT RIDGE  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Hmm. Stumbled across this one while surfing some old area navicache logs. Logging much later, but found 9 Apr 04. This is currently the oldest existing cache in Erie County, has over 100 visits on "the other website", and has been adopted. The other cache hidden by the long gone original owner "hacker" was also adopted, but was pilfered, and has been moved from it's original location, so that one (Eternal Flame Falls) should remain retired. This one should be un-retired, I'll see if I can make that happen.

I found it! 13 Mar 2004    The Old Dirt Road  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found on a nasty 25 Deg. Day with 30 MPH winds, but I was in the area, so what the heck. Cache in excellent condition after it's first winter. Thanks.

I found it! 28 Feb 2004    Night Sweats  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Woohoo!! First to find! (On Navicache that is) I used it for milestone #100 on "that other webite" A outstanding cache that I would recommend to anyone. Great Job HartClimbs.

I found it! 27 Feb 2004    1779 Memorial Tree  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Wow, probably the most logs I've seen on a Navicache page, especially since I'm the first logging it here in almost 1.5 years! Found it totally exposed after the winter snow melt, but grabbed lots of bark to cover. Thanks.

I found it! 27 Feb 2004    Ey Ukhnem  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Hey, you have to love Navicache, where I'm only a mere 57 finds behind StayFloopy, as opposed to 2,500. This was an enjoyable walk from the parking coords down the D&R towpath. Thanks.

Just paying my respects to an old find on the Navicache website. Jeesh, it's a 4 star difficulty on that "other website". Toughie, spent about 45 minutes looking for it.

I found it! 30 Nov 2003    Olmsted #1c - The Park  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

I found it! 08 Nov 2003    Along Oatka Trail  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

I found it! 01 Nov 2003    Olmsted #5 - Riverside Park  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Was pretty difficult, but I eventually found it. There was nothing inside but a full logbook, pencil and sharpener.

I found it! 30 Oct 2003    Olmsted #2 - South Park  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

Great cache. Needed the pic for the start point, GPS wasn't taking me there too easily.

Just joined navicache, logging a find from October 03.

I found it! 12 Oct 2003    Glen Falls Aquaview  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This has got to be the oldest existing cache in the area. Still there, still dry. Nice park along the creek there.

I found it! 10 Oct 2003    Olmsted #3b - Cazenovia Park  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Just joined Navicache, logging in an old one.

I found it! 04 Oct 2003    A View To Nature  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

What a trip down memory lane. Looks like this was my 15th find ever on this date (logging over 2.5 years later, after it was adopted, and listed on Navicache). I didn't mention it in my gc.com log, but I STILL specifically remember coming across a skunk on the way back from this one, who hissed at me just like a cat. Thanks for the cache, Mick, and GIVE ME BACK MY AMMO BOX! (Just Kidding) (not really).

I found it! 21 Sept 2003    Creekside  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Found the same day as BlackPete. I can't imagine how this thing was "muggled" but somehow it was.

I found it! 21 Sept 2003    Maple Grove Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Logging this way after the fact. I remember it was my first ever "out of town" cache. I've become much better at reading mapquest maps, and turning on the GPS *BEFORE* I get to the cache site now.

I found it! 20 Sept 2003    Lumberjack's Haven  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Just joined navicache, found 20 Sept. 03. I remember the GPS coverage being horrific, but a good hide, and relatively easy find.
