I found it! 07 Apr 2002    Heron Bay  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

indeed i have found this cache. probably went a bit out of my way because i still remember the scary stories about the man with a big gun who owned this property.. so i wasn't comfotable walking along the road that leads to the house and enterered the trails sooner than need be.. saw a swan but no herons.. a father and son fishing team had sent up camp on the point just north of the cache.. chairs, campfire and all.. saw some interesting old house stuctures similar to the ones at "in the woods by the bay" cache.. they were near to the relativly new covered patio structure out there in the middle of the woods.. What's up with all the trail markers? white, blue, red, pink.. all kinds of paint everywhere.. thanks you much for the delightful cache, lighthouserocket..

I found it! 02 Mar 2002    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

I found it! 26 Feb 2002    Webster 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

found this cache at 4:00pm with the weather on the slide.. took the wet way in.. found a dryer way out.. and shorter if i had parked where i was first inclined.. was an overall delightful time.. unfortunatly not much time to enjoy it all.. made my mark in the log book.. took/left nothing.. meant to take a pic but my memory is failing me in my old age..and i had forgotten to by the time i finished writing in the log book.. This was my first being first to the cache!.. thanks, LHR

I found it! 24 Feb 2002    MOTHER-IN-LAWS WALK  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I found it! 21 Feb 2002    1K Sanctuary  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

was going to scope out the rothfuss property for a chache but noticed that it was connected to the swamp which i hadn't realized so i just decided to grab this cache while i was there.. found the cache at about 2:35 this afternoon.. what a dreary day.. a little rain and about 40 degrees.. didn't see a single mosquito though!! ;).. had stopped to let the gps average a bit since it was pointing me into the water another 50 feet.. looked down and there was the cache!.. signed the log.. left a a couple used golf balls and took nothing.. .. thanks, lighthouserocket

I found it! 19 Feb 2002    HOGS BACK VISTAS  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

found this cache without too much trouble.. i've been at this damsite many a times.. always a beautiful view.. took the travel bug and signed the book.. swung like tarzan on the vines in the woods on my way out!..

I found it! 16 Feb 2002    Ghost's Domain  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

had a nice quiet walk along the water... i did pass one other person who was peculiarly well dress for the trails..trails are a little wet and slippery in some places but nothing terrible. took the M&M Guy Hitcher..and signed the log.. contemplated how long it must take Melissa Long straighten her hair in the morning?..

I found it! 15 Feb 2002    Brodies Box  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

had a nice walk.. decided to not take the trail... went through some nice stands of pine and cedar... took 19 minutes to find the cache... much fun... found the trail for the walk out... took nothing..left nothing.. signed the log... cheers, LHR

I found it! 12 Feb 2002    Issaquah In Irondeqoit  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

so anyway, there i was! Little old Light House Rocket.... contemplating weather or not to dig right into the matini's for the afternoon or get out for a little adventure and exercise geocaching...and so i decided to make a go at this cache.. drove down to smith road... and as i suspected the gate closes at 4:00pm... recalling those evil bike rides up that hill as a youngster i decided better find another way in.. looked at the townhomes off of empire because i now of the trails that lead in form there but they were packed so tight there was nowhere to park anymore... then there is always the way in i suggested for my cache but i hate waving to the people who live there when i walk by so i decided to take starting just up the hill behind the restaurant that i belive they now call "baywatch" that keeps going bankrupt and renaming itself.. of course this is the farthest point i could choose.. but i figured i would stop in at my cache on the way... and so i started in... said hello to my cache and with the encouragement of hinge thunder and Issaquah Puppy as posted in the log book.. blahh blahh blahh is, "only a half mile away" i pushed on... and so it was... i turned on my gps .. which gave me a distance of little over half a mile and a lovely low battery warning... knowing the distance i decided to turn of the gps and maked a go in the direction of the cache.. i had contemplated wearing my boots for this.. but thought the winter mocks might give me some good traction on the hills.. this was a bad descision in the end..as i found myself going up the hills with some trouble and sliding down them whether i wanted to or not.. this would normally not be a problem but with limited time, as it was about 4:45, and recent past involving over induldgence in martini's it took it's toll... so i decided to cut along the shore which worked ok except for some difficult bushwacking and climbing when the shore was impassible.. finally i come to a spot where i think i am close to the cache.. and sure enough i turn on the trusty gps and there it is just 300+ feet away.. but to my dismay there is a large (what do you call that, the tern has slipped my mind) offshoot to the bay in my way.. the marsh seems to extend quite far back!!! ugghh.. how i don't want to try to go around.. so i make the descion to try to cross the mouth of the offshoot.. across the Treacherous ice.. (DO NOT DO THIS, I am fully responsible for my own actions but not at all responsible for anybody else's actions) so i make my way across plesantly suprised to make it..despite the ominous sound of the broken ice chiming in the waves.. make my way up the cliff to the top of the hill.. turn on the gps.. and find out i am very close.. i go (according to the gps) within ten feet of the cache.. and just as i am circling around back to it the thing completly dies from lack of battery power... fortunatly it had gotten me that close and within a couple of minutes i found the cache and was quite thankful for this... i took sebulba (thanks to gimpy i believe) and left a cd.. i did take sebulba down to the water for a candid shot with the camera.. (seems the battery for the flash is dead however, i hope the shot comes out!) .. back up the cliff i go and sign the log book.. and make a run for it before it gets too dark... on my way back across the ice..i must admit one foot took a dip.. although the water wasn't that deep there was some delightful muck into which i sank.. (insertion: at this point i did see a couple of beautiful swans swimming nearby, unfortunatly i know their destructive abilities after being attacked by one.. they can break arms easily ya know) having had enough for the day and wanting to make it back to my car before dark i stayed along the shore as much as possible..once again occasionally fighting my way through some thick brush.. (insertion: i do believe i saw the osprey i saw last summer flying over head.. but the markings weren't clear.. and i was usure if the osprey would still be around at this time of year??? ) i finally made it to the area of my cache and made the irrational descision to cut across through the tall grass... it was a little wet but to my suprise sharp! it took a good gash out of my hand as i stumbled through it.. i can't express my happiness to have made it through that grass though.. as there was one hill to go and then i was practically to my car!!!.. just in the nick of time i made it to my car.. about 5:25 and on the verge of darkness.. thanks for the adventure... cheers, LightHouseRocket

I found it! 12 Feb 2002    Gimpys Linear  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

found this feb. 6, 2002..
had a great little walk today.. starting from the higher parking lot took me about 15 minutes to find the cache, which i found at 3:33.. my map 330 dropped me right on top of it.. which was nice since it was well buried in crusty snow.. a red tailed hawk circled above as i exchange a button and book for a cd and signed the log..

I found it! 10 Feb 2002    Watch out for Private Property!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )
