I found it! 25 Apr 2002    Lower Falls And The Old Glen House cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

It was a wet miserable morning, but it stopped raining long enough to make the trek. It was muddy and slippery in the last 100 feet down the trail. My GPS was all over the place. Good thing I took along the Cache description, cause I needed the uprooted tree clue to find it. Great park, it looks like there must be a lot of traffic in the area during the summer. Thanks for the hike. Took nothing, left nothing, in fact I forgot to log in.

I found it! 01 Apr 2002    Gimpys Linear  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I was telling a friend about Geocaching last week, he was excited about the 'sport', and the next day he bought a GPS and his family's 1st visit on Good Friday was your site. I think that was a good choice, now he's hooked. I didn't take of leave anything, but my feet are still dry! Thanks for the interesting cache. <'////><

I found it! 18 Mar 2002    Rear View Mirror Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4.5 )

Happy St. Pat's day! This was an adventure for me. My GPS was bouncing all over, which meant I went out of my way. Once I was in the vicinty I was determined to find the cache, I knew I'd never make a return trip if I couldn't find it. Finally I found it! I took nothing, and left a WheresGeorge bill. Moved on to the Pez cache, not too far away. Thanks for the climb. Maybe I'd rate this a 4 Star.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    Genesee River Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2 )

St. Pat's day. I just finished a large Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner, and I thought I'd best walk off some of my over-endulgence. Your cache was about right for the amount of energy I wanted to expend. I gather you must be familiar with this area, because if it didn't have a cache there I never in my life would have seen this area. Again I made a rather easy cache twice as difficult as need be, I parked in the correct spot, but I went in South of the trail, never did see the trail until I was by the entrance on my exit. The direction I went, I had to do a little bushwacking, and then I had to throw a large limb over a small drainage ditch in order to cross. Cache was in good shape. I took nothing, and left a WheresGeorge bill. It's amazing how many areas I've seen with navicaching that I didn't know existed. Nice remote woods, thanks for the hike.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    Cracker-Barrel Keepsake  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

St. Pat's Day - Top of the Mornin'. Thanks for the cache! Great day, hike and views. I took a WheresGeorge $1 and 2-AA Batteries, I left one of my own WheresGeorge bills and a keychain puzzle.

I found it! 17 Mar 2002    PEZ Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

Happy St. Pat's day! I found the PEZ cache just after finding the REAR VIEW MIRROR cache. My starting point was already 60% of the way there, so the final leg down was relatively easy, but I still had to climb my way out. I took a PEZ and left a WheresGeorge bill. I guess I was too worried about my footing to do any sightseeing, thanks for the climb.

I found it! 10 Mar 2002    MOTHER OF ROCKY  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This is great Deer country evidenced by the number of Deer I saw today. Lots of great woods in this part of the state, I wish I could spend more time in woods like this. I found the cache easily, when I left I concealed the cache with a few more rocks. I imagine quite a few hunters pass by this area. I took a wheresgeorge bill and a small puzzle, and left a wheresgeorge and a Large deck of cards. Thanks for showing me this area, it was also a nice drive just to get close to the area by car.

I found it! 10 Mar 2002    Stony Brook State Park Geocache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 3 )

March 9th & 68 Degrees!! Incredible day!! Nice cache spot, many possible hidding spots to check out. I took the Travel Bingo game and left a wheresgeorge bill & an 'antique' pencil sharpner. I ran into an ole' Buddy of mine - Marty the Travel Bug. I left him alone hoping someone else can give him a lift to a new cache. Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 03 Mar 2002    Seneca Trails  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Nice spot, but lots of traffic, have to be careful not to tipoff the cache spot. The cache was and still is very well covered/hidden. The Temp was droping fast and drizzling, I must have looked stupid hiking with the umbrella. I took a wheresgeorge bill and a Zorro car antenna marker. I left a wheresgeorge bill and 2 fresh AA Batteries for those GPS units. I know they like to eat batteries. Thanks for the hike!

I found it! 03 Mar 2002    The Great Genesee River Deer Run  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I should have taken your advice on the trail in/out. I went directly down the hill/cliff, but then I did it again on the way out - That was a climb, not a hike. Good thing I saw the undernourished deer, because my GPS wanted me to go 75 feet to the West - the river. I later reset my GPS to default TRUE North instead of Magnetic North. Thanks for the climb.

I found it! 02 Mar 2002    Joannes Trek  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Great park and a good cache site. Their were many possible sites nearby to hide a cache, but luckily I found it as my was GPS bouncing around a little. I took a level and left a wheresgeorge bill and a compass zipper pull. Thanks for the hunt! I liked Powder Mill so much I was going to hide a new cache just East of yours, but when I climbed over a rugged hill I ran into houses. That did it, I decided to go to Chimney Bluffs in Sodus.

I found it! 26 Feb 2002    Discombobulated Universe (retired)  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice Cache Spot! Many possible hidding spots to search. GPS bounced around a bit at the site, but I was able to triangulate the cache spot. I took 2 wheresgeorge bills, and left 2 wheresgeorge bills. Thanks for the Cache LHR.

I found it! 22 Feb 2002    Bristol Mountain Madness  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

President's B-Day Week - Son went skiing at Bristol Mt., I went caching. Nice cache spot! I should have cheated, I parked in the 'other' parking spot, it was still a nice hike from there. Amazing winter, being able to GEOcache in February in the Bristol Hills! I was a little hesitant about going for this cache, since it hadn't been visited since Oct. 27th. Still there - in good shape. Thanks for the hunt Gimpy.

I found it! 17 Feb 2002    Issaquah In Perinton  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Maybe a little too - too wet in the area. Today, most of the area was frozen so I could cross the ice. I found the cache but the cache was frozen into the ice. Only the top couple of inches of the ammo can showed. I didn't try and remove the can from the ice, you may need an ice pick to do so, and I didn't want to make the cache worse off than it is. So I left the cache as is, not signing the log.

I found it! 16 Feb 2002    Return to Earth  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I knew this was going to be a good cache site when I saw who placed it, because I ran into Lighthouse Rocket last week by accident at another cache, and he thrived on the more rugged terrain. We wern't dissapointed! I had to move away from the cache site, into the reeds, to get a good fix on the cache. After that we went straight to it. Of coarse on the way in we took the wrong trail which made the hike more difficult than the rating. Great hike!

I found it! 16 Feb 2002    Gimpys Walk  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

My son and I had a nice hike on this one. As I was slip-sliding up the hill, my son went charging right on up. Youth! Well, we found the cache OK, everything was in good shape. We took the 'swiss army knife' and left 2 wheresgeorge bills & a Miami Dolphins zipper thing. GO BILLS!!

I found it! 10 Feb 2002    Ghost's Domain  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Quinn, This was a nice location, overview and all. It was 35 deg./ sunny with 1-2 in. of snow cover. The road was closed into the park area, but a nice hike in. I think if the road was open I could have driven to within 200 ft. of the cache. The cache still looks good after all this time and visits - most logins I've seen. I dropped off a Hitch Hiker - the M&M Guy, a wheresgeorge $1, and a keychain flashlight. I took a 'swiss army' type knife. Strangly enough, I ran into Quinn at my next cache trip in Ellison Park in the PM.

I found it! 10 Feb 2002    Watch out for Private Property!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

I ran into 2 Geocachers (Quinn & Lighthouse Rocket) in the parking area - Lucky for me. The trip was an 'experience'. The trails were steep and slippery and I'm a little gimpy. We found the cache after a while. 3 GPS's giving 3 different locations. All were ~50-60 feet off, probably due to the tree cover. Same comments from previous visitors. I don't think my Garmin eTrex Venture is the best in tree cover, I could have a real problem when the leaves come out. To finish off the 'experience' we decided to find a 'better' way back than the slippery trail in. Big Mistake! We wound around the nearby gravel pit and had to backtrack along the Irondeqoit Creek bank to get out, should have taken the Topo Map along! Overall a nice experience, the cache, the extended hike, and especiall meeting up the other Geocachers. Late longin - because I logged the wrong cache site like the rookie I am.

I found it! 06 Feb 2002    Issaquah In Irondeqoit  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

2/3/2 - Super Bowl Sunday, 25 deg, 2-3 in of snow cover, and ice starting to form on the Bay. Nice cache spot, well hidden, and a great view of the Bay of Irondeqoit. The trails were icy so I walked off the trails in the snow. The cache was dry and in good shape. I took a 'swiss army knife' and a wheresgeorge $1 amd left a wheresgeorge bill and a keychain flashlight. No sign of anyone using the trails recently, but I did run into several hikers on the way out. The icy road was closed from the Maintenance Bldg. down to the Quansit hut (seasonal only). I also picked up a 'Hitch Hiker', the M&M Guy, if the weather holds he'll probably end up in Durand Park. -kajer

I found it! 03 Feb 2002    Issaquah In Irondeqoit  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Great spot! I parked by the maintainance building and walked down - road down to the bay in inpassable. The temp is 25 deg with ice forming on the bay and on the trails. There was about 2-3 inches of snow which was easir to walk in verses the slippery trail. I found the cache without too much trouble. I took the 'Hitch Hiker' M&M guy and a wheresgeorge bill, and left just a wheresgeorge bill. I didn't know if I'd find it since I hadn't looked at the web site recently, the last I knew no one had been to the site since November. More activity recently. -Kajer

I found it! 02 Feb 2002    Webster 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Nice Spot Gimpy! It's nice to have a cache that doesn't use trails all the way in, but then again maybe I just didn't see any trail. Nice cache, lots of 'good stuff'. I took a small flashlight and left a Tire Pressure Gauge, 3 wheresgeorge bills, and a new Tracking Bug - Pauly the Parrot. This was Pauly's first visit to a cache, and I could see that she was excited. I hope Pauly is on her way soon, and visits many caches. Thanks!

I found it! 02 Feb 2002    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

It was a nice winter morn for cacheing. 25 deg. 1-2 in. snow. The trail in was partially frozen but easily passable. The creek was a challange for me (specifically), but I liked the hike a lot. The cache was well hidden, I was within 25 feet for a long time before I saw it. The cache is in good shape, maybe the next person will bring in another pencil or a knife to sharpen the pencil. The pen still works anyway. I took a keychain flashlight and left a 'Travel Bug', a dog from the movie Blue named FLY. I think he'll get lonely out there if it starts snowing. I also left a 'wheresgeorge.com' $1 bill. I hope the next visitor takes it, logs the movement, and moves it on the first chance he/she gets. Kajer

I found it! 27 Jan 2002    Ghost's Revenge!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Great day, great park. About in the mid 50’s today and Sunny. There were lots of golfer’s out on the course! We, my wife and son, drove around a little, trying to find the best approach – isn’t that cheating? We went fairly directly to the cache, although we lost our signals in the tree cover and overshot the mark until we got a new fix. We took a Mickey Mouse stuffed key chain and left a set of dominoes. We also left a ‘wheresgeorge.com’ $1 bill, logged in, and took a picture. Thanks for the cache – kajer.

I found it! 27 Jan 2002    Casey's Joy Returns  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Finally, I found it! This was my 4th try. I think the new coordinates helped, I was almost standing on the cache before I saw it. Very well hidden in an area with infinite hiding spots. I came here Sunday the 27th of Jan with my wife and son, but I had entered the old coordinates of several weeks ago and hadn’t checked the web site to see if they changed. No wonder we couldn’t find it. I took 2 “wheresgeorge.com” $1 bills and replaced them with 2 of my own “wheresgeorge .com” bills. I forgot to bring something else for the cache in my excitement to try the new coordinates, but I took “Babe” the travel bug so I could send him on his way. Thanks for the hunt on a 55 deg. Jan. day – kajer.

I found it! 18 Jan 2002    Brodies Box  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

About 30 deg. but only about 1/2in of snow on the ground. Nice trails in the area. We went down a few of these trails, a few too many. We followed the trail but finally left the trail because we wern't getting any closer, just going in a circle. Cache was in good shape. We took the dominoes that the last person left and left a couple of fresh AA bateries for a GPS. Took a friend, who also has a GPS, to show them what little I know about Geocaching. Nice hunt, nice park!

I found it! 13 Jan 2002    Beechwoods Mayonnaise Jar  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

We're just getting started with Geocacheing and we already think that this is a great family activity! Beechwoods is a great little Natural Woods park. The trick to this cache is finding the park. Once we located the park we enjoyed the woods & trails. I think the tree limb canopy played tricks on the GPS but eventually we locked on and found the cache. We didn't take anything, but we left a golf ball and a tooney ($2 Canadian coin). Fun cache!
