CACHE LOGS - May contain hints(spoilers)!   decode

I found it! 29 Jul 2003    Celebrating Family Fun in the Outdoors  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 09 Jun 2003    Carthage Landing Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4 )

The cracked tuperware box has been replaced with a new tuperware box. Evidently the last one got sat on at some point. Might start replacing my tuperware boxs with ammo boxs. Tuperware after a year or a year and a half tend to crack and warp. Also many seem to get crushed sooner or later. Anyway the new box is there with new goodies. Please put the top on correctly.
Huckle Buckle,
Rippie

Note 19 May 2003    Lookout Rock Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4 )

Well i finally got down to do the climb and check the cache. Really neat to see a few logs including one of a group of 17 from a boces class. Really "cool" to have so many visit this unique little spot on North Mountain.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,

Note 19 May 2003    Settler`s Cabin Cache  ( Difficulty: 4    Terrain: 4 )

Well i finally got down to check the cache. Found it to be filled with water so have decided to move it (after cleaning it and drying it out) to the trunk of a tree near the cellar. Three bench marks within 30 feet of each other are in a triangle or L shape an surround the cache. I have heard rummors that this was a landing spot for UFO`s and is classified information in project blue book documents. Also black bear scat was near one of these bench markers.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 17 May 2003    Summit Fire Tower  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

Nice to see this old fire tower again that I climbed as a kid. Even nice to think it will be refurbished so we can enjoy it again. Worked off the bench mark to locate the cache my Gps wasn`t operating. Returned the following day with Aunt Margret from the Water`s nursing home to show her the fire tower. Her husband retired from the park some years back. Thanks for the hide and got my patch in support of the fire tower cause.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 14 Mar 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I can bring the charcoal and lighter fluid.
Rippie

Note 13 Mar 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Fellows,
Yep, I`ll be there for sure. You Mugs are life time associates. What do i have to do to
beat Hinges 101 finds? Be interesting when I punch my log in.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 28 Nov 2002    Country Wheels  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3 )

Cenobite, Feel like maybe Im being had but would like those coords for the 10 point buck near the valley of the inukshuk cache. My hack saw is at the ready. Have computer problems at home so send them to dango98@yahoo.com RIPPIE

Note 19 Oct 2002    Cracker-Barrel Keepsake  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

The travel bugs Wilber and the White Buffalo have escaped from Pirates Treasure and made there way down river to Rattlesnake Pete`s cache. Rummor has it numerous cachers plan on trying to retreive them at day break.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 01 Aug 2002    Syracuse Geocachers Picnic  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I`ll bring a three bean salad and doritos.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie (one)

I found it! 14 Jul 2002    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Not to far from home. Had to back track a little and had to make a couple stabs through the the last 50 or 80 feet. Persistence payed off. Cauch was in good shape. Made my trade, log entry and photo. Nice hide Quinn, thanks for getting me out on another mini adventure.
Hucle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 12 Jul 2002    Beechwoods Mayonnaise Jar  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

HT,
I think i was the last to find the remains of this cache a while back. Since i recovered various items in the orginal cache as well as a container I`m going to log it as a find.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,

Note 10 Jul 2002    The Orc's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4.5 )

H.T.
Its a strange looking creature indeed. Something only a mother could Love.
The box 200 feet out could be and electrical box two meter readers were carrying when they were consumed by the Orcs.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 01 Jul 2002    Bullock's Woods  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Long day of kayaking with Hinge Thunder. We did a little side trip to get this cache in while paddling down the river. The sun must have been getting to me because i thought i seen a ship with the navicache stamp design on its flag, with a bunch of "savory" types on board. Just a mirage i guess.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 01 Jul 2002    Cracker-Barrel Keepsake  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

The cache is located on somewhat higher ground since Hinge did the cache. Take note of the new coordinates they are slightly different than the originals.
Rippie

Note 01 Jul 2002    Valley Of The Inukshuk  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 4.5 )

Note: The ragging Genesee evidently sweep away the original cache box. These new coordiates and box are located a fair distance from where the old box was. The cache is now located right in the Valley of the "Inukshuk" near the base of the falls.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 24 Jun 2002    Global Geocache (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Gee we got some nice theme type caches out there now, like this one. Great to see folks coming up with new creative ideas for caches. I`m thinking of something new myself like a "Wearer Of Many Hats" cache where i trade folks for Old Lady Hats. They are especially nice to wear while kayaking.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hinge Thunder and i are going to place some caches by kayak. Unbeknownst to Hinge is a standing rule. You must wear and Old Ladies Hat while kayaking. Of course i have a whole bag of them for him to choose from, hehe. Rip

I found it! 20 Jun 2002    Message in a Bottle  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Truely a great job placing these. Coordinates are right on. You got the right color top on the first cache. LoL. Thanks for a great mini adventure and getting me out to smell the flowers and play in poison Ivy.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 19 Jun 2002    Crescent Hill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice hide guys had me searching for a bit. Thanks for getting me out on s mini adventure and to smell the flowers. Great view but distant sounds of traffic and construction took from the total picture of things. Signed the log and made my swap had trouble trying to close the box its so filled.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Anyone with information on the October picnic please e-mail me.

I found it! 15 Jun 2002    Hawthorn  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Yep, was a nice hide and a good search to find it. Guess i should have looked at one of those park maps. But got their made my swap and found the car again.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 12 Jun 2002    We "Chit" You Not  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Yep, had to satisfy the fever after getting off from work. One geo hit will keep me going for a few days. Even the pouring rain couldn`t keep me away.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 08 Jun 2002    Goose Poop Trail  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

After getting some directions from a very helpful gal an instructor at a karate school on Rt. 31 where I turn off, i finally found the area. It was pretty neat 3 ponds at least maybe more. Nice cache well placed and well stocked. Placed a traveler, signed the log and made my swap.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 08 Jun 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What do you mean "no cigar"?
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 08 Jun 2002    The Leprechaun's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 5    Terrain: 3 )

Had time so went back today to try and locate cache. Was to bussy visiting during the navicache.com picnic. The cache was still tough but i had the one important clue that i needed to find it.
Great job Hinge and Puppy can`t believe all you were able to fit in the cache box.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 06 Jun 2002    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Gimp,
Another well placed cache. Thanks for getting me out on a mini adventure and to smell the flowers. A little muddy but not bad, looked like rain but it didn`t. Signed the log made my trade.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

Note 01 Jun 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Blackpete hit it on the head. A Mighty show from the MIghty Quinn today. Only wish i took pictures and wrote all the names down of all the fine folks i met. I came home exausted but I loved every minute of it. I just couldn`t soak up enough information or the great vibrations everyone seemed to generate. I could go on for hours taking about you folks and the fun i had. I feel this is the start of many new friendships. Please stay in tough and if your in the area give me a shout. I`d love to go on a cache or have coffee if i`m not out kayaking.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
I was at the picnic for 9 hours and ran out of time. Next year i suggest a campout or maybe thats something we still could do, this year?

Note 30 May 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

New spot sounds good i`ll be there with pop and chips which I`m on the list for.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 29 May 2002    Cacher's Cache Can  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Yep, i dried out this Russian made Garmin 40 GPS (the instructions are in Russian of-course) and it locked on its one satilite, Sputnik (the dog died long ago). Then this trusty little bear of a GPS got me right to the cache this time.
Nice cache and a nice hide. Thanks for getting me out for a fine mini adventure and to smell the flowers.
Your not related to William and Mary Whitman the missionaries are ya?
Hope to see you at the navicache.com picnic.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 23 May 2002    The Tao of Funky Monkey  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Lighthouse Rocket,
Coordinates looked good to me. I hate fruit cake but glade this was a large one so i could find it easier. I still walked by it a couple times as it was. Its a good hide.
My GPS 40 receives only one satilite "SPUTNIK" but it still got me to the cache in good order. (don`t tell anyone but the dog died years ago} I left baseball cards, several bird paper clips, an "INUNSHUK" and several misc. things. I took a small statue of a China man smoking a pipe.He appears to be flying high on this breezy day.LOL
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
hope to see you all at the navicache.com picnic. Rip

I found it! 22 May 2002    Issaquah's Try'n Try Again  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 4 )

Yep was a good one. Nicely placed and nice goodies in the cache as well.
Had me going for a while but I did get pleasure seeing the many foot prints all over tarnation. Quinn`s, Cabron`s, Lower Falls and several others. This one shoe print has would you believe navicache.com inprinted in it. One steep bank starts out with navicache and turns into all kinds of words similar to that in a fifteen foot slide down hill. Two large cheek indentations exist toward the end of the slide. I think he may have found his *** bone on this one. LOL
Did my exchange and noted everything in the cache log.
The old GPS 40 is working well after being dried out on the radiator and some good batteries were put in it.
Hope to see you all at the navicache.com picnic.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 15 May 2002    BIG T'S CACHE  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

Four Pack,
Well GPS has shit the bed hopefully its only temporary.
Think i got some water in it or on it the other day. Anyway was familar with the area with kayaking so figured i`d give it a try. Found the cache took the small storage containers and left a statue of a geocacher explorer and a dozen baseball cards. Great cache well placed and well stocked. Thanks for the great hide and a mini adventure that got me out into the great outdoors.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,

SANDRA,
Wow, another great cache, its nice to have so many nice ones right around home. I took a pin set and left a Mickey cookie cutter set. Its well placed and well stocked a really nice job on your part. Thanks for the great hide and hope to see your whole clan at the Navocache.com picnic.

Note 14 May 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Quinn,
I can bring 24 cans of beer or pop and a couple bags of doritos.
Rippie (ha,ha also get one free log point.)

I found it! 13 May 2002    dig in my garden cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Wow, a real Mega cache even larger than the Earth day cache at Turning Point Park. Took the wipes and left a clown statue for someones garden. Great to see a change of pace in the thinking of what a cache can be. Hinge Thunder`s book exchange idea i guess is similar. I`m thinking of an Old Dan`s records cache myself.
Should have seen me climb over that chain link fence twice. Used my coat like they do in those prison breaks on TV.
Thanks for a great hide.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 05 May 2002    Geodecache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice hide in a nice park. Left costers, key chain candy and neckless and took the dog. Got a little wet but seems like in many of the cache areas things still haven`t dried out from the rain we got last week.
Thanks for the mini adventure and getting me out to smell the flowers. Hope to see you at the Navicache.com picnic in Seneca Park.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 05 May 2002    Return to Earth  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Like most folks i took a harder than need be way to the cache. But heck it still was fun and who knows maybe even a good deal more.
Traded a statue of Hinge Thunder and Issaquah puppy for the book "Black Elk Speaks" by John G. Neihardt.
Thanks for getting me out to smell the flowers and a neat little mini adventure.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hope to see you all at the Navicache.com Picnic at Seneca Park. Rip

I found it! 04 May 2002    My Cache Goes Where the Wild Goose Goes  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

I have kayak this great resourse "black creek" with the ADK. I traded for the hat. Left a Bills 1992 mini collectable car, neckless, glasses, key chain and hard candy. Thanks for the great mini adventure and getting me out to smell the flowers.

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
See you at the Seneca Park picnic. Rip

I found it! 02 May 2002    Cacher's Cache Can  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Like Lower Falls i had no luck. Newly fallen trees in the area may have covered the cache. Rainy morning GPS was acting up as well. Thanks for taking me to mendon its always nice to return there.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Seneca Park geocacher get-together coming up.

I found it! 01 May 2002    Gimpys Linear  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

For some reason I thought I had already done this cache. Guess I have done so many of Gimp`s I lost track. Another great morning mini adventure to a nice placed cache in a neat park. Did my trade and slid my butt twice across that log.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hope to see you all at the Seneca Park picnic. Rip

I found it! 01 May 2002    Sandras' secret cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Four Pack,
Nice to have another cache top side at Seneca park this will be a good one for the Navicache.com picnic. Took a fan and the george left a single, butter fly paper clip, gum, and couple smal craft items make.
Thanks for getting me out and a nice mini adventure.

I found it! 30 Apr 2002    Dog Chow Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

Found it about seven golf balls later at 20 minutes a golf ball. The cache is well located and right where you said it would be. Great morning of wet an cold and "Rippie" wouldn`t be denied
I traded a packaged toy for a light stick and off to the Chile Cub Pack geocache in the swamp land of black creek. Thanks for the great mini adventure abd getting me out of the house.

Gimp,

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 29 Apr 2002    Discombobulated Universe (retired)  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

Nice little park and a great little mini adventurer. I really liked the large brown sand stone i believe it was that lined the road in. Think I reported wrong in my geocaching.com report. I left a stamp of a dog at this cache for anyone wishing to use it as a letter box stamp. I took a Burger King toy in exchange.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hope to see you all at the Seneca park get-together.

I found it! 27 Apr 2002    Maps Maiden  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Gimp,
Was a nice day in the 50`s but it didn`t dry the swamp out to much, LOL. The cache is right where the coordinates say that it is, within a feet feet anyway. Nice hide, nice mini adventure.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hope to see you at the Seneca Park get-together. Rip

I found it! 27 Apr 2002    CARON S CACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Caron,
Nice hide, neat mini adventure for a Saturday morning. Like Quinn i made use of my bike which worked out pretty well. Had to search a little to find the box but was well worth it. Trade statue for coffee and headed off to find Gimp`s "Maps Maiden".
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie
Hope to see you at the Seneca Park get-together. Rip

I found it! 24 Apr 2002    Heron Bay  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Kayaker,
Nice area and a nice hide. I hiked in this time but us kayakers have a little advantage having paddled back through this beautiful area. I believe there is another cache in the area by GPS Fool but you will need a canoe or kayak to get to it. If you don`t own one you can rent one from Baycreek paddling center. Baycreek is the best spot to launch from to find the other cache. Check water temp, stream flow rate and paddle skills before you attempt paddling. Also take a buddy.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 22 Apr 2002    A Hawks View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Gee, had to get out and find a few, before i hide more than i have found. Nice rainy day and i went right through the missisippi delta of that great state of Louisiana. I didn`t run into any of those great cajun folk though.
Had the wrong road on my way out but a most helpful trooper on road patrrol was friendly an helpful. Got me straight and i got to show him my old GPS 40. Said he seen the thing on channel 13. I told him to give it a try sometime, that it can be fun. No promises but he found it interesting.
Made my swap signed the log before heading home.
Nice placement as always Quinn.
Striking Up A Knightly Pose,
Rippie
Don`t forget the picnic at Seneca Park will be coming soon.

I found it! 21 Apr 2002    Earth Day Celebration '02  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The size of the cache box i found very interesting. Seems to me more of us should put out some boxs that can contain larger cache items like this one. Nice placement also. Thanks for the mini adventure.
Huckle Buckle Beabstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 20 Mar 2002    Maple Grove Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Lower Falls,
Found the cache in the rain but beat the thunder(Hinge that is). Thanks for another great local history cache. Keep up the good work and thanks for the mini adventure.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie (first to the cache)

Note 12 Mar 2002    ROCHESTER AND AREA CACHERS GET-TOGETHER!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I plan on being there. It will be nice to hang out with some real GPS fools for a day. Thinking i`ll bring some of my famous three bean salad or cheese bread, who knows maybe both. Thinking maybe Road Kill could help The Mighty Quinn out in the meat category. He`s got squirrel, chimpmunk, rabbit, and beaver in that hat of his alone. Personally i`d like a little rattlesnake. Who knows maybe old Rattlesnake Pete will show up.
Huckle Buckle Beanstalk,
Rippie

I found it! 01 Jan 2002    It's as easy as ABC  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Navigator,
Think i went the hard way C,B,A but i got there. Took the yo,yo left a "dead man playing a fidle". Great location even though its a high traffic area. Took a picture on a camera someone left for you. "Happy New Year" to you and Marcy.
Your paddle buddy, RIPPIE
schopan@rochester.rr.com date: New Years Day

I found it! 31 Dec 2001    Pink Panther  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

29 Dec. 2001 Cold winter day but the sun was out, only light dusting of snow on the ground. Parked in the park an hiked the trail over to the cache. Seen several hunters, folks walking their dogs and several ATVs. Found the cache even with low batteries in the GPS but external antenna really helped. Took a mini Rockwell book and left a set of screw driver testers. As always i enjoyed my mini adventure. Quinn you do such a fine job placing the cache in new areas to explore.
