Note 28 Jun 2009    RIP Billy Bones  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Relocated Billy's remains and his treasure as his old ship looks like it was in a Pirate war and lost. Look for Billy's bones to find the cache not far from the original locatin.

Note 20 May 2007    Petey's Plunder  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We are archiving this cache. Someone plundered Petey's booty and left very little behind - they even burned the papers and left them for us. Guess they really wanted the ammo can.

I found it! 19 Apr 2006    Box in the Woods  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Nice walk in the woods. WP 1 was about 40' off but not difficult to find. No problem with the rest.

I found it! 19 Apr 2006    A Cache Experiment: #1 Cache and Dash  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Not our favorite type of cache. Took a few minutes to find the cache. Don't miss the daffodils off the trail across the street.

I found it! 19 Apr 2006    A Cache Experiment: #2 Traditional  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Did this with the other in the series. Definitely enjoyed this more than the micro.

I found it! 19 Apr 2006    Canal Bypass  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

Did this along with Cartersville. It looks like the creek goes uphill under the road. Drove around to see where it come s out. It goes under 2 roads and the canal.

I found it! 15 Oct 2005    Letchworth Fall Gathering IV  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Always enjoy these events, meeting new people and seeing old frinds.

I couldn 15 Oct 2005    big tree picnic log  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Went looking for this cache with Racer and Boo. Meet other caches near the waypoints but came up empty.

I found it! 18 Sept 2005    qui est cache`?  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

Looked where the QPS pointed us and then widened the search. Found it at 43 13.952, 77 40.657 with 15 foot accuracy but not a lot of satellites.

I found it! 21 Aug 2005    Bathing with the Devil Earthcache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

We attended a picnic in the park at the Devil's Bathtub Pavillion. We walked the trail and after returning remembered there was an earth cache here. Took a picture with the lake in the background. After doing the East Esker cache and a few others in the park we were too tired to do the stairs again. Hope the picture is ok.

I found it! 08 May 2005    Bike 104  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Took a break from studying for a bike ride to do this cache. Nice day - no bugs and very few people on the path. Spent a little time at 2 and then picked up some numbers that didn't work. Went back and found the right information. Struggled with number 5 - we were right on the waypoint and didn't "see" it until we spent some time looking everywhere else. Took Ernie TB.

I found it! 01 May 2005    Paddle Back  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 5 )

The cache is safe and secure. What a great area to explore. Thanks Gimpy.

I found it! 01 May 2005    Leaping Limericks  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

I found it! 24 Apr 2005    Chile's Peppers: Perinton East  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Decided to go out and do this one in the evening. Of course we went the wrong way. We thought for sure we were avoiding the same mistake others made but we didn't look at a map first. We went .7 and ran into the dead end. Back to another area and luckily picked the right trail. Tried another trail coming back, but it is currently overrun with water. Almost made it back to the car before the drenching rain!

I found it! 22 Apr 2005    Cherry  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Nice walk to the cache. Luckily we found the right paths and didn't spend hours out there roaming the trails. Nice hiding spot. This is our second new Barrington cache this week. Barrington was one of the first geocachers we met when we started caching. It's always good to seem him and his wife at events and to do his caches. Took 2 Where's George and left 2 Where's George.

Remembered Verda says Hi and started looking for something similar. GPS was off today and we were looking in the wrong places for a while. We were about to give up and did our final circle of the area and there it was. Covered the whole in the container with the baggy.

I found it! 21 Apr 2005    Dishmill Creek Micro  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

I found it! 03 Dec 2004    Stop 22 on the Wharf  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found part one with no major problems but did have to do a double take. Part 2 was harder for us. Spent about an hour looking with Tippycanoe and a friend until it was too dark to continue searching. Went back today without GPS and walked right up to it!

I couldn 31 Oct 2004    ..In The Middle of Our Street  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Headed into this gulley after climbing up one side. The creek was flowing and the water was high. We managed to stay dry until one of us fell. Then it didn't matter if the water was over the top of the boots. We got to the cache but couldn't go any higher. The water was running to fast. We know we went up at least one more level in the past, but not today. Thanks Rocky for getting us back to this area.

I couldn 28 Dec 2003    The Sullivan Clinton Trail  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found part 1 of course and then onto part 2. If we were in the right place, we didn't find the coords. Looked high and low, under and above everything in the area including the bird house that was used for target practice, road signs, guard rails, boards, rocks, and everything else. We either have the wrong coords or were not in the right frame of mind. We'll try again when we get back that way.

Really enjoyed looking for both caches. It's a good thing our niece was not with us today. We're sure we would have had a hard time convincing her the ruby slippers had to stay with the cache. The only thing missing was the music, but we helped a little with that. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 09 Nov 2003    Oz (Part Two) - Return to Kansas  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

We really liked the various characters used in the cache, especially the witch. Like HF John we had to search a bit for the broom, clever idea. Thanks for the adventure.

I found it! 05 Oct 2003    HI-LO Geocache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We really enjoyed this cache. Started in a spot that seemed right but obviously was not. Found a parking area and then the right place. There were a lot of fishermen there. Someone told us the trout and salmon are running and there were fishermen from as far as PA. There were at least 50 of them there. We were able to get to the cache without being seen. Thanks for this great adventure. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 21 Sept 2003    The Old Boneyard  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We went in the hard way, across the tracks. We couldn't believe there was a tunnel when we came down off the bank! It sure made the walk back easier. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 21 Sept 2003    Water for your soul  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 1 )

Spent a bit of time at the last part. Looked all under the structure but didn't find it. Went back to the car, logged on to look at the picture clue and there it was. A little more persistence would have paid off. Took nothing, left nothing.

Found parts of the trail and then the cache. The creek is dry. The area around the cache is loaded with mosquitos. Took nothing, left nothing.

Now for the real recipe - it's our version of Moosewood Restaurant's Chili

Sautee - one clove garlic (or more), onions (as many as you like)in olive oil (just enough to cover the bottom of the pan. While this is sauteeing - heat 2 cans tomoato soup with tomato juice added to equal 4 cups - in micowave. When juice and soup is boiling, add 2 cups bulgar wheat. Let it sit covered. The bulgar will absorb the liquid. Add to the sautee - red chopped sweet peppers. When veggies are the texture you prefer, add at least 1 package of chili mix (more depending on your preference). Add in black beans (2 cans), two cans stewed or diced tomatos, one package of frozen corn, the bulgar, some red wine. Heat and then serve. You can also add celery and other veggies to the veggie mix.

I found it! 07 Jun 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This is the log for the picnic cache. The first set of coords were for a location 17 miles from the event - we decided they were the wrong set. Grabbed another set and went with Onamission and the SU guys to find the cache. The coordinates took us to a cemetary (.56 walk each way). We looked everywhere. Cenobite and group appeared. Cenobite had a different set of coordinates so we all headed there (.25 walk each way). Met up with other cachers and we all searched the woods for a long time. Decided to head back to the picnic area and see if there were another set of coords. Driving up Log Cabin Road we saw Harv and Donna (without Donna)on the side of the road. He admitted he was only a few feet away from his coordinates. We unloaded our two cars and started looking. It wasn't long until we realized where the cache was hidden. Thanks for the hunt and the exercise. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 26 May 2003    DRIVING PARK GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Another park we didn't know about. No one was on the track but from the marks we guessed what is raced here. Looked around a bit for the cache - of course in all the wrong places. Another one that we walked past a few times.

I found it! 26 May 2003    SAND POINT GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

We use to live in Mumford and remember when this park wasn't here. What a nice area. We also had to stare at the ducks for a while. Took a while to find the clue - definitely need it - then a little kid came up and said what are you doing? He was followed by 3 more. We threw the box in the bush. We told him we were watching the ducks and he reprimanded us and we told him to be quiet or he would scare the ducks! Finally he went away and we retrieved the box and repositioned it where it belongs.

I found it! 26 May 2003    PAPER MILL PARK GEOCACHE  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

We didn't know about this park and lived in Mumford when we first moved to this area. Took some pictures of the falls. We walked past the cache many times, stood next to it even used it for a resting spot. One last look and there it was. No one will find this by accident if it stays in its spot and well covered.

I found it! 12 Apr 2003    Who Ya Gonna Call?  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We can't believe we finally finished this one. We started it almost one year ago. We were saving the 2nd waypoint for the winter when we knew we couldn't travel far from home. Then the winter was so bad we got out to get the information but didn't write down all the details. Back we went today and finished the search. The cache is safe and dry. There are still a lot of nice things in this one. Enjoyed waypoint 3. Took nothing, left nothing.

We even looked deeper under this item and didn't find it. With no finds since it was placed, we're not sure if it is still intact, moved, or we just missed it.

I found it! 18 Sept 2002    Orient Express  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3 )

Finding a place to start has been our dilemma. We started earlier than usual and decided to try this one. One spot was .8 from the cache but soon ran out of trails with a potential .5 bushwhack. We turned around and found the same spot others used (hadn't seen the logs until now) at .18 and bushwhacked in since there was very little evidence of any trails. Walked right up to the cache but who knows where we were! Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 17 Sept 2002    1K Sanctuary  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Decided to finally go after this one. Figured the bugs would be at a minimum. We did manage to find a few mosquitos but it was tolerable. Meet another geocaching team in the area and together we searched every possible hiding spot. It does pay to walk away and come from a different direction. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Sept 2002    Hilly Hills Adventure  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 4 )

Fopund it at 6pm. Our last of 16 for the weekend. We were on our way home and decided to stop. Read about the concerns regarding the rating, but near the end there are some nasty areas to climb over and under. The ground near the water is very soft also. We started looking a little too early, but once we realized it was still about 60' away, we headed right for it. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 14 Sept 2002    Historic Forts  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The first fort at this site was built in 1755 by the British. Called The Fort of Six Nations or Fort Ontario, it was an eight pointed, wooden stockade furnished with swivel cannon effective only against small bodies of attacking troops. It was built to accommodate 300 men. The first fort was destroyed by the French in August 1756. The second British fort was started in 1759. It was designed to accommodate 500 men. But during the American Revolution, after the Battles of Saratoga, Oriskany, and the siege of Fort Stanwix in 1777, the British abandoned Fort Ontario. In 2778 the second Fort Ontario was destroyed by American Troops based at Fort Stanwix. The British reoccupied Oswego in 1782 and rebuilt Fort Ontario. In 1796 the third fort was turned over to the US. But it was attacked and destroyed in May 1814. Between 1839 and 1844, the present fort was built of earth and timber with a sloping outer face. In 1901 the fort was abandoned. Between 1903 and 1905 buildings were added outside the old fort to house large numbers of troops. The fort itself was abandoned until 1928 when the Enlisted Men's Barracks was turned into an officers' club and the other buildings converted to apartments for junior officers. By 1941 there were 125 buildings at Fort Ontario. Between 1944 and 1946 Fort Ontario was used as an emergency refugee center for victims of the Nazi Holocaust. In 1946 the fort was transferred to the State of New York. It was developed as a State Historic Site in 1949.

Fort Ontario is located in Oswego, NY on Lake Ontario at N43 27.922, W76 30.504.

Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Sept 2002    ANDREA'S CHARM  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Headed to Binghamton to do a group of caches. This was our 6th of 7 for the day. With no map of the area, it took a while to find this park. GPS was bouncing all over in the area of the cache, but lucked out and found a "sunny" spot. Once the GPS settled down, we turned in the direction of the cache and then knew where it was hidden because that's where we would have put it. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Aug 2002    THE OTHER SISTER  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

We thought the Big Kahuna was our last one of the day. After walking over the bridge to Canada from the parking lot for the Big Kahuna and walking through town we got back to the car and decided to try a few more on our way home and this one was sooooo close. Parked in the 20 minute parking spot, walked right to the cache and found it within 5 minutes at 7:35 pm. We still wanted to do the ones on Grand Island so we hustled to the car and over to Buckhorn State Park. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Aug 2002    RAW POWER!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 4 )

Stayed on the lower trail after doing Devil of a Hike and Niagara Gorge Trail. We had been getting a low battery signal since Devil of a Hike. So we estimated our speed on the rocks and shut it off for 15-20 minutes while we made progress towards the cache. We enjoyed walking over this “path” if you can call it that in some areas. Lots of fun. Found the cache around 1:30 (maybe a little later). Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Aug 2002    RAPID ART  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found it at 11:30 AM. Really liked walking along the river. Thanks for getting us to a place we probably would not have come to otherwise. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Aug 2002    A DEVIL OF A HIKE  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3.5 )

Went to this one with only the printout, camera and GPS. Thought we wouldn’t be long. Once on the trail we realized how “close” the next one was without having to redo the stairs, and then another one or maybe 3 more in total!! Wish we brought the water. Found this one at 12:30 AM. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 07 Aug 2002    FISH'S SPAWN  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Our 9th and last cache of the day. After logging approximately 18 miles of walking and the lateness of the day, we decided it was time to head home when we finished this one. Found it at around 8:15 pm. Took nothing, left nothing. Great view, especially of NF after sun was down. We raced back to the car to avoid too much walking in the dark. Thanks for a great day.

I found it! 29 Jul 2002    THe Bluebird Angel  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The Skyliner Diner is loated in the Strong Museum in Rochester, NY at N43 09.183 W77 36.058. The diner was manufactured in 1956 in NJ. It was moved to Trout Run, PA 10 miles north of Williamsport on US Rte 15 and PA Rte 14. It was called the Mountain Top Diner. In 1999 the diner was closed so the state could build the new Rte 15. The owners of Rochester's Highland Park Diner purchased it in 1996. It was renamed the Skyliner and opened in the Strong Museum in 1997. I found it! 25 Jul 2002    The Treasure Of Blackbeard  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This might be one of the best locations we went to for a geocache. The wind was brisk and there were big waves on the water. It felt like we were at the ocean. We walked to the end, only wish the path kept going. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for the nice walk. Found it at 6:55 pm.

I found it! 24 Jul 2002    Locke of Olde Cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

I found it! 05 Jul 2002    Grime's Glen  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Had to find this one. Like hiking in here. It took us a while to get the location pinned down. After looking with the GPS we decided to just hunker down and do some hard looking and found it. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 25 Jun 2002    Moose River Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found it at 12:30 pm. Looked around for at least 1/2 hour. We were doing our last walk around when we stumbled upon it. Didn't bring the pictures but the hints helped. Took nothing, left nothing.

I couldn 18 Jun 2002    Landing on the Moon  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 3 )

Don't know if we should log a miss yet as we'll probably go back. We spent over an hour in the area with the GPS bouncing. We got as close as 7 feet. We looked up, down, in every hole (at least we think we did), under rocks. Some how we missed this one. I suggest taking a flashlight especially in low light conditions. The bugs must be hybernating due to the cooler weather. There are a lot of real good potential hiding places. It's sort of like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I found it! 16 Jun 2002    Busy as a Beaver  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found it at 2:20 pm. Of course we crossed over to the wrong side and ended up on the wrong side of the beaver pond. We found a way to cross without getting too wet. Nice area. Stayed on the right side going out and it was faster and dryer. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 16 Jun 2002    Penny's Point  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

I found it! 16 Jun 2002    Silver Lake Rail Road Trail  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I couldn 15 Jun 2002    the bass cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Had an older printout and didn't know two others couldn't find this one also. We found the goal posts and went into the woods in a few different places. Looked everywhere within 50-100 feet (where we could). Thought it was well hidden due to the growth. Decided we try again when either the leaves are gone or someone else finds it. It is possible it is missing!

Note 15 Jun 2002    Message in a Bottle  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found the first part. Had to look around a little but it is in a great location. Got to the second part. Due to the rain, mosquitos and our recent run-in with poison ivy, decided to wait for a dryer day. It was early and we were sure to get very wet in the high brush (this was our first cache of the day). We'll be back soon.

Ate at the Blue Water Grill and found our Sunfish parts on 20 East. Thanks for giving us an excuse to visit.

I found it! 04 Jun 2002    The rainy day cache  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Wandered out late tonight so decided to stay close to home. Did Sam's Surprise and then this one. Sure glad we were on the right side. Threatening thunderstorms and recent rain made this a real "rain forest". The growth was above our waist making it extra difficult to see the ground and the tree cover played havoc with the GPS. After about 1/2 search Dave honed in on it - he wasn't leaving until he found it. We were soaked from the wet shrubs but had fun. Took nothing, left nothing. Found it at 8:40 pm.

I found it! 04 Jun 2002    Sams Surprise  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found it at 5:40 pm. Found a good parking spot and then a short walk to the cache. The park was empty. Took nothing, left nothing.

Note 02 Jun 2002    THE HOBBIT - BAG END CACHE  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Had a copy of the info we printed on 5/8/02 and thus the wrong coordinates for the waypoint. We didn't realize it until we hunted for a long time in an area that sort of met the description. Then realized the parking and cache coordinates were the same. Went back to the car and talked to some locals who told us about the trails so we headed to the pond. Saw some areas that were possibilities based on the descriptions but without the waypoints it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Oh well, we'll try and get back out this way.

Note 01 Jun 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

It was great "seeing" everyone. Hope someone found the cache. Thanks Quinn for putting this together.

We started this one last week. We thought we were on the wrong side after looking for a way down without finding one. By then it was too dark to continue. Started on the opposite side tonight and it didn't take long to realize that we were right the first time. Realized we were looking in the wrong area for a trail down. Took an "indian trail" or "mud slide" down. It is wet in the area but the cache is dry. Liked the pirate statue. Took nothing, left nothing.

Found it aroun 7:25pm. Tried finding a way to get to this spot when we were in the park two other times during the past month. Couldn't quite figure it out and ran out of daylight. On our way to our usual parking area we saw a new Trailhead Parking sign and took a chance. It got us to the area we wanted to be in. Our unit read 50' from the coordinates. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for introducing us to this area of the park.

I found it! 27 Apr 2002    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one around 7 pm. Picked up blue hitchhiker dude. Always wanted to see where this trail goes, thanks for getting us out there.

I found it! 26 Apr 2002    Heron Bay  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We found it around 8 pm. Had to hurry back as the sun was setting. We saw 2 deer, a turkey and geese. Petey drew a picture in your book and we took a card with an image of your stamp. Really liked the stamp. Petey "liked" the hills!

I found it! 26 Apr 2002    Gimpys Walk  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one at 7 pm. Petey actually found it. The GPS was heading right but she spotted the cache. Took play dough and left an action figure. Took a picture of Petey and Red Dog - not sure of the number. Look for a little girl with a pink hood and guy with a blue hat.

Note 23 Apr 2002    Wadham's Walk  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one in April but never logged it. Took nothing, left nothing. Logged 9/19/02.

I found it! 21 Apr 2002    Richard's Park Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This was 1 of 6 we found today in the area. Would never have known this park was here. Not on any map we had with us. But using the GPS and NYS Gazetter hunted around until we found the way in. Found it at 1:20 pm. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 19 Apr 2002    KNOT JUST FOR SCOUTS  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this one at 3:20 pm. Lots of bushes. Looking for trees helped. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 19 Apr 2002    It's A Girl Thing!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one at 2:25 pm. Logged the cache at N43 04.362, W75 54.978. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 18 Apr 2002    Igloo at the Glen  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this at 9:50 AM. Took a much needed band aid. The cache was sitting on the hill not hiding or covered about a foot from what looked like its spot. So we put it there and when we returned home and looked at the picture, it looks like it is now where it belongs.

I couldn 16 Apr 2002    Hamlin Name It & Claim It  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We realized early that this was a 2 parter. The clues and one of the pictures don't match up with the area (at least we think). The waypoints put us in the middle of a deadend road. Our Garmin GPS 12 Map usually puts us anywhere from right on the cache to within 30 feet. So we looked around for a while. Walked up and down the road, read mailboxes, checked the debris pile, the concrete wall (removing broken pieces), around the barrier and out to the rocks. Having no luck at two other caches that hadn't been visited in a while and having a sheet with logs that ended 2/23 and no pictures we decided to go home and try to figure out what we did wrong. We were amazed at the number of entries since 2/23. Not sure if the pictures help because we don't know if they are for this part or the second part. Have an idea where to look, but will have to wait until we can get back out that way.

I found it! 16 Apr 2002    HOGS BACK VISTAS  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We really enjoyed hiking in this area. Our first time. What a different perspective of the gorge. Took lots of pictures.

I found it! 16 Apr 2002    Gibsonville Doublet  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 2.5 )

Enjoyed the hike. This is a real nice area. Definitely take a camera. Took travel bug 202901 Travel Monster. He wants to visit every state. Will try to get him further South!

Note 16 Apr 2002    Two Rivers  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

From reports at the other geocaching site we realized that we were not going to find this one. It has been confirmed that the cache is underwater as of Sunday. We decided to hike the area anyway, wanted to see how high the water was. It was interesting to see the high water marks on the reeds! Walked the main trail a lot farther than we needed to - had the GPS zoomed out and didn't realize how far we went. Backtracked to the top of a cliff and then finally down to the water's edge. Spent about 3 hours hiking in this area. The ground is very wet in places and the hills are definitely not easy. Enjoyed our time there. Hope you find the cache.

I found it! 16 Apr 2002    Stony Brook State Park Geocache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

The gorge trail is still closed for the season. Took the rim trail - lots of stairs. Dropped off travel bug - Travel Monster 202901 we picked up at Gibsonville Doublet in Letchworth State Park.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

A busy day of geocaching for us. Found this one at 12pm. Lots of prickers on bushes. After hiking all winter forgot what that does to skin! Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Geodecache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this one at 5pm. It was floating in a deep puddle at its coordinates. Moved it 2 feet up to dry ground. We found an easier route in than others noted earlier. However, the ground is very wet. Took nothing left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Maps Maiden  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Once we found the trail this one was easy to locate. A tight spot to get into. Wish we were shorter. Used the wet ones to wipe up the blood from the pricker bushes. Path is very wet. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Northhampton Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

This is our first time in this park. The ground is very wet. Enjoyed the adventure. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    A Hawks View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

The trail is extremely muddy. Legs were covered with mud from splashing. Definitely need boots this time of year. Swapped a Where's George we found in Durand. The cache was laying sideways on the ground about a foot from a tree at the coordinates. We placed it a foot off the ground in the crotch of that tree.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Creeks Edge Cache!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one at 1:10 pm. Nice walk and not as muddy as the other caches we did today. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Ghost's Revenge!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this one at 11:10 am. Walked from two other caches in this area. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Ghost's Domain  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this one at 10:20 am. Swapped a Where's George. Lots of maintenance crews out. Had to "sneak" over to this one. We have never been in this area of the park, really enjoyed the hike.

I found it! 15 Apr 2002    Durand Discovery 1  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We lucked out. The second spot we stopped at was the right one. The Dove Tree was our first. After looking around and not seeing a fallen log moved on to the next spot and it was there. Again had to wait for maintenance crews to clear the area at the bottom of the hill. Took nothing, left nothing.

I couldn 15 Apr 2002    "A", "B", Seabreeze (2-parter)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Looked for this cache last week but didn't find it. Decided we must have made a mistake at the first waypoint and went back with something to help us see the numbers a little better (eyes are getting too old)! We were right and plugged this into the formulas. Got the same answers as before and headed back to the second waypoint. We looked everywhere in the area for the second time and could not find the cache. We decided we are either in the wrong place, the cache is missing, or we are missing a clue. We'll see if someone else has better luck.

I couldn 15 Apr 2002    Westward Ho (The Imposter wants to go)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Did part one a few weeks ago. A little unsure of our waypoints for the second part got assurance from Yardboy that we shouldn't trust the maps on our GPS. Headed out to finish this one today. Found it with no problem. Used this information to find waypoint 3. Headed there but did not have a picture of the clue. We're sure we were in the right spot but couldn't find the cache. We'll look again next time we are out that way.

I found it! 10 Apr 2002    Issaquah's Pebble In A Gravel Pit  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 1.5 )

It definitely took a while to find this one. Finally when the GPS said 0 feet away I just stood still and looked for the clue. Without it we would not have found it. It was less than a foot from me! Took the lockset and Sacquegua coin and left a minature barbie and another character from our niece's collection. The coin will go with her report she is working on for school.

Note 07 Apr 2002    High Falls Cache -That I can do and I will- Sam P.  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We could see the cache but couldn't get to it. Someone had a car accident on the road near the parking area and there were at least 3 police vehicles there when we arrived. We walked around a bit, but one vehicle remained with lights flashing. We decided to go away and come back later. As soon as we left the police car left also. Decided to save this for another day. Took some pictures. Enjoyed the view.

I found it! 07 Apr 2002    Maple Grove Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Our one success for the day. A nice walk on a cold day. Signed the register.

I found it! 07 Apr 2002    Issaquah In Irondeqoit  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Walked from the upper parking area (not sure when they would close the gates). We were glad the ice and snow was gone. Swapped a Where's George and left a travel bug #102685. He is trying to get to Ontario Canada. If you are heading West, please take him with you. He is owned by a boy in New Mexico who is trying to get him to his friend in Canada.

I found it! 07 Apr 2002    Return to Earth  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We enjoyed hiking in this part of the park. We haven't been in this area before. Of course we thought the cache was on the hill surrounded on 3 sides by reeds and 1 by water. Determined we ventured out on the reeds and at our destination realized we had to cross back over. A boot full of water and 100 feet later we found the cache. Left Scooby-Doo #208379, a traveler we picked up in Green Lakes last week. Don't know his destination, but have fun placing him in another location.

I found it! 06 Apr 2002    Isabel's Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found her. It was cold and I think everyone was hibernating.

I found it! 06 Apr 2002    Isabel's Treasure Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

What a great area. We enjoyed the walk. Took nothing, left nothing. The creek is up but the cache is very safe from the waters.

I couldn 06 Apr 2002    I Heard it on the Grapevine  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We were within 70 feet of the cache but couldn't get to it. We believe it is sitting in the middle of what is now a small pond. Looks like this area has been dry until recently, can see grass growing under the water. We walked all around the location and couldn't get any closer. We'll come back when the water recedes.

I found it! 06 Apr 2002    Gypsum Mine  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We were at the spot but couldn't find the cache. Then realized that it was below us. Took the Moon Muck and left some beads. We enjoyed hiking in this area.

I found it! 06 Apr 2002    Deer Crossing  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Arrived at the site at 1:00. No deer out this time of day. Had no problem finding the cache. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 06 Apr 2002    Avon Calling Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Our first cache of the day. Walked from the parking area. Wish we had our bikes. Swapped a Where's George.

I found it! 31 Mar 2002    Verona - No Gentlemen  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was our 1st of 3 today. Didn't know this part of the park existed. Picked up a trail map at the end, wish we had it in the beginning. It was a nice walk. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    KID STUFF  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was our 6th cache in this area today. Batteries quit just before finding this one but we were in the vicinity and found the cache based on the description. Left nothing, took nothing. Glad we had a chance to revisit this park. We will definitely be back.

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    5-ALIVE  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was our 4th of 6 caches today. Walked to this one from "A Soldier's Pay". Of course we took the long way. This is such a nice park, we enjoyed the walk. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    Round Lake National Natural Landmark  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Kept losing GPS signal due to heavy tree coverage. The description helped pinpoint the location. Took Scooby traveler. Look for him heading West in the next two weeks.

I found it! 30 Mar 2002    A Soldier's Pay  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was our 3rd of 6 caches today. Of course we were on a lower trail trying to figure out how to climb up. Took the long route but enjoyed the walk. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 29 Mar 2002    Confluence Marks the Spot  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

It was cool seeing all the zeros on the GPS. With no leaves on the trees we were able to spot the location from the clues. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 29 Mar 2002    Baby Boney Falls  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

We looked for this on the wrong side - again. Once we realized there were more trails in the park, we headed in the right direction. However, we walked down instead of up!!!!

I found it! 19 Mar 2002    Discombobulated Universe (retired)  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this one around 6 pm. Nice place. Will definitely be back. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 19 Mar 2002    MOTHER-IN-LAWS WALK  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Great location, great hiding place. Nice contents. Found this around 6:30 pm. Couldn't hang around and look for more it was getting too dark. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    The Shining Path  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This one was a lot of fun. When we were at the first way point someone came outside and told us the grounds are closed for 90 days! The cache is very wet. There was ice inside the box. We drained the water and got rid of the ice, but everything in the box is wet except the items in the zip lock. We put the container back where we found it.

Note 17 Mar 2002    So...Where is George ?  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We were at the spot and sure we had the right tree. Actually moved the leaves under all the pines. We couldn't find the altoids container. Came back and looked and the pictures and I'm sure we were in the right spot.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    Morgans Adventure  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Headed out to this park to find another cache and realized there was more than one to hunt for. Found this one first. Didn't take Bernie since we don't plan on heading West of Rochester in the near future. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    Hawthorn  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This one took some time to find. We entered from the main entrance and after finding 3 other caches were pretty tired. We decided to move the car to the location in the hint. The trails switch back and forth and always seem to take you in the wrong direction. Realizing the reeds wouldn't work we turned right after the bridge and bushwhacked to the location. After reading the log we realized there must be a trail nearby - and there was one within 20 feet!!! It would help to get a trail map for this park before heading out. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    No Exit  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We parked at the main entrance and did this one after finding another cache in the area. Took a very wet, swampy route. Once we got close it was not hard to find. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    Down in the Dumps  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

From part I we took the road and reentered the area between the grassy area and main entrance. It was not hard locating this part from there. Like the item on the tree. Took nothing, left nothing.

Note 17 Mar 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

We're planning on being there.

I found it! 16 Mar 2002    Badge Adventure cache!  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We found this one after walking around the circle a few times. Our batteries quit just as the GPS noted we were 18 feet from the cache. Luckily we had our namesake with us. Being closer to the ground, she spotted the can.

I found it! 16 Mar 2002    It's as easy as ABC  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We were in this area last week. Too bad we didn't have the info for this one with us. A little muddy but were able to get to cache with no problem. Took a Where's George and left a wind up toy.

I found it! 09 Mar 2002    Pink Panther  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

What a great place. Thanks for the hint about the reeds we would have probably tried the same. Found the area but took a few minutes to find the cache. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 09 Mar 2002    George - George...George of the Jungle!  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We were checking out the caches we found this AM and realized we never logged this one. It's now 6/2/02!!!

I found it! 03 Mar 2002    Planes, Trains and Automobiles  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Started to make the crossing but decided to try the trail. Quickly realized we needed to cross. Did so, then onto the cache. Made a loop back to the car. Took nothing, left nothing.

I couldn 02 Mar 2002    Naples Creek Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We spent at least 1/2 hour circling wider and wider the way point. Could not locate the container. There has been a lot of trail work and work along the creek in this area. Looks like new boulders are in place to hold back the spring waters. Don't know if this is new since the cache was placed. Didn't have the picture and will go back with it to see if we can find that tree.

I found it! 24 Feb 2002    Highpoint  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Found this while on the "trail" of another. GPS put us within a few feet. Nice area, did a lot of bushwhacking for this one. Took nothing and left nothing.

I found it! 23 Feb 2002    Night Stalker Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

We really enjoyed this one. Glad we did our research. Didn't know what we would need the info for since we had a sense of where the 2nd part was taking us (without looking at the hints).

I found it! 23 Feb 2002    Night Stalker Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Great idea how the info from the first part is used in the 2nd. We like this area so took advantage of the nice weather to roam to our favorite spots.

I found it! 22 Feb 2002    Graveyard Grumble Part 1 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was one of our first finds. Really enjoyed looking for the clues. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 22 Feb 2002    Graveyard Grumble Part 2 of 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Enjoyed this one. Wish there were more parts. Took nothing, left nothing.

I found it! 21 Feb 2002    Gimpys Linear  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

We found this one without much difficulty once we headed in the right direction in the park. We hike here a lot but don't usually go in the direction of the cache. Found 2 places to cross, but if we get more snow or rain, it might be difficult to get to until waters recede.

I found it! 21 Feb 2002    Beechwoods Mayonnaise Jar  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This area has gotten quite muddy since we were here in January. The cache is in a good location. Items are damp. We exchanged a few trinkets.

I found it! 21 Feb 2002    Hogan's Hero's  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Great location. The path to the cache is quite noticable with no leaves on the brush. Knew we were in the area and then saw the snake. Took a peek and added an entry to the log. We exchanged nothing. Nice items in the can.
